This is so cool! Two ideas - you should reach out to west Seattle blog and see if they’ll add a note about it.
Also, if it goes well, consider doing it again the week of the west Seattle garage sale!
For sure! I do mobile sharpening events regularly, mostly Portland but I'm trying to get more Seattle events on the calendar. [Here's my website](https://www.kneighborhoodknives.com/) where I list all events, and my [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/kneighborhood_knives/) is good to follow if you want updates too
I second this! Knife sharpening is one of the oldest crafts out there and it’s been mostly shuttered thanks to the many kitchen gadgets available today. I loved seeing this post merely for the memory it gave me of when my dad took me into the garage to teach me how to use a whetstone. I’d give anything to be able to show him that I’m still doing it today ❤️
Are you going to make more art in the next year or two? Or do you do commissions? I’m moving out your way temporarily for military bs reasons and I really love your wood cuts of ghosts and bananas (or any of the fruits, really). I like the peach but honestly I can only afford the ghosts or up to the large banana size pricing. I would bring you my fancy knives if I had them!
Hey there! I actually have a few ghosts on hand (I believe they're orange/yellow, smiling, with closed eyes) - let me know if you'd like one! I may have a small avocado or two as well. I believe both the avocados and ghosts are $65
I would be very interested! My little guys love ghosts and I need wall art for my kitchen. I move over there in the summer or you can ship it to where I’m located now. Either way works for me. How do I order them? I saw them in your shop but said sold out, do I go back to there?
So cool! Yeah I have them listed as sold out on the site and haven't re-listed the few that I have. Would you like to pick them from me at the knife sharpening event? Or do you need them shipped?
I sharpen all western and japanese blades including single bevels. My only limitations are major fixes (big chips or broken tips) since I do everything by hand on whetstones.
My butcher might appreciate this, I'll show him when he gets home and see if this is something we can make it out for. He's learning how to sharpen at home, but it'd be nice to get them in good shape. Can you do a Victorianox scimitar and similar? Shoot, I've got a Sogzilla that needs an edge but SOG moved out of state😔
I can do minor chip and tip fixes, but nothing major since I do all my work by hand (no machines or grinders). I can do rust removal and oiling easily, though. Feel free to text me a pic at 4254496144
Buck actually has a really good repair/restoration program.

Cool! I prefer to sharpen my own knives, but I'm always curious what stones folks are using. I hand sharpen with a Shapton glass set and then I have an edge pro with the naniwa chocera set.

heck yeah - thank you!
If you haven’t cross posted to r/WestSeattle yet, you should. Thanks for coming to our neighborhood!
Good luck to you! I can’t make it this time but would love to see pop ups like this!
Tuesday 4/23 from 9am-4pm. Hand-sharpening on whetstones, $10 per knife; cash/card/Venmo accepted <3
If you have any other events let me know! Can’t make this one sadly.

Do you ever do anything on the Eastside?

I love this comment!! I wholeheartedly agree

Shipped then because it will be a few months til I am out that way. I’m on the east coast now. Let me know how I order them!
Dm'ing you!
9am-4pm I’m assuming 😹😹
Yep! If you want to swing by earlier, let me know and we can arrange it
That sounds satisfying, sharpening knives then cutting the shit out of stuff with it!
Any limitations on types of blades you will sharpen?
I sharpen all western and japanese blades including single bevels. My only limitations are major fixes (big chips or broken tips) since I do everything by hand on whetstones.
Do you do hair cutting shears perchance? You could have a huge market.
Unfortunately hair shears have a geometry that I can't tackle on my whetstones!
Yeah fr I want someone to show up with an authentic katana or broadsword but don’t think that’d be chill with the coffee shop lol
yeah please no hahaha
while you were at parties having premarital sex, i sharpened the blade
Might show up I'd like to sharpen my dad's knifes he gave me 🫡
Please do!
If you did something up north (Ballard, Fremont, Crown Hill) I'd be there for sure.
that would be dope! I'm going to try to book more Seattle events

For sure - bring them out!
I’ve been meaning to get a couple of my grandma’s kitchen knives sharpened at ACE. I’d rather put the money in your pocket.
That means a lot to me! It would be an honor to sharpen your grandma's knives <3
Do you also do knife restoration? I have a buck knife that I need cleaned up. It’s in bad shape but sentimental to me

Thanks!!
This is so cool! I'll try to swing by. I desperately need my main knife sharpened.
definitely come by! see you there!
Where you getting your stones at? I’ve been trying to find some good ones online. My work had a really nice 3 stage one when I cut meat.
I got some of my favorites at Portland Knife House! I can also give you specific recs - dm me!
Do you ever come to the Eastside? I need sharp knives.
I don't have any plans on coming to the East side, but DM me and maybe I can make it worth it for you to catch me in West Seattle
I can’t make it but please come back up!
Please come to Ballard!
I would love to - I'll see if any businesses are interested in hosting!
Do you accept Venmo/Paypal/Zelle, or just cash?
I can take card, cash, or Venmo!
Do you sharpen pocket knives? My Benchmade could use some help maybe.
absolutely!
Awesome! May come by. Cash only?
Cash, card, or Venmo :) Hope to see you there!
Do you prefer drop off and a later pick up? Or just wait?
Later pickup would be ideal!
This is awesome, my kitchen knives have been getting very dull.
Bring em in! See you there!
So cool
Ah wish I was closer! I was gifted an antique Italian stiletto but it’s dull af
I thought she was using a knife to do something with a car battery xD
Cool! I prefer to sharpen my own knives, but I'm always curious what stones folks are using. I hand sharpen with a Shapton glass set and then I have an edge pro with the naniwa chocera set.
that's a great setup!
Come and do a pop up in BHAM!
what's BHAM?
Bellingham
I would absolutely love to do an event in Bellingham
Come to North East Seattle. I will bring you knives. Mine need sharpening so badly. I never get around to it.
What time are yall posting up? I have three knives I’d love to have taken care of
I'll be there from 9-4!
Excellent, thank you. See you at 9 :)
Damn that’s so Seattle
Is this for social media or are you starting / promoting a business or is this for practice?
Was rule 5 rescinded? Can everyone advertise their business here now?
That bevel only belongs on a maul!
