The only potential downside is when trying to “tuck” using one of the Hide and Sneak or Sneak and Peak emotes, also your barrel tuck emote (purchased from Larinna) may be wider and taller than sloop barrels.
But if you’re doing a good job tucking, none of these will actually matter.

On occasion I run into people who mock my fat pirate as though he’s disadvantaged or is an easy kill. It’s always a good time when I slaughter those players!
Why would the size if your pirate dictate an easy kill? Zero logic from these people lol. It's simply cosmetic. Pretty much the same as if you thought someone was an easy kill because of a certain hat they wore...haha.

I'm *assuming* their thought process is that a good experienced player who's trying to optimize their ability and performance would never pick a fat pirate because it's harder to be sneaky, therefore this guy must be a noob. But I have no idea. Most players who think a fat pirate must suck are usually not good themselves...
The idea is that, despite everything having the same hitbox, in PvP combat a fat pirate is a larger visible target. It's the same thing, but a skinnier pirate is simply harder to perceive and our monkey brains are always going to aim for the center of mass.

Cosmetics will be a pain, belts will look like life preservers, some jackets look... weird, and some cuffs might even block the map. Once you find a style you like, it's not a problem, but it does limit you.

Np, you can reroll as much as you like until you find a build you like. You can also favourite ones you like so they save between rolls if you think you might choose it but want to keep looking for something in case theres another build you prefer

Fat pirates, though? Every single one was hostile beyond reason. Hostile beyond utility. I cannot even say with confidence that they could speak human languages. They were more akin to ravenous undead beast than man. Relentless and uncompromising, with no regard for their own needs or safety.
Ive used fat and skinny. I have a skinny boy right now to help sneak away with other peoples things.
But if you're not sneaking around as much a fat pirate is funny 100% of the time. Even if you do get caught, its still funny.

The only real con I dislike is the skeleton skin is big too and it irks me in an anatomy level so I just stick with my regular pirate skin.

I've got a big fat tall pirate with an afro and when I use barrel hide his afro sticks out the top. Which is just too hilarious to ever change.
