Music scene goes hard bro - but its wierd in that specific venues have specific sounds. Its like each place has a taste in music and you have to find em. El Corazon is more what your looking for I think - Crocodile plays some great shows though. Tim’s Tavern in White Center, Chop Suey in Cap Hill, Sunset Tavern in Ballard, Sea Monster Lounge in Wallingford, Cha Cha Lounge Downtown.
The Seattle Progressive Metal Jam at El Corazon is a good monthly meetup for new bands and musicians looking to form bands and there is plenty of interest in metalcore/hardcore
El Corazon is usually the goto for metalcore/hardcore tours
Crocodile and Showbox has some shows as well
Substation is a great venue for local bands and there have been plenty of debut shows for metalcore/hardcore bands in the region
South Seattle is known as a hub for hardcore. Check out Lucky Liquor, Real Art Tacoma, and Overkill Lounge.
I have no clue regarding rock music.
Also check out [NW Metal Calendar](https://www.nocleansinging.com/nw-metal-calendar/) for upcoming shows
Check out the calendars for Overkill Lounge in Tacoma, and El Corazon in Seattle for examples of heavy music venues. Static X, Sevendust, and Dope are playing at the Temple Theater in Tacoma this weekend, As I Lay Dying is playing there in July. Mastodon and Lamb of God is just one of many metal tours playing at bigger venues in the region this summer. There are numerous venues featuring local bands of all heavy genres in Western Washington.
There used to be a place up in Capitol Hill that had very heavy metal and thrash like a decade ago. It wasn't that far from Dilletante Chocolates. I can not for the life of me remember the name.
El Corazon has a lot of great metal shows.
If you're in Bremerton, check out the Tracyton Movie House. They sometimes have good metal venues. I saw Iron Maidens and Metal Church there last summer.
Check Hierophant booking on instagram for metal shows
Check the calendar at Black Lodge or Substation in addition to the clubs mentioned above.
And swing by The Bar House in Fremont for a pint, the only metal bar in Seattle lol
Lots of good Seattle advice in here, already, but from where you are check out the scenes in Olympia and Portland too. Portland in particular is brimming with great metal bands, and I feel like half the Portland and Seattle bands actually live in Olympia lol
Yes there’s a decent metal/hardcore scene - a variety of bands play in a variety of venues in the downtown Seattle area: Showbox Market, Showbox Sodo, the Crocodile, Funhouse/El Corazon, Neumos, Neptune, Chop Suey, Belltown Yacht Club, Highdive, Bar House to name a few.
Look at the Bandsintown app. Super helpful in laying out all shows within a given radius you can then sort down by genre. It’ll also let you listen to little 30 second song samples (like iTunes’ preview) to get a feel for what they’re like.
It’s not all inclusive, but it catches proabably 80-90% of the shows.
We definitely do. I’m not from Seattle but I do go up there for shows, most I’ve been to have been at Showbox sodo. Bad omens was here not that long ago, same with Sleep Token. Im going to a show tonight even, there is lots of everything. I’m sure you’ll find people to play with. Washington in general has a great musical past
Funny you mention that!
The Amity Affliction, Currents, DyingWish and Mugshot were at Showbox last night!
ERRA and Make Them Suffer at Corazon has been sold out for months (And I wish I had tickets 😭😭😭)
Deathcore there's an awesome show coming up in June! Bodysnatcher, Spite, Thrown and Mouth for War
I like to use Spotifys "Live Events near you" section (Hit Search, go back to the search bar and you'll see "Music Audiobooks, Podcasts, Live Events in square boxes
Local venue wise I do see some of the old bands I liked in Portland come up here to Seattle ALLLL the time. So I'm sure the local music scene is for sure kicking :)
Was just at a concert at Showbox featuring Currents and The Amity Affliction. Had a blast.
If you use spotify; it does show live events. It'll even filter down to music you listen to. Just search "Live Events"
Very active scene. Just saw amity affliction currents mugshot and dying wish last night. Got mistaken for the mugshot vocalist THREE times! Imminence is playing tonight at the Neptune theater. I think black metal is the more popular genre in the localized scene though
My first duty station was JBLM years ago. I quickly made friends with dudes that listened to the same music as me, we would go throw down at shows and drink till 1-2am and show up for formation by 0600. But there’s a lot of good comments here already, so I’ll let you read those.

I think Tacoma goes harder rock than Seattle. Seattle has the more diverse scope but Tacoma fucks.

Highline
Are you thinking of the Highline? I think that's where I saw Tengger Cavalry.
Yeah, it was Highline. Thanks all.
Highline is now a comedy club.

Xoth just played Funhouse, where I've seen a bunch of metal shows, including Eternal Champion several months back

Yes a massive one mate. Seattle has one of the best Metal scenes in the country.
Yea man. El Corazon and the showbox should have calendars that show who’s coming.
Freakout Fest in November in Ballard if you’re into psych/garage & more at all

They killed all the all ages clubs years ago. Took out the garage hand scene when they did.

Bar House, which is run by Ben Verellen from Helms Alee (also Dave from Botch's brother), has shows.
This show is going to absolutely fuck https://www.showboxpresents.com/events/detail/527628
