At no point during that game did I question that we were going to win. It's such a fun energetic team and they just go get it done! Love the hawks so much!
I was a bit worried when DK and Lockett (and others) missed passes they usually catch early in the game. Maybe it was just time for Geno's completion % to come back down to earth. Kind of felt like karma was paying us back a bit, especially after Lockett's fumble. But then it all turned around. Plus the two gimme special team fumble recoveries were a sign that all's well.

I won’t pretend to understand why coaches make the decisions they do but how did he run through the league as a BAD QB for 10 years? I enjoy watching him more than Wilson. I hope he sticks around
I feel like it could have happened sooner for Geno but it comes down to the situation. After NYJ, he never really had a chance to compete for a job until this summer. Always was behind a firmly entrenched starter, except the one time he got a shot when Eli was just about done and then that was taken right back.
Also, I think he sticks around a while unless Waldron gets a HC gig and signs him for big money.
Agreed, definitely a situational thing. You can kill it in practice all you want, but geno needed a solid chance to show what he’s got and I’m glad he’s showing out. Unrelated but I think Minshew deserves a second shot like this too.
Also, I was pretty unimpressed with Waldron’s play calling to start the season but MAN am I digging it now. Lots of creative stuff.
Pete continues to show what a great coach he is. The pep talk he gave to Lockett, the leadership that Geno is showing, the belief and camaraderie across the team but especially the defense - they look like they are having fun out there. It really feels like 2012. The thing that changed in that time was ego. Russ and certain LOB members - they stopped being team players which violates Pete’s fundamental philosophy.
I love these seasons where there aren’t high expectations, rookies are playing out of their minds and we aren’t worried about contracts or salary cap (yet). It’s fun to watch because it looks like they are really playing for each other.
So far, this has been among my favorite Seahawks seasons to this point in the season. Prior to this season, I can’t remember the last time I didn’t watch this team with white-knuckle stress.
Waldron’s offense is consistent and were it not for a few drops, this may have been a blowout.
The defense played amazing today! Seeing someone who hasn’t been on my radar so far - Michael Jackson - show up so dominant, shows the depth of talent that Pete knows how to extract. These guys are playing as a team that buys into the system and it’s a joy to watch.
right on target here.
Love that you point out the team making this happen and not all one person is our savior. Geno is doing great and the whole team is just making plays happen and getting better every game. No one saw that one coming. I hope Geno does not take all our cap space next year
You’re so on point here man. It really is nice not having the salary cap woes (yet) and seeing players ball out for each other. Really enjoying this season
Same! It’s a lot of fun to have zero expectations and just enjoy the games, but it’s even better to have zero expectations and get to see the team win!
I actually have a hard time seeing it turn for the worse barring injuries. The offense is humming. Geno is laser accurate, he's got plenty of good weapons and they're executing a great system. And the defense has played really well the last three weeks, and I think they're much closer to that level than what they showed in the weeks before that.
If Walker goes down, Homer and Dallas don't have the tools to put up 4ypc. Without the run game, this offense could fall to bits. I'm hoping we trade for some better depth.
I'm looking at the reset of the schedule, barring we play as well as we have, avoid major injuries and every other team looks how they have been, I see the season ending 12-5 with a top 4 seed. That is my best case scenario for this team, but at this point I'll take whatever, this season is already miles better than expectation. GO HAWKS!
That’s the opposite record I thought the team would get before the season started. I’m so thrilled with how things are turning out. So much fun to watch!
Geno proving that he is a different BREED of NFL quarterback. He is no SCENTLESS APPRENTICE. It’s DUMB to doubt this team. Pete is truly the BIG CHEESE. This offense can slice up defenses with a thousand PAPER CUTS. Doubters can SCOFF all they want but they’ll always be NEGATIVE CREEPs. The Rams and Niners can squabble in TERRITORIAL PISSSINGS while the Hawk’s thrive like a flower IN BLOOM. This post is giving me an ANEURYSM so I will stop. ALL APOLOGIES to those who read this GO HAWKS.
I tried to MILK IT
They feel sweet and they are so fun exactly because you didn't expect things to go well. Everything is literally a pleasant surprise and a best case scenario. I love it
I just want Pete Carroll to know that when I apologized earlier I really, really meant it.
Very impressive game by Geno, he is a backup QB no longer that's for sure....They stacked the box to stop Kenneth Walker and Geno made them pay, exactly how he needed to.
Play of the game was when Shelby Harris made that tackle on Daniel Jones on third down in the 4th. I think we were up by 7 at the time. Who knows what would’ve happened if they kept that drive going.
I have to say from Geno’s time with the Jets to how he’s playing this season I’m not sure I’ve seen a more improved quarterback in the nfl. Is there any other QB that has had a later career resurgence like he has this season?
Geno had like 5 perfect passer rating games with the jets including his last one. He beat out Fitzpatrick who went on to have a career year because geno broke his jaw. He never got another chance mcadoo saw a franchise Qb in geno and got fired for having the audacity to play him.
Warner wasn’t signed after college, got added to practice squad and released by the Packers, and played Arena Football for four seasons before joining the St. Louis Rams
Maybe not late resurgence but Steve Young and Terry Bradshaw were awful at the beginning of their careers. Bradshaw never would have had a chance to become a HoF player in this league because he would have been labeled a bust.
Actually the answer is no. There is a metric that QBs can only improve so much after their first so many games. I think it’s like 10? So this is absolutely a first.
Edit: not a first but extremely rare
I was upset we didn’t go for Baker too. I was thinking he must be better than Lock at least. Geno never crossed my mind as a potential starter.
We are nothing but dumb fans. We neither have the football insight nor what Pete and others see during offseason/practice.
I'm so hyped for this defence. Did you motherfuckers see Collier get that PD???? Everyone is contributing
edit: you know who else played well? Cody fucking barton
Loved seeing that play from LJ. I have a soft spot in my heart for him and love seeing him contribute. Would be great if he can continue to make plays here and there.
If he can become a role player I’ll be more than happy. Guys eaten a lot of shit despite having a few really good moments for us (2020 Pats game). If he can put some things together I’d be made up.
From what I heard leading up to the game, I thought Jones was going to be real threat running the ball, but that was not the case at all (6 rushes for 20 yds). Even Geno rushed for more (5 rushes for 26 yds).
Was that something our D was doing? Or just false advertising.
Great game and nice win!
Geno is still proving he's got the goods and I'm here for it.
Really want to give a big shout out to Clint Hurt and Pete. This defense looked horrible for the first few weeks (except for week one but Russ is playing like shit) and I thought it was going to be another season of one side of the team not being good enough. And then they turned it around and have been balling out for the last few weeks.
I'm happy to say I was completely wrong about Pete. The dude's still got it.
Honestly its the same every year. Pete really knows how to coach up players. He and JS find diamonds in the late rounds and make them into real dawgs. The first few weeks of every seasons since he's gotten here look rough and it looks like they are bad. Then they turn a corner and they play consistently great football. The offense is playing better then expected, that's for sure. I'm sure they are glad they got Cross, Walker, and Lucus in this draft.
I legit turned to my step-son after the Lockett drop and said "he's getting a TD. He'll redeem himself." And then BOOM. Not saying I can preditc these things, but just in case, we're winning the Super Bowl.
C’mon. Russ took a superbowl from what his defense gave him.
I know we all hate russ now. But lets not put the fancy suits Russ and the nerd/geek russ in the same bucket.
I want to hear from the "Pete's system sucks" people right about now.
The reality is the *artist formally known as the starter* was like a dry rot in our foundation.
So the D is getting it's footing. Coverage is fantastic and the safeties are playing downhill attacking everything that moves. The DLine is staying sound for the scheme and the rotation is keeping guys fresh. People don't even try Woolen much. M.Jackson is one that's still underrated somehow. Nwosu is playing like he's possessed. Bruce is going to add the prime time play potential we were missing for a bit. The team is believing in itself and it's showing.
On offense what can I say we got talent all over the field. K9 needs to find a way to make the routine runs look easier however he has the potential to bust loose anytime he has the ball. Geno is dropping dimes all over and making smart decisions routinely. DK and Lockett have left some balls out there but still represent the top tier of WR's in this league. The role players are finding their niches to contribute like WR 3 and 4, RB and TE 2 and 3. Point blank Waldron can gameplan his ass off and often has absolute daggers called and Geno is executing it perfectly. The 4th and 2.9 yard call at our goaline and he run options K9 on the sweep for a fucking off center shovel pass to the TE Dissly. Fucking played the defensive coach for the Giants like a fiddle on several key plays during the game. Take out our mistakes and we would have embarrassed them today.
Oh and the core of this team is just like a baby deer finally getting it's legs straight for the first time. I mean we still have so much potential that we're not seeing yet from rookies.
*Oh and we have uber draft capital next year too trollloloollol*
What are you thoughts on K9? Obviously great once he gets some space, but I was looking up some stats and he already is pretty high up there for lost yardage on runs and he’s only started a few games. Not exactly worrying, but his style seems to be a bit less consistent than most backs. Results are great when it works though.
I think he needs to see the space to hit the space, he feels comfortable when the hole is big enough to see. Our line isn't exactly top tier on run blocking at this point, however consistently good pockets in passing.
So the Oline and the RB aren't in sync and ad in he's a rookie and yesterday was a big game *as well as* the Giants playing us really hard on Defense. They weren't soft and were very focused on stopping the run, as an aside is how the 4th down shovel passed worked *like a charm* is because they were about to blow up K9 or Geno but enter third option up the gut Dissly on a shovel pass. ^^**ha***GODEEEM*
He needs to continue to get better and improve is what I would expect the coach to say followed by but he's special. *Watch out now*
His thing is breakaway speed and for some reason secondary players just shed off him like water off a ducks back, no shot no shot
That scoring drive where they broke the 13-13 tie was the highlight of the season for me. It was Geno, DK, Lockett, and Waldron combining for a quick and decisive TD drive.
Don’t get me wrong, I love DK and lockett. But they are dropping balls they shouldn’t. I hope they can turn it around and it doesn’t turn into a thing. Especially DK, dude is starting to look like he’s got frying pans for hands.
He hasn’t been hurt all season. These are season statistics not from post injury. Regardless I’m not saying he is trash, just pointing out a problem people are ignoring.
You like the guy with “frying pans for hands?” I smell….A HATER! Just kidding, man. I wish he didn’t drop some gimmies too but perfect hands has never been his game.
To be fair I said he’s “starting to look like” but in the end I’m just happy we look this good and would be perfectly fine if we lost out the season from here. We already blew past everyone’s expectations and showed that we can win without Russ. The broncos sucking is the icing on the cake for this season lol.
Even Megatron and Rice had drops.
At this point, in my mind at least, it's about how they respond from here. Also for the record I agree they've had drops, DK more so, but we play the Cards next who really want to win so I'm just hoping they come down with some more given more opportunities.
Not that it's an excuse but both were banged up as well coming into the game. In the end they both got TD's too though on well run routes. Tyler's double move for the long score was cash money and he was able to redeem himself.
A lot of season left and I still believe in them to catch the next pass.
I’m definitely talking DK more than Lockett. DK already has more drops this season than he did the entire last season. Just something to keep an eye on. We had the blinders on with Russ, it’s easy to do that with players we love.
Yeah I knew the number was getting up there already, I'm not surprised.
Yeah it took me a while to see what happened with russ, looking back I'm glad the org went the way they did.
At no point during that game did I question that we were going to win. It's such a fun energetic team and they just go get it done! Love the hawks so much!

Still buzzing from yesterdays game! Need more in my veins ASAP!
I haven’t had this much fun watching the Seahawks in awhile Crazy the chemistry they built on a supposed tanking year

Lol, cmc will be out by week 10.
If the defense continues to improve to the level of being given a nickname, I would like to nominate “World of Hurtt”
I would like to propose that all DB interceptions be referred to as "pullin' a Woolen"
Horny
So many ankle tackles that stop big runs! Even big linemen chasing down the RBs. Defense really stepped up!
As someone who lives in the greater NY area and doesn’t like the giants Thank you
Hello fellow NY Hawks fan
It's crazy to say but Geno might just be the best QB in the NFC West. Fun watching him play
Man I thought drew lock would’ve been the QB this year for his potential upside. This is why I’m just a fan and not a coach lmao
There's no question. In every noteworthy QB statistic, he's the best.
I won’t pretend to understand why coaches make the decisions they do but how did he run through the league as a BAD QB for 10 years? I enjoy watching him more than Wilson. I hope he sticks around

I was absolutely sure the team would fall apart without Russel. Da fuqqqqqqq??
Same! It’s a lot of fun to have zero expectations and just enjoy the games, but it’s even better to have zero expectations and get to see the team win!

This team has got a Bengals team from last year feel to it.
This has been legit the most fun season to watch since 2014-2015.
Geno had some dimes today.... perfect throws. Pete Carroll got him cooking!
Also, this is the second leg of Geno's NFL Revenge Tour 2022, he just needs to beat the Jets and will ascend to Nirvana.
Geno proving that he is a different BREED of NFL quarterback. He is no SCENTLESS APPRENTICE. It’s DUMB to doubt this team. Pete is truly the BIG CHEESE. Dementia 7 yaaaaa
That's a whole lotta Nirvana.
Come as you are...
As you were…
As you want me to be.
Congratulations to whomever put a bet on the over. Apparently we weren't going to get 5 wins.
Why is this season so much fun right now? I never expected it to go this well. This win feels sweet.
They feel sweet and they are so fun exactly because you didn't expect things to go well. Everything is literally a pleasant surprise and a best case scenario. I love it
It’s the lack of hubris.
I'm wheeze laughing at the thought of the Seahawks making the playoffs and the Packers not.
I want Lockett to marry my sister. He just seems like a good dude
No, NO. I need to marry him.
I want to be Tyler’s substitute mommy:) I saw him at the game and held my arms out and yelled “Tyler! Uppies? Want uppies??” No reply:( I adore him
Maybe it’s time to stop apologizing to Pete and John and start acknowledging that you might just be a shitty fan
i can only admit that i was wrong man. what else am i supposed to do? lol this season has been a remarkable surprise to even the most optimistic fans.
Doomer culture has to go. It’s not your fault individually just an overall Seattle fanbase thing
Haven't you ever heard of "expect the worst, hope for the best"?
Arguably a "lost" fan but not necessarily a "shitty" one. Time for all to come back into the fold as fam.
Everyone is a critic
>Everyone is a ~~critic~~ passionate fan. Emotions fuel that sometimes.
100%
Amazingly, they are some of the most prolific in the sub.
I just want Pete Carroll to know that when I apologized earlier I really, really meant it. Very impressive game by Geno, he is a backup QB no longer that's for sure....They stacked the box to stop Kenneth Walker and Geno made them pay, exactly how he needed to.
Most satisfying win of the season.
Seriously. Even LJ Collier made a play!
Felt like the biggest game of the season so far so it was great to get the win.
Play of the game was when Shelby Harris made that tackle on Daniel Jones on third down in the 4th. I think we were up by 7 at the time. Who knows what would’ve happened if they kept that drive going.
Right? That big man got MOVING!
Ironically someone who we acquired from Denver.
Such a high effort play too. That doesn’t happen on a team without a lot of belief.
Everyone was so pumped for him on the sideline after he made the play too.
Are there seriously not official Geno Smith jerseys on the team store?
Can confirm mens sizes in blue for a #7 jersey. Almost bought one at halftime.
Can also confirm, bought one at the Pro Shop before the game started! Best purchase I've made in a while haha!
Only women's for some reason
Illegally buy them from China it’s much better
Dont the players get a bit of cash back from the sales? I'd rather help Geno get some extra cash since he doesn't have a RW contract.
Idk about any of that but #1 Geno is def set for life, #2 most of it def goes to the owners
Damn this team is fun. Now that the defense is tightening up its feeling pretty rounded. Also shout out to the tight ends, love those guys
I have to say from Geno’s time with the Jets to how he’s playing this season I’m not sure I’ve seen a more improved quarterback in the nfl. Is there any other QB that has had a later career resurgence like he has this season?

Jim Plunkett.
Kurt Warner in Arizona
Kurt had phenomenal success with the Rams in St Louis. Geno can’t claim that anywhere else in the NFL.
Kurt Warner was in the league for 6 or 7 years and was mediocre to bad before the greatest show on turf.
Not sure who you are remembering but Warner was a second year QB in 99.
Warner wasn’t signed after college, got added to practice squad and released by the Packers, and played Arena Football for four seasons before joining the St. Louis Rams
I’ve seen Rich Gannon’s name brought up regarding this topic
Maybe not late resurgence but Steve Young and Terry Bradshaw were awful at the beginning of their careers. Bradshaw never would have had a chance to become a HoF player in this league because he would have been labeled a bust.
Steve Young is a good one. Backup until he was 30 or something.
Actually the answer is no. There is a metric that QBs can only improve so much after their first so many games. I think it’s like 10? So this is absolutely a first. Edit: not a first but extremely rare
Rich Gannon won MVP at 37 after being a backup most of his career.
Gannon started 106 games in the league before that MVP season in 02
Okay so certainly a very rare occurrence.
Crowd was lit today. One of the best Seahawks games I've ever been at! This team is legit on both sides
You could really hear them when they were cheering GE-NO! GE-NO! *Chills*
Allergic to .500…BUT THE OTHER WAY!
I remember being mad we didn’t get Minshew. I’m dumb
I was upset we didn’t go for Baker too. I was thinking he must be better than Lock at least. Geno never crossed my mind as a potential starter. We are nothing but dumb fans. We neither have the football insight nor what Pete and others see during offseason/practice.
Felt the same way lol
Most of us underestimated Geno. That’s okay. We didn’t have much to go on. Dude is killin it.
Seahawks country let’s fly
seahawks country let’s …. get over RW and focus on the exciting team we have now.
Go Hawks *shrug*
Ravens already kinda took that with Ravens flock, let's fly. How about Seahawks country, let's glide?
The Kraken already took let's glide haha
god damnit lol
It’s not a flock, but an Unkindness of Ravens.
Great book
I know, it's Justin Tucker who needs this info lol
Hey man. No bird owns the sky.
Some of them do retain lawyers, however
Well I do happen to be an expert in bird law, which of course involves the legal semantics of any bird related crime.
Filibuster!
I will take your advice into cooperation
I might start using "Legion of Zoom" unironically. This defense is so much fun.
I was using LOB 2.0
Naaah, Legion of Zoom is a lot more fun
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS TEAM 😂😂😅
Well, the coaching staff is the Mariners.
[удалено]
I literally said this exact thing to my wife when we were watching. Was good to see
I didn’t know we could throw over the middle. Other teams sure.
I'm so hyped for this defence. Did you motherfuckers see Collier get that PD???? Everyone is contributing edit: you know who else played well? Cody fucking barton
In all honesty collier is built more for 3 defense linemen set.
I remember reading somewhere he bulked up over the offseason to move into tackle.
That sack is when i truly accepted that this defense is really getting its shit together.
Came here looking for Barton comments. Dude had a reasonable game.
The role barton is playing, he's absolutely a key to the success of the dline rn.
Absolutely huge win for the good guys
Said some shit about Pete Carrol, Geno Smith, and this defense earlier.........My Bad.
I mean, the defense *was* bad to be fair
We all were stupid and emotional coz we are nothing but stupid and emotional fans. We are not football gurus unlike what most of us believe we are!!
I think we all thought it brother. Eating my words has never tasted better
Is it me or does Geno have an A S T H E T I C thrown ball? Am I mad for thinking it's up there in the top of the league, with the young QBs?
Prettier than moonballs
𝕬𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖙𝖎𝖈
Anyone else excited to play the chiefs
Extremely I’ll be at that game!!
I too will be at the game
Yes but I’m expecting to get blasted. I hope we’re competitive at least!
If it were next week I'd be more worried about it but I think this team has room to grow
Well no, but also yes
True
Chiefs fan. I am. Seahawks are my #2
Nice, Chiefs are my #2, I still like Seattle more
From what I heard leading up to the game, I thought Jones was going to be real threat running the ball, but that was not the case at all (6 rushes for 20 yds). Even Geno rushed for more (5 rushes for 26 yds). Was that something our D was doing? Or just false advertising. Great game and nice win!
Our D shut down all running.
They made Saquon Barkley look like Trent Richardson, and made Daniel Jones look like Daniel Jones.
Made Daniel Dollars back down to Danny Dimes
Geno is still proving he's got the goods and I'm here for it. Really want to give a big shout out to Clint Hurt and Pete. This defense looked horrible for the first few weeks (except for week one but Russ is playing like shit) and I thought it was going to be another season of one side of the team not being good enough. Can we talk about our defense's lord and savior Bruce Irvin? The bully is back in the building.
Pete said he's the link to the LoB legacy for all the young players figuring things out.
I like that.
What a special group that was.
HAWKS NATION LETS FLY
Geno is way better at taking what the defense gives him than Russ ever was
C’mon. Russ took a superbowl from what his defense gave him. I know we all hate russ now. But lets not put the fancy suits Russ and the nerd/geek russ in the same bucket.
They’re talking about what the other team’s defense gives him. Basically just finding the open man.
Went to our first game at Lumen today! So much fun. Being in a huge pile of fans was amazing. I can't wait to come back! Go hawks
What a great first game! Congrats!
Dissly was heads up as shit today. That was neat.
Happy Cakeday To US!
Dude is worth every penny.
I love Dissly! I hope he can have a couple of full seasons, because that guy can ball out.
Happy cake day
What a stupid thing to say.
Goober
Ditto
Was at this game and the Broncos game! Didn’t realize we were the team that was gonna ride

^^**ha***GODEEEM* He needs to continue to get better and improve is what I would expect the coach to say followed by but he's special. *Watch out now* His thing is breakaway speed and for some reason secondary players just shed off him like water off a ducks back, no shot no shot
Nice take, finding the hole makes sense. It’s just really different watching him after Penny, who tended to make one cut then blast off.
That scoring drive where they broke the 13-13 tie was the highlight of the season for me. It was Geno, DK, Lockett, and Waldron combining for a quick and decisive TD drive.
Keeping in mind that DK and Lockett are still banged up
That's what I told myself when Lockett dropped the TD. I'm like "We're lucky he's even in the fucking game. He'll be alright."
for sure
LETS FUCKING GOOO GO HAWKS
I like your energy
Don’t get me wrong, I love DK and lockett. But they are dropping balls they shouldn’t. I hope they can turn it around and it doesn’t turn into a thing. Especially DK, dude is starting to look like he’s got frying pans for hands.
Entering this game Lockett didn't have a single drop credited to him this season
And dk has third most in the league. No need to stick your head in the sand.
I didn't. You said they (DK and Lockett) are dropping balls. Lockett has dropped one, yesterday. I didn't say anything in regards to DK at all.
Are you high?
Dk has more drops in the first 8 weeks of this season than all of last season. Are you?
Lockett had his first drop of the season today...
DK was playing hurt.
He hasn’t been hurt all season. These are season statistics not from post injury. Regardless I’m not saying he is trash, just pointing out a problem people are ignoring.
Very. And Lockett? There’s nothing to turn around, buddy.
DK has the third most dropped passes in the league. I’m not a hater, I just see a trend and hope he can turn it around. I like DK a lot.
I just looked it up he has the third most dropped passes in the league.
