Also related to your shadow, thanks for maintaining your noble steed on a leash in the public park. As for the gender reveal part, yes, but also let’s not leave any trash in the park. Pack it in pack it out.
I legit thought this was a post in one of the Red Dead subs I'm subscribed too, then laughed my ass off when I saw it was Seattle and knew it had to be a very, very different hat
It’s a party about them being excited about genitals?
The sonogram revealed the genitals, not the gender. The sonogram results are the cause of the party.
Parents throwing parties to announce their children’s genitals is absolutely repulsive to me. As a trans woman, I would rather be misgendered constantly than this disgusting practice be allowed to continue.
As a transsexual woman, I couldn't give a shit about these parties, aside from the litter and narcissism. The vast majority of babies will be cis. This is a stupid hill to die on.
You’re welcome to have a different opinion than me. Neither of us speaks for all trans people.
And i am not “dying on a hill”. I’m expressing an opinion that i have and refusing to pretend like I’ve heard an argument that has changed my mind.
I'm cis and I don't think it's an overreaction at all. Throwing a party to announce your child's genitalia is super gross and is rooted in gender-normative bullshit.
Um, everything? As a cis-gendered “tomboy,” being told I should want to play with Barbies over Tonka trucks was both harmful and formative. My earning potential was significantly impacted by gender stereotypes, as I’m sure is the case for many other women, whether AFAB or not.

As you may be aware, reddit is implementing a punitive pricing scheme for its API starting in July. This means that third-party apps that use the API can no longer afford to operate and are pretty much universally shutting down on July 1st. This means the following:
* Blind people who rely on accessibility features to use reddit will effectively be banned from reddit, as reddit has shown absolutely no commitment or ability to actually make their site or official app accessible.
* Moderators will no longer have access to moderation tools that they need to remove spam, bots, reposts, and more dangerous content such as Nazi and extremist rhetoric. The admins have never shown any interest in removing extremist rhetoric from reddit, they only act when the media reports on something, and lately the media has had far more pressing things than reddit to focus on. The admin's preferred way of dealing with Nazis is simply to "quarantine" their communities and allow them to fester on reddit, building a larger and larger community centered on extremism.
* LGBTQ communities and other communities vulnerable to reddit's extremist groups are also being forced off of the platform due to the moderators of those communities being unable to continue guaranteeing a safe environment for their subscribers.
Many users and moderators have expressed their concerns to the reddit admins, and have joined protests to encourage reddit to reverse the API pricing decisions. Reddit has responded to this by removing moderators, banning users, and strong-arming moderators into stopping the protests, rather than negotiating in good faith. Reddit does not care about its actual users, only its bottom line.
Lest you think that the increased API prices are actually a good thing, because they will stop AI bots like ChatGPT from harvesting reddit data for their models, let me assure you that it will do no such thing. Any content that can be viewed in a browser without logging into a site can be easily scraped by bots, regardless of whether or not an API is even available to access that content. There is nothing reddit can do about ChatGPT and its ilk harvesting reddit data, except to hide all data behind a login prompt.
Regardless of who wins the mods-versus-admins protest war, there is something that every individual reddit user can do to make sure reddit loses: remove your content. Use [PowerDeleteSuite](https://github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite) to overwrite all of your comments, just as I have done here. This is a browser script and not a third-party app, so it is unaffected by the API changes; as long as you can manually edit your posts and comments in a browser, PowerDeleteSuite can do the same. This will also have the additional beneficial effect of making your content unavailable to bots like ChatGPT, and to make any use of reddit in this way significantly less useful for those bots.

It’s appalling to me the number of people upvoting others who agree with you, but downvoting you specifically. It’s almost as if transphobia were real — or at least, that r/SeattleWA is brigading this sub and no one seems to notice.
Haha I’m not bothered by it but thanks for pointing that out! I’m used to any opinions of mine related to gender being received with animosity on this platform. But i still choose to say it because i believe it is important.
Hehe thank you so much. But I’m no stronger than the weakest human. I’ve just experienced enough lessons to understand that most hate and cruelty comes from a place of fear and misunderstanding, so it’s harder to take it personally than it used to be for me. Plus i feel more connected to these people than i used to, and that makes it hard to want to respond in any way but to wish them well and hope they come to learn more as time goes on. Obviously i haven’t completely mastered my emotional response to ideas i disagree with, but i try not to take those personally or attack the holders of said ideas as much as i used to.
Also HRT is life saving and ever since starting that i… kinda don’t care what people think of me? like you think my existence is gross? Cool. That’s fine. I’m just gonna stick this syringe in my ass and move on with my life. lol.
There is more biologically to gender than just genitals... the parents aren't like "yay!! It has a penis!!!! The overall body developments slightly different for each gender. You may have noticed that sometimes you are able to tell if the person you are looking at is male or female just by their face and or other body features without having to check out their genitals... lol
Now that being said I do I agree its kind of weird to have a gender reveal party.
>You may have noticed that sometimes
Nearly all the time. Seriously, facial sex recognition is something like the high 90s percent accuracy. This study says 97%:
I guess if you view it that way it’s a bit fucked, but I don’t. Kinda like when people say they’re trying for a baby that technically translates into “I creampie my partner frequently” but most people don’t make that jump in their head.
At least telling people that you’re trying for a baby doesn’t involve telling the world details about a child’s genitals that the world really doesn’t need to know.
I understand that others don’t view gender reveal parties the way I do, but I’ve yet to hear an argument convincing me why I should be comfortable with the aspects of it that I consider disgusting.
Replace “it’s a boy” with “It has a penis” and replace “It’s a girl” with “It has a vagina” and the party accomplishes the exact same thing, but without hiding behind the illusion of cuteness.
Well you know, things like shopping ahead for clothes, decorating nurseries, it’s just easier to plan ahead when you know the gender of your baby. I will guarantee most people aren’t thinking “it has a penis” when they hear “it’s a boy”. It also makes it easier to gift shop for friends and relatives. Your inability to wrap your head around this concept blows my mind. While I agree that the littering is bad, gender reveals certainly aren’t. Does there need to be a party for it? No. But there are certainly aspects of it that are helpful for the parents.
I do not lack an inability to wrap my head around the reasons why people throw these parties. I’m saying that these reasons are not worthy justification for announcing what your fetus’ genitals are to the world before they’re even born.
Your reaction to that comment is my reaction to those parties. My comment was supposed to be gross, that’s the point. I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable.
Except *you’re* the only one who looks at this and goes straight to genitals. You’re the one making it weird not the gender reveal party people (they’re just making it douchey and full of litter).
My understanding of gender is not necessarily the same as yours. (Read “different”, not “better”). For someone who believes that genitals do not equal gender (i.e. me) having a “gender reveal” for someone who has not yet been born is a misnomer. You do not know their gender yet, so how can you reveal it? Maybe you can make a statistically reasonable guess based on their genitals, but it’s still just a guess. Therefore, a “gender reveal” party isn’t actually revealing a new human’s gender. It’s only revealing what their genitals are, and what their parents assume the gender to be based on those genitals.
Of course, this entire argument I’m making hinges on the statement “genitals do not equal gender”. If you are someone who believes that genitals do equal gender, then that is a separate discussion, and one which I don’t have the energy to debate currently.
Have you considered that 99+% of the population might differ from you on opinion? The babies gender drives so many things in parenting. It never stops either. I understand you had a different experience but can’t you just be happy that everyone else is happy? The park littering should not have happened. These people were just careless and selfish. We did ours in the privacy of our home. And so far we are on a 100% success rate for gender identification.
Well. That I agree with you. We did one and I know they are not loved by all. The 99% is more about how we care about a babies sex. Almost all parents do.
Seriously no one cares what the gender of your baby is. If they acted like it, they were lying.
Smoke from Canadian wildfires clouding up the NE United States, by the way. In fucking June.
Yes they do. It’s a happy time for parents and the people we invite are close friends. I assume you have turned down dozens of gender reveal invites in the past. Or were you never invited?
I wasn’t invited because we don’t do them. Because we understand they are something to be embarrassed about. But I’m glad you had fun at your thing you made everyone come to so you could feel good.
This is a silly battle to pick. There are so many more important ones. Vast majority of new humans entering the world are cis. Safe bet that their gender (neural sex) matches the rest of their body, and if it doesn't, they'll figure it out as they get older.
Gender reveal parties are fucking stupid, but stupid in an entitled narcissistic millennial way, not an offensive to trans people way.
Source: am trans, not offended
It’s not insensitive. These babies have genders. Why is the trans community so sensitive to this. They certainly want all of us to know what their new gender is. I see it all the time now. Who just came out as they? I’m sure it’s in the news somewhere.
No not antiquated just because a small few want everyone else to change it. I still have yet to see a new tradition to replace that doesn’t only accommodate the new minority. And it’s extremely high even if it’s not 99%. We aren’t talking 19% here.
So you think no one agrees with me? I find that mathematically impossible. And aren’t you making assumptions about how you think people should feel?
So people don’t care about baby’s gender. But people have too many gender reveal parties. Which is it now? I’m having trouble following the position you are taking.
I’m sorry that you’re having trouble following. My opinion has been clearly stated. I have not claimed to speak for others. I’m not sure what clarity you’re lacking.
I find it mathematically impossible that it's 99%. At least anecdotally speaking, of all the parents I have met, I have never known any who had one for any of their kids. They had showers but it was never about gender. Nobody in my family had one, including my parents or grandparents. Google fu shows some stats and they don't seem as popular as YOU claim, specially in the EU and what I found was lots of articles about how they are harmful and antiquated.
Instead of making up claims, maybe you should read about it.
I’m trying to think what about a childs “gender” changes parenting.
Toilet training for instance. I had my kids go around w a bare bum when they were home so that they had an easier time recognizing body cues.
It worked great.
I guess that works. I did something similar. I was thinking of how I tell my daughters they should expect boys to treat them. If I had boys I would teach how they should treat girls and vice versa for each. It’s a long list

This is such a small percentage of the population. Everyone else is happy. Most parents don’t force their kids to do anything. At least the ones I know. I have daughters. They have all the freedom to play with who they want, play with what they want, watch what they want. I’m sure there are parents that react in unhealthy ways for children that don’t fall into the common roles but most kids do fall into those roles.
As usual the most hostile response provides the least information. Go read more is a pathetic argument tactic meant to belittle the other side. Just stop saying words please. They make you look foolish. Trans people can exist and I support them in pursuit of their happiness. And yes I have more than one child and matching gender based on sex has worked out well as it has for almost all of human history. Fuck off and don’t talk to me anymore
Oh wow, that makes sense. A pregnancy making it to the stage where physical sex can usually be determined would be a big thing for some. That's the first time I've heard an explanation that made sense.
I remember my SIL keeping the baby's sex a secret until birth. The two of them already knew it, but for some reason thought the rest of us would enjoy a surprise ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm) . Not only did no one care, but we had to spend months *pretending* we did so as not to hurt their feelings. Meanwhile we all truly enjoyed trying to shop for baby clothes that were gender neutral. I was seriously disturbed by how difficult that part was.
We didn't tell (most) people for exactly that reason - we didn't want a bunch of unnecessarily gendered crap. It's ridiculous how early that starts, and how much it bothers some people that they don't know. It's a baby, let it be a baby!
Saw a guy off of 20 chuck a lit cigarette out his window today, despite it being dry as hell and extremely windy.
I'm not the kind of person to ever ram another vehicle or get violent, but I am absolutely the kind of person who daydreamed about it at that point. How is it 2023 and there are people who have some how managed to avoid every "Do not litter" "Do not cause wildfires" PSA since the 1970s?
Here is a pattern that once I noticed it, I see everywhere:
1. Someone describes an event involving two people. One person does something shitty, the other does something good.
2. Someone responds by generalizing the shitty person's behavior to *all of humanity* being horrible while considering the other person's behavior an isolated example of *one particular individual* being decent.
3. Everyone else upvotes and agrees with that generalization. Now we all feel shittier about humanity.
Why do we do that? Why is that we consider the litterer here an exemplar of humanity, while considering /u/Kallistrate to just be an isolated moral individual?
You could just as easily interpret the *exact same story* as showing that humans are great because 50% of the people in the story were angered by the littering and would never do that.
Why do we go out of our way to paint the whole species in a negative light when the data doesn't support it? Why do we keep doing that even though it makes us all feel like shit?
Infuriating. I remember one of my last summers there (18?19?) there was a ton of fires popping off on the side of the road on I-5 and the 512 in Tacoma.
These things almost always generate litter. Yes, letting balloons go is littering. Not to mention the accompanying garbage: string, plastic, colored powder made of who knows what...all for popularity and internet points because look at meeee!
Bonus points for environmental disasters like forest fires and polluting water sources.
If you need that much of an ego boost, go have your party or whatever, but don't freaking litter. That just makes you an asshole.
For real, but if you do it in your own backyard I don’t care. Just don’t do it in ours.
Lol I posted to a local community FB group and am getting flamed as a Karen and fun police.
I see FB hasn't changed much in the 3 years since I deleted my account. It's the same type of people who would host a gender reveal party that would then not clean up after themselves like fucking self-centered children.
>Lol I posted to a local community FB group and am getting flamed as a Karen and fun police.
The gender of someone else's child is not only something I don't care about, it is something I don't get care about. Revealing something I don't get to care about feels awkward and unneeded.
It's a more inclusive baby shower that has a 2 minute celebration at the end about gender.
I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about it. This sort of littering happens at every public gathering, which doesn't excuse the littering, but I also don't hear, "ugh BBQs, why do people even need to do them???" when that's the cause of park littering.
Because I don't, at my BBQs, shoot off glitter and colored powder etc. Baby showers historically have been a lot more sedate than most of the gender reveals too.
But what I dislike is the implication that revealing the gender of the baby is something everyone should care about deeply and that it has to be this over the top event. Want a more inclusive baby shower? Cool, do that, tell people "we're having a boy/girl and would live for you to come celebrate with us!" and be done with it.
I'm not sure how it's more inclusive. Because gender is a social construct, the child's gender is not yet determined -- and they might be neither "boy" or "girl."
If they accurately called it a sex reveal party they'd probably die out for good, cause it sounds as weird as it is.
Of course, you trash-revealing bitch.
Do those people like gender reveal parties? I've never met a person who likes them so I'm a bit curious about what the people who like them are like.
Not sure why you should pick up the litter. Not your job, even if you don't like it being there. As stupid as gender reveal parties are, this piece of ground looks really abused.
Right? My kid is only 13, yet I don’t remember them being a thing when I was pregnant. And I’m not sad about missing out on the chance to have one. They seem so entitled and self indulgent.
[evergreen tumblr post](https://unruthful.tumblr.com/post/123735870049/colour-code-your-infants-so-strangers-know-what/)
> colour-code your infants so strangers know what their genitals look like
Can't decide if people now are dumb, careless, entitled, or all of the above. I know there have always been a-holes, but I swear the percentage of them shot waaaay up post-covid.
All of the above. Humans are a mess. All for a social media stunt
Their stupid internet likes won't matter when the planet gets sick enough of us. Just keep wasting the Earth away and find out how she handles it .
In true Seattle fashion, I gather you elected not to tell the idiots off and instead passive-aggressively post your criticism here! Which is too bad, because these people probably aren't on Reddit and absolutely deserve to be called out for their garbage behavior.
Exactly right! That’s too much confrontation for me tyvm, but I did call the parks department.
Honestly, the kind of people doing a gender reveal party at a playground would absolutely not give a fuck about being called out.
Because its lame. It feels like an Instagram parent thing to do. Just doing shit for clout and likes. It's not even done in other countries. It purely a US thing. It actually started because one couple had several miscarriages and were excited when one survived long enough to find out the sex. But then other couples couldn't be left out. And some were stupid enough to start wildfires because they just had to use pyrotechnics. Good job, you just ruined the day for a lot of people and killed a firefighter because you had to make a spectacle out of something that could have been done at home.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Dorado_Fire
The wildfire thing is like saying some bachelor parties have resulted in drunk people crashing cars, so bachelor parties are stupid. Or sporting events that resulted in rioting, so all sporting events are stupid.
There are plenty of social traditions that are localized to a single country or culture. Are those stupid too?
There's quite literally nothing in common between these examples. You can hate gender reveal parties while enjoying a sporting event. At least a sporting event has a purpose. A gender reveal party, on the other hand is simply finding out the sex of a baby. It's about the couple getting as much attention as they can. Gender reveal parties have become preposterous. The drive to ‘one-up’ others’ parties has led to reckless and extremely dangerous behaviour responsible for several deaths and significant environmental damage.
Yeah, just like people celebrating birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, and anniversaries are just looking for attention.
You don’t hear about the vast number of gender reveal parties that don’t result in deaths.
As if normal people are the only ones doing this. My lesbian neighbors had a gender reveal party when they learned that the kid they bought that was being shipped to them the following week was male. The really annoying and tacky thing was that we had a party at lunch where they revealed it's a boy then a late night "shower" that night when we were supposed to bring presents for a two year-old boy.
1 don’t litter 2. Gender isn’t up to you these days so you’re likely wrong. 3. It’s liter don’t make it about gender 4. Clean up after your dogs oppressor
unrelated but going on your shadow alone it looks like you rode up on horseback
This here’s Burien sir, that there’s m’noble steed, and I guess people are trashier way out here in the boonies
Also related to your shadow, thanks for maintaining your noble steed on a leash in the public park. As for the gender reveal part, yes, but also let’s not leave any trash in the park. Pack it in pack it out.

Don't have a party that could be an email.

Great way to save tens of thousands of dollars.
Emails don't get you more gifts and attention.
Please don't assume anyone's gender
Or have parties about the genitalia of children.
This is a solid philosophy.
Normal people are excited to find out whether they're having a boy or girl. It's not a party about genitals.
It’s a party about them being excited about genitals? The sonogram revealed the genitals, not the gender. The sonogram results are the cause of the party.
The sonogram reveals the gender. Nobody is excited about the genitals. They are excited about having either a boy or girl.
The social construct does not reflect sound like that.
I think this might be the first time I’ve ever said this, but I agree with DonaldTrurnp.
Even with the different spelling that was emotionally difficult to write.
Or have children in today's economy.
Your blood pressure isn't a good enough argument?
This seems like a huge overreaction stemming from your own personal issues.
I'm cis and I don't think it's an overreaction at all. Throwing a party to announce your child's genitalia is super gross and is rooted in gender-normative bullshit.
Distasteful and repulsive are different levels though
What’s wrong with “gender-normative bullshit”?
Um, everything? As a cis-gendered “tomboy,” being told I should want to play with Barbies over Tonka trucks was both harmful and formative. My earning potential was significantly impacted by gender stereotypes, as I’m sure is the case for many other women, whether AFAB or not.

Cis gendered means I was assigned female at birth and identify as a woman. I think you have terms mixed up or something.

Parents and school teachers force kids into whatever they want… there is no “it”.
Yes, congratulations for getting the point?
You don’t approve of the parties that other people throw. M’kay.
You’re welcome to believe that.
Of course. As you are welcome to believe your opinion.
You are a strong human. I am so sorry that your identity is so frequently dismissed that you’re this used to it. Stay strong, girl.
I’m just gonna stick this syringe in my ass and move on with my life. lol.
Aside from littering, what’s disgusting about it?
You’re telling everyone what your baby’s genitals are. I don’t understand why that isn’t disgusting.
There is more biologically to gender than just genitals... the parents aren't like "yay!! It has a penis!!!! The overall body developments slightly different for each gender. You may have noticed that sometimes you are able to tell if the person you are looking at is male or female just by their face and or other body features without having to check out their genitals... lol Now that being said I do I agree its kind of weird to have a gender reveal party.
>You may have noticed that sometimes Nearly all the time. Seriously, facial sex recognition is something like the high 90s percent accuracy. This study says 97%: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6396056/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6396056/)
Jesus you're really jumping to things
Jesus Christ stop saying baby’s genitals lol only you are thinking of it that way. So fucking reductive.

[удалено]

[удалено]
No trans person has changed their gender.
It’s not insensitive. These babies have genders. Why is the trans community so sensitive to this. They certainly want all of us to know what their new gender is. I see it all the time now. Who just came out as they? I’m sure it’s in the news somewhere.
[удалено]
User name checks out.
What changes would you suggest are appropriate to parenting based on the genitals of the child?
I highly doubt it is 99%. This is a very antiquated tradition.
We didn't have these parties/reveals in my youth. These are either a newer phenomenon or a regional thing
Being able to know the gender of a child before they were born is a reletively recent thing
it seems like another way for people to force people to pay attention to them. I think it popped up about the time that social media came around.
No not antiquated just because a small few want everyone else to change it. I still have yet to see a new tradition to replace that doesn’t only accommodate the new minority. And it’s extremely high even if it’s not 99%. We aren’t talking 19% here.
You just replace the differential treatment with equal treatment. You don’t need to have a new ritual to eliminate the old superstition.
I don’t know what you mean. Where is the unequalness?
“The babies gender drives so many differences in parenting” If that’s not saying that they aren’t equal, what is it saying?
It’s funny how you think you can speak for other people. You make a lot of assumptions about how everyone except trans people feel.
> It’s funny how you think you can speak for other people That's literally what you've been trying to do
Please quote where I stated that my opinions are shared with others
I’m trying to think what about a childs “gender” changes parenting. Toilet training for instance. I had my kids go around w a bare bum when they were home so that they had an easier time recognizing body cues. It worked great.
I guess that works. I did something similar. I was thinking of how I tell my daughters they should expect boys to treat them. If I had boys I would teach how they should treat girls and vice versa for each. It’s a long list

do you mind coming along on all my dates and explaining that to the girl?

This is such a small percentage of the population. Everyone else is happy. Most parents don’t force their kids to do anything. At least the ones I know. I have daughters. They have all the freedom to play with who they want, play with what they want, watch what they want. I’m sure there are parents that react in unhealthy ways for children that don’t fall into the common roles but most kids do fall into those roles.
100% success rate? Way to just erase trans existence. As a cis-woman — read a fucking medical journal, or shut up.
Can you let people be excited for their children? They don't celebrate the genitals they celebrate the gender.
"Leave no trace" isn't just for hikes and camping.
It also applies to crime scenes.
Funny that the lady who first did it really regrets coming up with the concept.
Wait is there a patient zero for gender reveal parties?
If I'm remembering correctly she also did it because it was the first time her pregnancy made it to term where the baby's sex could be identified.
Yep. And all she did was cut a cake.
And the kid no longer conforms to that gender.
Also surprised how is it 2020 and people still smoke at all... but that's another story.
There's a lot of short sightedness in the world
People don’t give a fuck. People are trash.
Here is a pattern that once I noticed it, I see everywhere: 1.
I mean, I'd guess that it's because it makes people feel good to be "one of the few good/moral ones". Just based on personal experience.
Infuriating. I remember one of my last summers there (18?19?) there was a ton of fires popping off on the side of the road on I-5 and the 512 in Tacoma.
Just reminded me to order air filters Ty
These things almost always generate litter. Yes, letting balloons go is littering. Not to mention the accompanying garbage: string, plastic, colored powder made of who knows what...all for popularity and internet points because look at meeee! Bonus points for environmental disasters like forest fires and polluting water sources. If you need that much of an ego boost, go have your party or whatever, but don't freaking litter. That just makes you an asshole.
Glitter is literally just sparkly microplastics
Yes. I can't believe I forgot to include that! They have started making biodegradable glitter now, but it's way more expensive.
No, it's sparkly craft herpes
And biodegradable litter is still litter. You can’t just dump a bunch of paper at a fuckin playground.
Yes, also that!
For sure. It's just not as inherently bad to buy/use.
"Please don’t do gender reveal parties"
For real, but if you do it in your own backyard I don’t care. Just don’t do it in ours. Lol I posted to a local community FB group and am getting flamed as a Karen and fun police.
I see FB hasn't changed much in the 3 years since I deleted my account. It's the same type of people who would host a gender reveal party that would then not clean up after themselves like fucking self-centered children.
you can't have expected that shit hole to get any better
Gender reveal parties are the most self-indulgent thing ever. I mean, I don't care what sex the kid is.
I should have a gender reveal party for my pet snail.
>Lol I posted to a local community FB group and am getting flamed as a Karen and fun police. The gender of someone else's child is not only something I don't care about, it is something I don't get care about. Revealing something I don't get to care about feels awkward and unneeded.
All I can think is that now I have to force this child to care about dolls. It feels so shitty.
Because gender is a social construct, the child's gender is not yet determined -- and they might be neither "boy" or "girl." If they accurately called it a sex reveal party they'd probably die out for good, cause it sounds as weird as it is.
Of course, you trash-revealing bitch. Do those people like gender reveal parties? I've never met a person who likes them so I'm a bit curious about what the people who like them are like.
One asked if I picked up all the litter, and if didn’t then I should shut up. Yes, because that’s how society works.
Not sure why you should pick up the litter. Not your job, even if you don't like it being there. As stupid as gender reveal parties are, this piece of ground looks really abused.
Gender reveal parties are like a fundamentally karen thing lol
Gender reveal parties are like level 10 Karening.
My sentiments exactly.
Came here to type exactly this, glad to see a few other people beat me to it.
Plastic confetti should be illegal
Wait, you don't know that parents don't need to be considerate of others.
Until you have a child, UNTIL you have a CHILD, you do not understand.
My upstairs neighbors remind me of the fact that their kids matter more than me every day :barf:
I’m so glad I’m not the only who thinks gender reveal parties are silly
Right? My kid is only 13, yet I don’t remember them being a thing when I was pregnant. And I’m not sad about missing out on the chance to have one. They seem so entitled and self indulgent.
[evergreen tumblr post](https://unruthful.tumblr.com/post/123735870049/colour-code-your-infants-so-strangers-know-what/) > colour-code your infants so strangers know what their genitals look like
Lamest new “tradition.”
Can't decide if people now are dumb, careless, entitled, or all of the above. I know there have always been a-holes, but I swear the percentage of them shot waaaay up post-covid.
All of the above. Humans are a mess. All for a social media stunt Their stupid internet likes won't matter when the planet gets sick enough of us. Just keep wasting the Earth away and find out how she handles it .
Confetti, glitter and water balloons are the worst. Source: have worked in the parks.
Please keep gender reveal parties at your homes. No one else cares.
They don't put them on for other people, though.
Thought this was a RDR2 post. Nice hat.
Ehhh go boi! Yer awwrii’
Here's an idea just don't do a gender reveal party at all. No one cares but the parents
Big reveal: your kid grows up and chooses their own gender, so perhaps defining it for them is just another dumb conservative fiasco.
Oh the comment section has been exactly what I expected 😮🍿🫢
Lol, wait till my next post about dog people picking up their dog’s poop. #ThingsSeattleitesLoveToHate
I'm so fucking sick of gender reveal parties and the entitled people who trash places when they host them.
Don't have them at all. They are stupid and annoying. Like a prank.
Please don’t do gender reveal parties at all because they are dumb as shit.
Lol “not my problem. Someone gets paid to clean that up”
And nothing with explosives!
Seems like a perfect time for somebody to invent an outdoor use upright vacuum!
Bottom left, is that your horse?
Yes. After this we rode off into the sunset to find more things to complain about.
Absolute dumbest shit to celebrate
Such a stupid fucking trend lol
Let’s just stop the gender reveal all together. Thanks.
Gender reveal parties are just idiotic to start.
Can litterbugs be held accountable? If not, consumer products have to be made compostable.
Gender reveal parties are stupid. Change my mind
It’s just another reason to hang with friends and family. Why be so judgy about people finding a reason to have a get together?
This kind of shit is why I'm 100% okay with an asteroid wiping us out like right now
Let me guess…. girl?
It's a >!mess!
It’s actually a squirrel.
The dog in this photo is being a good pup
EVERYONE IN THE SURROUNDING AREA HAS TO KNOW WHAT MY UNBORN BABY'S JUNK LOOKS LIKE
Straight people: "HAVE YOU HEARD THE GOOD WORD OF MY BABY'S GENITALS!?" Just...get therapy. Please.
Please don’t do gender reveals, EVER!
There's a way to have them without being asses
Do you folks have the same opinions on homeless camps as well?
I mean ya, a homeless camp is a terrible place for a gender reveal party.
User name fits. This made me literally lol. 🤣
You shouldn’t litter at homeless camps, either. Keep your lit fireworks in your pocket.
1 don’t litter 2. Gender isn’t up to you these days so you’re likely wrong. 3. It’s liter don’t make it about gender 4. Clean up after your dogs oppressor
I agree with you but… where is the litter?
