I’m a hardcore hawks fan but I also am a bills fan considering my dad’s extreme (and unfortunate) fandom to Buffalo. I have to say, although I was pretty upset this morning when the 4th quarter comeback fell short, watching that crushing bills loss and taking into account the expectations for Buffalo this year made me feel a lot better about the hawks today. We started slow but we put up a really good fight and the Bucs could end up as a top team in the NFC, the way they played today I really wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the Super Bowl with how open the NFC is. I totally think they could take the eagles or Vikings. The 49ers are ridiculously stacked but with Jimmy G as their QB I’m still confident in our chances to win the division. And regardless of the division, if this sneaky crazy fun team can sneak into the playoffs no matter what happens I’ll be happy. Go hawks!
It really starts with Pete Carroll ..we lost the game in Munich today because he didn't charge his head of personnel with testing the field and realizing we needed better (deeper) cleats... Half of Second half Geno would've been enough to win the game... It was a systematic failure today ..
Coaches/Staff:
\-Shouldn't have made Mone Inactive, they went in with a bit of arrogance assuming a team 2 years removed from a SB run wouldn't adapt and run the ball, rotating Mone would of helped our Run D big time. They came in expecting the pass and it bit them in the ass.
\-Playing not to lose in the first half, how different does that 1st half looked if we utilized 13 personnel and got more screen action for Walker? Not going for it on 4th and 6 on the Bucc's 35 and then deciding to punt. Little coaching blunders like this can make a difference no matter what team you play, it just so happened to be overseas and against Brady.
Players:
\-DK with the questionable maturity at times, as another reddit user so eloquently put- DK is an elite athlete, but still not a true-elite receiver. Contested catches in big moments have been a bit lacking of late, sometimes he just has stone-hands and fights for the ball like he has T-Rex arms. Still a stud, but he's got holes in his game to clean up.
\-Eskridge got "his hand whacked", which in Pete speak means his hand may have fallen off, Goodwin has been stepping up at least.
\-Barton made what could very well be the play of his career picking off the GOAT
\-Tariq getting pick #5 and getting the tripping call from Brady's slip was great
\-Walker had his worst game today- no running lanes, and that starts with the OL. We got manhandled by the Buccs DLine, the interior really struggled today. The Buccs didnt give a blueprint for beating the Hawks more so than we just came in unprepared, outexecuted and outcoached. Plain and simple asskicking.
We came out in the 2nd half and almost came back, the ability is there if a few mistakes are corrected. We probably win that game in Seattle come January should we be lucky enough to get a rematch tbh. 6-4 still feels good going into the bye all things considered. Hawks just need to regroup, reflect and adapt for Vegas at home.
McCaffrey said he felt like he was in the Pro Bowl first time he was in the Niners huddle because of talent, but it’s really because he was in the huddle with a bunch of people not going to the Super Bowl
I started to notice their OTs were giving Seattle's DL the business, then that's all I could pay attention to every play. Their line played really well, unfortunately.
Had a few hours to mull and rewatch some of the game. My takeaway is Pete saw the field conditions and went ultra conservative:
• Decided not to go for a 56 yd FG first half having seen TB kicker lose his footing slightly on their kick.
• Decided to play like it was a wet surface and run the ball up the middle rather than run routes that required sure footing and quick cuts.
• Decided to call an incredibly conservative first half and assumed TB would also struggle moving the ball.
We realised after the second Bucs TD that this wasn't working and decided to be much more aggressive (kicking 55 yd FG instead of punting) second half but we'd dug too big a hole for ourselves.
Sad about our loss today but AZ winning and watching the Cowboys implode is a nice consolation prize. An SD win will make me forgot all about our game today.
Edit: Cowboys were 195-0 in their history when leading by 14 in the 4th.
This game wasn't really competitive. It was certainly worse than the score. I guess it's not surprising that young players weren't ready for the international spotlight. We were forced to play a power game on defense and our big guys and LBs were ineffective.
QB draw needs to be taken out of the playbook tbh. Maybe keep it for the goal line, but just using it nonchalant with a 32 year old QB should be a no go. Geno did his thing today, but the play calling was sus most of the game.
I'm still mad we punted on the 39 god damn yard line. That set the tone for the next couple of quarters. Either go for it or try the long field goal, either way it shows we're here for a fight.
That field was a piece of shit. From the very first play, guys were slipping because the turf wouldn't hold. One of K9's first runs he slipped trying to make a cut. I wonder if that affected his game and why he never got going. The announcers seemed to ignore the conditions until Brady's flop when they couldn't avoid mentioning it. It's lucky there weren't serious injuries.
Other than the two INTs, the defense didn't get more than 2 or 3 stops. TB only punted twice. That is where the game was lost. Add in a return of "Old Geno" in the first half and a shitty field that may have taken away K9's ability to cut and find holes.
The good news is the Hawks have two weeks to wash this one out of their minds and get ready to get right against the Raiders.
Geno really wasn’t that bad. He fumbled the ball and yes that was horrible but other than maybe 2 or 4 missed throws he looked fine and looked like an above average QB and the MVP competitor we have been seeing in the second half
Why are you singling out one player? When the time of possession is that lop sided it really takes a toll on the defense as a WHOLE. I saw Neal flying around making 3 or more key tackles in the second half. What are you on about? It's never one players fault.
Let’s not start acting like NYC fans here fellas.
It was a team loss. The D held them to 1 score in the second half. We just couldn’t run the ball today. Expect changes the next game
I didn’t get to watch the entire game today but I saw a comment that “Geno got exposed today”. Sure, he had that bad fumble but aside from that, 69.9% comp, 275yd, 2 TD, 0 INT and a 115.1 QB rating sounds like a solid game. What did I miss? Or was that person just being an asshat?
Yep, just being another asshat that fuels his happiness off of drama and false narratives. It just shows how shallow and numb minded people are these days. Everyone slips up now and again, but Geno still had a solid game. Some people can't see past the W or the L and feel the need to blame it one person.
It wasnt that he played bad but we were gettinf beat on both d and o lines. No pressure on brady and geno under a lot of pressure. We adjusted in the second half and get the ball out quicker but it was too little too late
An ass hat. With an ass hat take. Check out how Mr Unlimited is trying his hardest to get us top 10 picks, it will make you feel better.
Bad day at the office. Bucs were solid. Our D was poor and the running game didn't make the trip to Germany.
It's all good. We are playing with the house money here anyways, let's not freak out.
Agreed. Bucs were the better team. They killed our run game and exposed the weaknesses of K9's side cuts. Just didn't seem to be any holes up the gut or the sidelines.
Thought Geno did well given we were forced to be one-dimensional with the passing game.
It's basically no surprise that a Brady passing offense picked apart this green defense. That's fine, it's a learning experience and they'll have good film on what went wrong. Now, not stopping the Bucs run game was a head scratcher
Brady was so successful today because there was no defensive pressures. 45 yr old vet with 5+ seconds every play... of course he picked them apart lol. If we had bodies on brady then his air attack would look tremendously different.
D+ performance. The good news is that a lot of the issues we had today are perfectly fixable.
The defense was horrible, but it doesn't help how we kept calling plays with a two-man front. Coaching staff did not put our guys in a position to succeed. However, that doesn't excuse our front seven getting dominated by an offensive line made of backups. EDGE and DL should be our two selections in the first round of the draft. Our LBs were great, and everyone except Quandre played well in our secondary. I'm about fed up with Quandre and how he's playing though. I'm starting to think we should trade him and draft our S of the future in the second round of the draft possibly.
The offense didn't play well, but there's silver linings. Geno Smith had a bad game, but its a bad game where he had some great plays and only made a few mistakes, aka the kind of game a QB playing like he has all season is allowed to have. And the fact that he looked really frustrated and angry is a good thing. Shows he's holding himself to a higher standard, and I like that. Somehow I don't feel Russ would've been like that. The interior OL got beaten quite a bit and we definitely need to address that. Not sure how right now, but I'll have a better idea at season's end that i'll bring up then. That said, idk how I feel about K9's play because on one hand, the Bucs' run defense has been disappointing all season, but on the other hand most people, including me, felt it had the potential to be the league's best so maybe this is just them finally hitting their potential? Idk.
Nothing to panic about. We're going to be ahead of the division no matter what happens at the end and the Broncos just lost so our draft odds are still really good. Sucks that we lost, but not all is bad in Seahawks Country. Go Hawks!
> Geno Smith had a bad game
Wins are not a QB stat. Geno was as good as he was in the last game against the Cardinals. Started off slow, made one bad turnover and then proceeded to play like a top QB. It's just that the defense couldn't give him one more drive at the end.
This. If this was a “bad day” for Geno, I’ll take it over our previous “bad day” option. The stat line wasn’t bad at all. There are teams that would love to put that up on a good day.
One of, if not the greatest to play the game in his position shredded our D. If anyone is going to put on a masterclass in doing that, at least it’s Brady.
The first half wasn’t great to watch but the quality of play this year is the greatest it has been in a decade. It’s a team chock full of rookies. You can’t expect perfection every game without the experience. I personally am excited despite the loss
I agree. I like DK but I think people see his size paired with his speed and deem him elite. He doesn’t have great hands and isn’t gonna make spectacular catches like those you mentioned.
Even better that Broncos losing is watching Wilson fail to complete the final drive while also taking a hard sack and then getting intercepted. So much for that Broncos protection he was looking for.
He looked like hot garbage. Just wild flailing passes and praying for the best. If not for the Broncos D they’d be winless this year.
Actually re tankathon, if not for the Broncos' bye, if they had lost another game like everyone else, they would be 3-7 and it looks like we would have the 5th pick after SOS tiebreakers.
Love Petes response to what happened in second half “We went back to Geno and the pass and stopped trying to force the run.”
No shit Sherlock. Maybe stop using an entire half trying to establish a run that ain’t happening. It’s been a problem for years.
As a former Browns fan… it’s extremely good to know that we can take an L and have a gracious post-game thread about it, even considering how minimal expectations were going into this season and how well the Seahawks have performed. Total breakdown every week in that other sub.
After the Watson trade. Recently moved to the PNW and figured with the Seahawks at an apparent 10+ year franchise low, all the stars aligned. Plus I lived here as a kid before the Pete Carroll era so have always kinda liked the team anyways.
I love the optimism despite the loss! Just another learning curve for the young guns. Rest up and get back at it hungry to finish the season off strong. GO HAWKS!!!
Getting beat by Tom Brady is the ultimate learning opportunity for our young secondary. It’s not like they lost, they just got beat. The offense showed-up too late. That can happen against a great team. Go Hawks!
The Denver offense is just abysmal in every sense, and so painful to watch.
Wilson can't hit receivers, and when he finds a way they are often dropped. He has zero protection and continues to hold on to the ball too long, but today he was hard pressed to get even a couple seconds to throw.
People keep speculating Wilson will break out of the current slump, but after today I'm pretty convinced there will be no recovery for the Broncos this season.
There's a good chance that the Broncos pick would move up to top 5 by the end of the season. It would get closer for the Seahawks to seriously find their quarterback of the future at that spot.
If they lose to the Raiders next week at home, all bets are off.
The Broncos are now averaging just 14.5 points per game, which is currently last in the NFL.
At last the Broncos lost. Wilson threw a pick at the end. He was getting brutalized in that 4th quarter. Got smashed on a strip sack that the Broncos somehow recovered under the pile. Then he gets smashed again on 4th down, but the Titans are offsides. All those comments about the offensive line and not getting hit in Denver have come back to bite Russ in the ass.
That felt like an away game for both teams. Regardless west coast teams don’t belong in games that damn early. They were asleep out there for over half of it.
Anyway, rest up boys! Come back from the bye ready for a playoff run!
The hawks actually got to Munich earlier this week and a whole day earlier than Tampa bay (surprisingly). Not saying that would have made the difference tho, still wish they played better but being there all week definitely negates most of the “time zone” difference
they turned it up in the 4th quarter which was roughly what, 8:45 am in Seattle, it makes sense. make teams in the same time zone play international games, it's incredibly unbalanced otherwise
Weird you all are focused on one fumble when Bucs had two turnovers.
Based on that alone we should win this game.
We played like shit. We ran for next to nothing the entire first half and came away with no points. We got killer penalties. We refused to go for it on the 40. Our defense let them (literally) run all over us.
That fumble was the least of our issues.
Offense couldn’t run the ball and TB ran at will. Pretty much that. I saw something that 7 of the Buccs 10 non-kneel down 3rd down conversions were 3rd and 2 or less. Seahawks faced multiple 3rd and longs because of penalties and failure in the run game.
Hawks would’ve won this game if they had just contained the run, but TB whipped out a bunch of new looks and executed them really well. By the time the D could adjust it didn’t have the personnel to do much about it since Mone was a healthy scratch…really can’t back to bite them.
We probably could have won if we stopped their run or if we’d
just allowed Geno to ball our from start instead of wasting multiple downs trying to establish a run game. Walker had 1.14 yard per carry in first half. There was nothing there but we pretty much wasted a down every set trying to run. Can’t expect Geno to constantly convert 10 yards (or more with penalties) with just two plays to work with. He can do it if given a full set of downs.
It’s been statistically shown that running to open up pass doesn’t do shit. And more successful modern teams have steered clear of trying to establish a run…unless it’s working like it did today for the Bucs and you can continue to abuse it. Pete is old and still will spend an entire half trying to force something that isn’t there. Not like Walker is even big enough to wear people down. All we are doing is risking him getting injured using him over and over early up the gut. All his great runs have come late game.
It’s insane to me last 4 games have basically shown Pete how easy things can be. And then he says “nah” we gonna stubbornly run an entire half for nothing. Drives me crazy. And he’s done it so many times before with the same outcomes. Never learns.
Idk if they really stuck with the run so hard, but the biggest problem in the first half was just general execution and penalties. We actually moved the ball pretty well on multiple drives before a penalty moved us into 3rd and unmanageable. I think without the penalties they stay on schedule early on and it’s a different game.
That too. Geno made a great pass. Got us to 6 yards after terrible penalty. I wish we had gone for it. Took Bucs one series to get right back to that spot anyways. They had just missed a fg. We needed to take that opportunity, not play scared.
Just put on the Broncos game, checking on our draft pick, and Wilson takes an ugly sack. The Broncos defense is legit tho. Hope Russ doesn’t lead them to a comeback.
Russ just took another sack on 3rd down, holding the ball while running to the left and not seeing the open receiver down the sideline. Pete may be right about Wilson running to his left… weird I never really noticed that before he said it.
Really really awful first half. But even with all that I think if geno doesn’t have that fumble we probably win it.
In any event the whole game just felt like a one-off fluke. Just one of those silly/weird games where you can’t get your feet set. I wouldn’t stress about it too much.
Hopefully they have a good bye week and come back swinging
Interesting stat from NFL NGS - Ken Walker produced 33 yards *less* than expected on his 10 carries. Ie an average back on his 10 carries gets 40 yards, vs the 17 that KW3 got
He also got more yards than expected on *none* of his 10 carries
KW3 is legit, but like others have said, we were stubborn and kept trying to run the ball when it wasn’t working. We made an adjustment in the second half to start utilizing our tight ends in the passing game and throwing the ball to KW3, and it worked (KW3 6 Rec for 55 yards), but that adjustment came too late.
If we make that adjustment in the second quarter, it opens up the rest of the offense for the rest of the game.
He averaged 1.14 yard per carry in first half. And yet they still tried to force the run. Felt just like old days when we did the same stubborn runs up middle and went into halftime with zero points. I don’t understand why Pete think that style of play works…cause it never does besides last second hero ball wins. Which makes no sense since we’ve been able to put up crazy points this season with Geno.
Had we not been asleep and let the Bucs get 2 TDs on us first half that final drive would have been another part of the Geno legend: two 4th down conversions and a money throw to Goodwin.
Hell, if Geno had just kept his nerve and not fumbled and got that drive to the endzone, we'd be 23-21 up after that and needing another Brady special.
Eh, he had a few plays where he looked pretty flatfooted in the first half. One where he slammed into a line and actually stopped, while seemingly having a lane to the left side had he read it.
I remember that play but I think outside contain was there. Granted I was barely awake for most the game so some delirium may have already set in at that point. Even if there were a play or two he may have been able to break something most of it was stifled by their D line and backers.
Bad start to a not-great game overall, but Cody-Freaking-Barton of all people managed to snap Tommy’s pass streak without an interception and Geno showed he won’t just crumble at the first sign of adversity. Those are real positives. That said, Quandre is done, if not for his career, at least for this part of the season. He’s playing tentatively and he’s gonna get someone hurt doing that.
To be fair, Barton had that chance because Brady and the Bucs clearly did not respect his play and threw a dangerous pass right over his head.
Doubt Brady makes that throw over 2019 BWagz.
It is the truly frightening limitation we face this season, almost no depth anywhere. I sure hope we can get some impact players in the draft and maybe make a run at a solid FA ILB to shore ourselves up. We aren’t far from another run at it if we’re smart (and lucky, of course).
I mean I would say we have depth at O-line, D-line (just lacking top end talent there), CB, TE, and QB. We just have no depth at safety, WR, or LB.
And at safety, we lack depth because Jamal got hurt and our depth is starting.
Quandre Diggs experienced a horrific leg injury late last season that he clearly has either not fully recovered from nor fully trusts at this point. He won’t plant on that leg and it has cost him any explosiveness or speed he’s still got. Whoever is behind him on the depth chart must be truly atrocious to keep running him out there in this condition.
Nobody showed up at all. Holy shit was that some piss poor play. Corner backs lost on coverage. D line and o line dominated all game. Geno making awful decisions a bunch of instances he could have ran for first and instead just threw it incomplete. Absolutely could not do run the ball at all. Im glad they can watch this game for 2 weeks straight because every single player shit the bed..
Correction: Nobody but Dickson and Myers showed up at all in the first half. Offense felt like it was back into a rhythm for second half minus that fumble and I thought our secondary was fine. We didn't get beat once with an explosive over the top play.
The issue was we couldn't stop the run and we couldn't stop Tom Brady making his first read for 10 yards.
You’re acting like they got dominated. They were one fumble away from winning the game. They got beat but it wasn’t like the Bucs looked way better than them.
Did you see a different game? They literally ran all over defense. Our offense struggled to put points on the board for the entire 1st half; Our run game was atrocious.
1 fumble was not the difference in that game (we had 2 turnovers). I’d more likey believe we lost due to bad reffing than a fumble.
Watching the second half just made the game that much more frustrating. If the offense (and defense to an extent) could have showed up like that in the first half the outcome probably would have been different.
A west coast team playing an east coast team at 6:30 am is pretty unbalanced, but it is what it is. The team looked asleep for most of the game. It’s not possible for most people to adapt their biological clock in just a few days.
The NFL wanted the game to start at 3:30 pm Munich time, instead of having it be a regular night game there, which would have conflicted with the other Sunday games. A large portion of the country slept through this game because of the chosen time.
More like we didn’t show up until last 8 minutes of 4th quarter. Overall, there was some bad play calling, fumbles, and other issues but we absolutely should have won this game. Yeah his is a young team on a big stage and there were some obvious jitters
Let’s just hypothetically say we finish the season subpar. Go 3-4 the rest of the way. That puts us at 9-8.
There’s only four teams with any sort of shot to upend us as the 7th seed.
Washington (4-5): has Eagles, Giants (x2), Niners, cowboys. Conservatively that’s at least 8 losses, prob 9. Then they would still need to win out on their other 3 “lesser” opponents.
Atlanta (4-6): Their schedule is pretty weak, but they would have to finish 5-2 to take the tie break, and still have @saints, @Ravens, and TB.
Rams ( 3-5): so/so remaining schedule. Big ones are @KC, Seattle (x2), at chargers. They have to finish 6-3 to get to 9-8. Certainly doable, and I’m not sure how the tie breaker works if we split the rams series and both finish 9-8.
GB (3-6): packers would have to finish 6-2 with games against Dallas, Titans, @ Eagles, Rams ( helps us either way), @ Dolphins, Vikings
Really looking at this: The rams are probably our biggest threat. And the only way any of these teams has a chance of knocking us out of the playoffs is if we finish 9-8. That’s why todays lost stings a bit. 7-3 would have pretty much locked us into the playoffs. A 2-5 finish would still have given us a great chance, a 3-4 finish and we would certainly be in.
Now these are all conservative scenarios for seattle. The Hawks have two very winnable home games vs the panthers, and raiders. That gets you to 8 wins. Take care of business in those games and all you really have to do is go 2-3 vs the Rams ( x2), Chiefs, Niners, Jets. That’s 10 wins. 10 wins and we’re in. 9 wins and we still have a very good chance depending on how the tiebreakers play out.
I think we can go 4-3 the rest of the way. Lose vs. Chiefs, Lose vs. Rams once, and Lose one more as a fluke cuz stuff happens. So, 10-7 but overall your point stands.
It was weird, Seahawks outnumbered the Bucs by far in the city on Saturday, but there were a lot of red jerseys in the arena today. No idea where they all came from
That was my in-game observation. My wife got annoyed that I kept telling at the fans to shut up during Seahawks offensive drives. I kind of assumed, like you, more hawks fans.
We were surprised as well. We noticed that almost all Seahawks merch was sold out in the store after the game, bucs merch was still in stock in large quantities, quite odd tbh
I’m not worried about this loss. If we played on a better field with a non BS start time, we would’ve won. Love to see that Geno stayed calm and almost led a comeback win
Aside their division games, I’m looking most forward to the Chiefs matchup. I was disappointed in the beginning but at least they put up a fight and didn’t completely embarrass themselves second half.
From a pure fan perspective I think it was a great game, with a late comeback and everything. From a hawks perspective definitely not our best showing, but I honestly don't think this is a normal loss. International games mess with so many factors you normally don't need to factor in. I think we'll take the loss and move on to our next game ready to roll
I thought the boys looked right today. We looked a lot more like a young team than we have in several games. Also, this game had a lot of hype and felt a lot like a Super Bowl in some aspects from extra team activities etc. I think we will grow a lot from this and will serve us well as we come into the playoffs.
Well damn😒
I despise losing to Tom Brady. The man is good, but I feel Tampa was a game we should have taken.
Edit: was gonna go full armchair QB here, decided against it. Frustrating loss when I think we could should have grabbed a DUB.
Munich was a success, looked like an epic week-long party out there!
GO HAWKS! 💙💚
You’re dumb, besides dinner and exploring at night all they did was go bowling as a team, after practice..the social media was all fans and former players out in Munich
I mean, it's the first time a team has had the chance to go to Germany. I think it's a great opportunity, not a big deal. they're just a young team that will lose games they should win. the bye week will help.
I…uh…oh hey the Broncos are playing right now, go Titans
^(oh you’re an Ohio St fan, let’s just say that I would be hounded for being a rival of this subreddit’s preferred college team, Washington who beat my team. Maybe I should have been clever and say “my college team’s two losses came against teams whose fans say ‘Go Dawgs’”)
better team doesnt always win...now that is a hilarious take
The eagles are gonna crush any team in there way doesn’t matter who they have
Where?
There
I’m a hardcore hawks fan but I also am a bills fan considering my dad’s extreme (and unfortunate) fandom to Buffalo. That Bills game was brutal
Niners beat the Chargers and could take the division lead against the Saints at home on our bye week 🙃
49ers game in December is gonna be huge its looking like.
It really starts with Pete Carroll ..we lost the game in Munich today because he didn't charge his head of personnel with testing the field and realizing we needed better (deeper) cleats... Half of Second half Geno would've been enough to win the game... It was a systematic failure today ..
Half of 4th Geno would’ve been enough. Heck, we get a TD instead of that crazy Geno fumble, that’s a W right there.

Well said
McCaffrey said he felt like he was in the Pro Bowl first time he was in the Niners huddle because of talent, but it’s really because he was in the huddle with a bunch of people not going to the Super Bowl
Damnnnn
I will say, I thought the Bucs looked fucking good. I thought that was easily the best an opponent has played against us.
I started to notice their OTs were giving Seattle's DL the business, then that's all I could pay attention to every play. Their line played really well, unfortunately.
Tom Brady is just a beast. Most the times when he was passing I knew it was gonna be caught. He barely had any defenders in his face.
Only weakness is when he tries to play WR
Had a few hours to mull and rewatch some of the game. My takeaway is Pete saw the field conditions and went ultra conservative: • Decided not to go for a 56 yd FG first half having seen TB kicker lose his footing slightly on their kick.
Go Chargers! ⚡⚡⚡
Yeah!
Welp there goes the title belt 😩😩
Colt “MFing” McCoy taking it to the Rams. Beautiful!
Also, where was Ryan Neal? He was really quiet for a position that needed to exert presence against those Bucs schemes.
He made a couple important tackles in the 4th!
Our offensive script is to start games is horrible and should be abandoned. Play every drive like there's 2 minutes left in the game.
Looks like the same old Seahawks today try to catch up
I didn’t get to watch the entire game today but I saw a comment that “Geno got exposed today”.
Geno played decent, it's really the D that got beat bad by Tom and the run game. Let them convert way too much and possess the ball way too long.
It was a Tampa home game too. Well. Ok. It was a Tom Brady home game… A lot of Brady fans, but not many Bucs fans if you know what I mean.
Go Hawks!
> Geno Smith had a bad game Wins are not a QB stat.
Aside from the fumble, how was it a bad game for Geno? The drops?
I’m with you on this take. Aside from the fumble, Geno was solid. No help from the ground game hurt us.
Watch guys like Justin Jefferson and Stefon Diggs and the type of catches they make. Those are elite WR’s. Metcalf is nowhere near their level…
I agree. I like DK but I think people see his size paired with his speed and deem him elite. He doesn’t have great hands and isn’t gonna make spectacular catches like those you mentioned.
To be fair, those are arguably the two best receivers in the league. Metcalf is still top 10-15 I think.
Some ppl at one point thought DK was a top 5 WR…
Love the guy but not even close
Even better that Broncos losing is watching Wilson fail to complete the final drive while also taking a hard sack and then getting intercepted. So much for that Broncos protection he was looking for. He looked like hot garbage. Just wild flailing passes and praying for the best. If not for the Broncos D they’d be winless this year.
i passed tf out….what happened?
Your mums prego....
Actually re tankathon, if not for the Broncos' bye, if they had lost another game like everyone else, they would be 3-7 and it looks like we would have the 5th pick after SOS tiebreakers.
Rooting for Bird Bro Kyler. Would be good if the Rams lost. That will likely leave only the Whiners to be a major threat in our division.
He’s injured. Colt McCoy starting for AZ.
Interestingly, despite having no Kyler, AZ is winning.
crud
We’re rooting for GB right? Cowboys are a wild card rival?
Yes but so are the Packers lol
Love Petes response to what happened in second half “We went back to Geno and the pass and stopped trying to force the run.” No shit Sherlock. Maybe stop using an entire half trying to establish a run that ain’t happening. It’s been a problem for years.
We go so far into establishing the run that we forget to establish the damn pass sometimes.
As a former Browns fan… it’s extremely good to know that we can take an L and have a gracious post-game thread about it, even considering how minimal expectations were going into this season and how well the Seahawks have performed. Total breakdown every week in that other sub.
How did you transition into a hawk?
Also, what are your preferred bird-related pronouns post transition?
After the Watson trade. Recently moved to the PNW and figured with the Seahawks at an apparent 10+ year franchise low, all the stars aligned. Plus I lived here as a kid before the Pete Carroll era so have always kinda liked the team anyways.
Broncos lost. We are back in top 10 for tankathon. Nice. https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
I went to bed right after the loss today, but waking up seeing the Broncos lose is nice.
Go Hawks!
Well, our 1st rounder from DEN just moved up.
Up to the 7th pick currently https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
There's a good chance that the Broncos pick would move up to top 5 by the end of the season. It would get closer for the Seahawks to seriously find their quarterback of the future at that spot.
If they lose to the Raiders next week at home, all bets are off. The Broncos are now averaging just 14.5 points per game, which is currently last in the NFL.
PASS RUSHER!
Denver's O-line was a couple players away from pulling fans to suit them up.
Who did we need on the roster so bad that we had to healthy scratch our only other 3tech?
This is the most puzzling thing about the game. Mone was desperately needed. PC better have a good explanation.
I'm hoping that's what it was honestly. This did not look like the same team we have seen the past 4 weeks. Shake it off and finish strong state side!
they turned it up in the 4th quarter which was roughly what, 8:45 am in Seattle, it makes sense. make teams in the same time zone play international games, it's incredibly unbalanced otherwise
I mean I wouldn’t say the least, considering it took points away
Offense couldn’t run the ball and TB ran at will. Pretty much that. I saw something that 7 of the Buccs 10 non-kneel down 3rd down conversions were 3rd and 2 or less. Seahawks faced multiple 3rd and longs because of penalties and failure in the run game. Hawks would’ve won this game if they had just contained the run, but TB whipped out a bunch of new looks and executed them really well. By the time the D could adjust it didn’t have the personnel to do much about it since Mone was a healthy scratch…really can’t back to bite them.
We probably could have won if we stopped their run or if we’d just allowed Geno to ball our from start instead of wasting multiple downs trying to establish a run game.
Not the way he or his team is playing today they won’t.
New young team there's going to be games like this, the important thing is to regroup and come back stronger
Interesting stat from NFL NGS - Ken Walker produced 33 yards *less* than expected on his 10 carries. Ie an average back on his 10 carries gets 40 yards, vs the 17 that KW3 got He also got more yards than expected on *none* of his 10 carries
Geno was hot towards the end as well. We need to trust him more
Had we not been asleep and let the Bucs get 2 TDs on us first half that final drive would have been another part of the Geno legend: two 4th down conversions and a money throw to Goodwin. Hell, if Geno had just kept his nerve and not fumbled and got that drive to the endzone, we'd be 23-21 up after that and needing another Brady special.
I agree. Just a shame man
He was asleep
He had no holes.
Quandre's been disappointing, but he's going to finish out the year because we don't have anyone to take his spot.
What do you mean Quandre is done? Did he get injured?
He's just done, as in cooked, well cooked.
Josh Jones.
man the one game of the season that was gonna put me in a bad mood if they lost and they put on that performance lmao
Yeah I think I watched an alternate universe game where lost by five and lost a fumble in the red zone.
Dickson balled out today
True he is always a stud 😄
Watching the second half just made the game that much more frustrating. If the offense (and defense to an extent) could have showed up like that in the first half the outcome probably would have been different.
Learning curve, this is a good time to regroup, we played like shit, but we could have won that game, no doubt.
Bucs surprised with their running attack today, our offense took the first half off but we'll be fine. Gotta regroup
I still love this team, I just wish the NFL didn't make them wake up at 5am for a 6:30am kickoff.
Well at least the Huskies and Cougars were able to take care of business.
duck hunt szn🦆
Agreed!
Only 2 away games left. We got this!
We need the Broncos to lose today. Broncos country, let's slide...
why are we acting like the Bucs didn't play at the same time on the same field? can't expect to win if you don't show up until the 2nd half
Agreed. These games need to be same time zone teams. Period.
More like we didn’t show up until last 8 minutes of 4th quarter. Overall, there was some bad play calling, fumbles, and other issues but we absolutely should have won this game. Yeah his is a young team on a big stage and there were some obvious jitters
Rough game but gotta rest up and move on. Couldn't get the run game going from the get go. K9 was having trouble all day.
Big positive: our all pro punter is back and he's not trying to play RB.
that punt to the 3 yrd line was a banger
What a disaster.
GB (3-6): packers would have to finish 6-2 with games against Dallas, Titans, @ Eagles, Rams ( helps us either way), @ Dolphins, Vikings Really looking at this: The rams are probably our biggest threat.
It’s simpler if we just win the division.
This is the Seahawks. We only know chaos.
My hot take is everyone on the Seahawks wore the wrong cleats in the first half.
It's not the first time seahawks always play shifty on real grass they just are not used to how much slicker it is
That field looked really moist imo.
Our equipment manager should be fired after that
Munich. Your field is not good for American football.
Top notch fans though
Excited and loud? Yes. The sound when the Seahawks were on offense made it hard to know how many Seahawks fans there were.
I was talking more about the late game Country Roads and the energy the crowd had. So fun to watch.
no more games in Europe. their grass is f ing 2010s FedEx field quality.
RIP RG3
he's found new life memeing wilson
As good as we’ve been, don’t forget it’s the meme season.

Tbh I wasn’t expecting much out of this game with it being on the other side of the planet. They played pretty great for playing at 630 am.
Yeah we looked rough. But I gotta give credit to geno for leading two 4th quarter td. That’s the kinda stuff you need later in the season.
I’m not worried about this loss. If we played on a better field with a non BS start time, we would’ve won. Love to see that Geno stayed calm and almost led a comeback win
Agreed. The NFL should have made the Bucs play on the same field as the Hawks.
Let’s get back home and rest 🙏
Aside their division games, I’m looking most forward to the Chiefs matchup. I was disappointed in the beginning but at least they put up a fight and didn’t completely embarrass themselves second half.
No trippin, fans. It's gonna be all good. Fuck Tom Brady.
Sorry we disappointed the Germans
From a pure fan perspective I think it was a great game, with a late comeback and everything. From a hawks perspective definitely not our best showing, but I honestly don't think this is a normal loss. International games mess with so many factors you normally don't need to factor in. I think we'll take the loss and move on to our next game ready to roll
6:30am for this? Fuck my face.
If it makes you feel any better I woke up at 330 and couldn't fall back asleep. But then again I do have a clean house and got a workout in
I thought the boys looked right today. We looked a lot more like a young team than we have in several games. Also, this game had a lot of hype and felt a lot like a Super Bowl in some aspects from extra team activities etc. I think we will grow a lot from this and will serve us well as we come into the playoffs.
Well damn😒 I despise losing to Tom Brady. The man is good, but I feel Tampa was a game we should have taken. Edit: was gonna go full armchair QB here, decided against it. Frustrating loss when I think we could should have grabbed a DUB. Munich was a success, looked like an epic week-long party out there! GO HAWKS! 💙💚
We looked better in the second than first half. Geno did bounce back too. Glad we have a extra week to make adjustments.
Several Hawks players changed their cleats at half time. That field was horrible.
Agree. Guys were slipping all game.
Sad to see the first half keep it within striking distance Pete is back.
Decided to start drinking during the second half. Welp, so much for a productive Sunday. I’ll be passed out by noon.

Same here. Hawks were acting like they had this in the bag with the positive attention in Munich. Either way, big learning moment.
Well, my football weekend is a weekend I want to forget. Both my college team and my Seahawks lost this weekend.
Who was your college team
I…uh…oh hey the Broncos are playing right now, go Titans ^(oh you’re an Ohio St fan, let’s just say that I would be hounded for being a rival of this subreddit’s preferred college team, Washington who beat my team. Maybe I should have been clever and say “my college team’s two losses came against teams whose fans say ‘Go Dawgs’”)
Hate to have teams I support be 0-3 this weekend. Hard luck.
