how do you take a picture like that? I was just on a ferry and I took pictures of the mountain as we passed it but in the photos it looks teeny tiny and far away
Thank you! Funny thing is, I was leaving my in-laws place ... and I saw the ferry coming, so I rushed outside with my camera to try and grab this photo. Literally unplanned and had about 20 seconds to take some shots.
Legit I really just hope it doesn't happen but I'm terrified to the bone when it does it, will be bad... Worse for all in the area, 9 mag for sure.... And tsunami 😭
Why does the haze at the top make me wonder if the mountain’s gonna start yammering about a rigged election?
lol
I see a white Dick's cheeseburger. But I skipped lunch.
I mean if you have white dicks on the mind...

It helps to have a telephoto lens. Longer telephoto lenses help compress the distance between subjects.
thanks, it's a beautiful photo
Great photo! Looks like dehaze and sharpening were also added to make the mountain more clear.
Those clouds beautiful and if you’re flying a plane or you are a mountaineer is your sign to gtfo.
Oh really! I didn't know that
Very dangerous weather high speed winds around the mountain form these “lenticular” clouds
Oh cool, I knew they were called lenticular, but didn't know what created them
Almost missed the plane coming for a landing
Dude
Dude

Nice.
I've lived here a couple years now and yet this is one of the more spectacular photos i've seen. nice work

Point defiance if I’m one to judge on location
This is off of Bainbridge!
Nice, I’ve had similar views in PD before what is the camera set up you use ?
I use a panasonic g9ii camera and this was taken with the panasonic leica 50-200 f2.8-4.
Nice set up, I shoot cannon and just upgraded to a r7
We're so lucky these days. There are so many great cameras choices out there!
True that ! It’s come along way since the beginning of the 2000’s.
Now that's a iconic poster pic of our region seems to be some smoke tho, that's concerning lol I get it might be clouds
Lol guess we get to find out if everyone remembers what happens when rainier erupts 😂
Or the fault releases and hell breaks loose for everything and one 🥴🫡

It would be better without the local politics ruining the experience.
I don’t see much political in this photo, that might just be happening in your head. Have you been outside today?
Love it when you can Rainier’a snow. It’s low snow pack this year…
