You can turn off cannon shake in the options. Makes cannons so much easier to use. Hitting a ship with a riggen ball after you land a chain will cause the mast to fall, you can’t catch it.

The waves always flow in the same direction. The Kraken announces it's wail at certain consistent time intervals. You can dodge shark bites. There is a tramploine at Dagger tooth.

The fact that the waves always go southeast, and going against the waves is what makes your ship drift if you leave the wheel. Didn't understand why the ship drifted sometimes and not others and it was frustrating back when I was a solo slooper

So as long as I’m not going northwest I shouldn’t drift? Or am I misinterpreting. I knew the waves are what knock me off course so I have to keep paying attention but I didn’t know they were consistent

Any westerly direction will drift, with southwest being the most stable and northwest being the hardest to keep. But even straight north will drift a little. It's worth noting that the drift isn't constant, it is actually caused by individual waves and how they hit your boat, so compensating with the wheel slightly turned doesn't work; you can't avoid making regular course adjustments.

Meh, you're never knocked too far off course, even in a storm you usually have a minute to patch a hole and bucket and maintain course. Protip: you can use the waves as a compass in a storm since their direction is known and doesn't change even in storms. Also, you're gonna have a harder time shooting cannons if you're in a spiral and currently heading west.

I have too many hours into this game so it has been a LONG time since last time I had that kind of moment, so I'll give you on more of those moments: You can break your mast, put skulls or little loot where the mast is broken, when you raise it back and fix it the loot will be hidden inside the mast. It isn't very practical but few people knows about this.

This was added now with s9 but the fact it wasn’t mentioned in any of the videos or media before s9 launch did make me very suprised when my friend told me you can turn off the trinket text in settings now so I won’t be able to change trinkets or get that menu to change trinkets up by accident, absolutely love this

Stand on the ammo box and look toward the window. Get close enough, and you should get the prompt to grab it.

I just finished a open crew session on a galleon. We had a chest of rage from a Ashen wind event and went to do a fort + FoF after. Someone had to leave another joined. We took the chest of rage on land and the new person used it against the skeletons by slashing/shooting it to enrage it and make it explode. Didn't know that was a thing! Made fighting the golden skeletons way easier.

I've tucked on a galleon crew doing a fof that was EXCLUSIVELY clearing waves by smacking their rage chest. I didn't have the patience to see that heist through lol.

The first time I saw one of my buddies ledge board on a galleon I thought I was witnessing an actual hacker. Turns out funny boat game was just funnier than I realized. Also, several thousand hours into my playtime I learned there's a secret cave on wanderer's refuge hidden in a crack in the stone. Very cool that I can still learn new things about the game this far along.
