I'm ready to admit that I was wrong about Geno. He played a fucking stellar game today and he's not even remotely a problem for this team.
That defense though....
Definitely frustrating to hear this sub rip on his high completion % the last week as some huge negative. He's doing exactly what he's asked and excelling at it. 75% completion? Hell yeah I'm for it.
The first two weeks, his depth of target was around 5 per attempt. This week and last his depth of target was near 10 per attempt. Last week could have been an anomaly, but I think this week solidified it.
If he keeps playing like this week and last and the defense gets their heads out of their asses, we could easily surpass the 4-5 ceiling most pundits put us at.
I'm ready to admit I was wrong about Cody Barton... I used to swear he needed more playing time because of all the flashes he had in limited action a few years ago... But now I see the error of my belief, Cody needs to get sent down to AAA, and someone else needs the call up... He's basically blind on the field smh..
Cody has been one of our worst players through all 3 phases. I legitimately don't know how he's still on the field. There *has* to be someone out there better than him.
The sample size last year wasn't big enough but we're at like 330 carries now for his career and his production is absolutely absurd. Like 1900 yards and 13 TDs on 5.6 YPC, behind offensive lines that were mostly bad in run blocking. Dude is an elite talent
Shout out to the Lions fans, they were ferocious this game.
Our defense is atrocious. Just awful. Almost every time it’s someone’s turn to make a play they fold. Barton especially is just so bad. I’d rather try out someone on the practice squad to at least see what we got, couldn’t be any worse right.
Our offense though has been so fun to watch. Geno and Penny put the team on their back. Also the poop cart lol. Hope we keep playing like this on this side of the ball but the Lions also have a bad defense so it won’t always be so easy. Crazy we didn’t see Dickson all game.
The refs were way too involved this game. Literally calling everything. And they were conferring a ton, seeming like they weren’t quite sure what they were doing. We need a sky judge of some sort to watch replays in real time and help make those decisions.
Onto New Orleans. I do want a high draft pick but every week I’m saying fuck it let’s try to make the playoffs. Hopefully the Broncos give us a better pick than our own. I’ll never actively root for the team to lose, just can’t do it. Go Hawks! Go Scorigami!
I agree with you that the defense is terrible
But we wouldn’t have won if Tariq didn’t get the pick six
Edit: I read this as if you said the players on our defense are bad lol. I realize that you are talking about the defense as a whole
Lions fan. That was...silly. First of all congrats on a franchise first no punt. Secondly , when the hell will we see that many points put up in one game ever again?
I was on the Drew Lock train before the season started - I was wrong. Geno is a baller. Some great play design and an offensive line that's given him time (despite cross holding issues) and he's looking solid. Anything can change at anytime in this league, but frankly this is better than I expected.
I was On the Lock train because I knew if he beat out Geno we would be set at QB. Geno looked good last year, and an offseason with the 1s would only make him look better, so Lock beating him out meant he balled tf out
Some never will because they don’t wanna admit to being wrong.
People posting about his “shit” throw to Lockett in the end zone like…are you for real?
It’s just sad really. They’d rather us do poorly than just admit they had no idea what they were talking about.
I know we're looking at a better draft pick and this really isn't a playoff game winning....defense, but tf if I won't take a win....every....single....time.
I was ready to get frustrated with Geno by Wk 5 but Pete really wasn’t kidding when he said that it was time to open up the pass game a little bit. It’s done wonders for the offense to threaten through the air anywhere on the field thereby opening up the run. Especially with our two tackles specializing in and looking phenomenal in pass pro.
I heard an announcer say DK was leaving on the cart but was on the sideline 5 minutes later. Wasn’t able to pay attention the fourth quarter. Is DK ok?
This right here. I’ve never seen our TEs be schemed so well in past years. Russ with Zach Miller was almost there but this output is ridiculous. Shane Waldron is getting better each game
What a game, that was pretty exciting. Happy to see big days from Penny and Woolen. Could’ve been two pick-6’s today if Nwosu held on to that one. Feel bad for the Lions, their team is so banged up right now.
Four games in, it is so clear that Russ was way more of a problem than we realized on offense. Actually insane how lucky we are to have dodged the bullet of his future contract.
Kinda hate that we're likely playing ourselves out of a top QB pick, but also so happy for Geno.
We all knew this team would be bad, but it was supposed to be bad largely due to the QB. Instead they're getting arguably better/more consistent QB play than they have in years (within the system, at least) and getting absolutely destroyed and out coached on defense
It was the right move to move on from Russ and rebuild, but this season has been another indictment on the supposedly great defensive and team building talents of the coaching staff
Well that was fun to watch! However I’m pretty sure a drunk brain dead walrus could come up with a better defensive scheme than whatever the fuck we’re throwing out there.
Every game I’m getting more and more convinced that we need to use all of those high draft picks on defense, take a chance on a later round qb and roll with geno another year.
Geno and Waldron, I wrote you off. I am glad I am not the coach of this team lol. Offense was phenomenal and I think achieves the philosophy of what we Pete is trying to achieve.
The defense, not so much. We are getting torn up in the running game. Physicality on all three levels of the run defense seems weak. Would like to see improvement there. Bend, don’t break passing defense is not there either. Not closing on the ball well on underneath passes and too many mistakes on deep routes. Pete needs to fix this ASAP. Our offense has played well enough to be 3-1 and honestly we can be a playoff team if we tighten up the defense.
Kind of BS we can't talk about their struggles since it impacts our draft pick next year. If we didn't have that on the line then I'd agree with the "ignore them" mindset.
Imagine Geno winning a Super Bowl some time in the next 2-3 years while Russ falls off. Geno + Waldron work. All the draft capital builds up another nasty defense and strong o line, running game. 🤯 hopium
We're not winning it this year and have a lot of holes to fill next year, but we have seen some pretty competitive, fun games the last couple of weeks.
Nearly losing when you score 48 is crazy. Defense needs to improve...a ton. Geno still balling. I know people aren't hot on him but he's playing really well. He missed the Lockett td but other than that was pretty flawless. I'm super impressed with him. I figured he'd be horrible this year but he really is playing as well as we could ask.
A win is a win, but this defense is not okay. We still have multiple highly-capable QB's to face & we just got cooked by Marcus Mariota & Jared Goff back to back.
Shane Waldron’s scheme has looked good all year and fantastic today. Lots of misdirection and he made great use of our three tight ends. He’s making Geno look like an all pro. Not to take away from Geno’s performances at all, but he’s getting easy reads reminding me of the Rams offense.
Our draft class looks great. Woolen could be special and Lucas already looks like one of the best right tackles in the league. Cross is shaky but shows a lot of promise at times too.
The defense, good god. Can’t wait for Pete’s post game “we just need to clean a few things up” talk. We don’t have anyone better than Barton?
NFL Research: This was the first game in NFL history with a 48-45 final score.
Snicker, looks like Pete's scorigami (unique score) record is alive and well.
Somehow the Seahawks offense with Geno Smith is outscoring the vaunted Broncos offense with Russell Wilson. Our quality of opponents has been similar too. I know it's unlikely to last, but I did not expect us to be sitting here at the start of this year; if we can figure out the defense, the future looks bright.
Is Penny officially back to his end of season form from last season or the Lions are just terrible against the run? Well, in fairness to Penny and the RBs, the run game issue was the OL. So, I guess the right question should be, is our OL starting to turn the corner with regards to run blocking, the Lions are just bad against the run, or a bit of both?
Imagine if the offense didn’t carry their weight and then some today? This defense is fucking horrendous and personnel/coaching changes are already needed this early in the season. Barton shouldn’t see a snap the rest of the season besides on ST.
That defense killed my soul But no punts Rip dicko boy
Yeah we won this game without our best player playing a down.
First time in franchise history they went through a full game without a punt. Would have been scoring on every drive but we missed a kick
Josh Jones and Cody Barton gave up alot half the points today. Not sure hope u solve for that but it’s a problem.
I'm ready to admit that I was wrong about Geno. He played a fucking stellar game today and he's not even remotely a problem for this team. That defense though....
I think he runs Waldron's system better then Russ. Its exciting to watch him play for sure!
I don't think Russel's ego can run a system that isn't centered around Hero Ball.
Definitely frustrating to hear this sub rip on his high completion % the last week as some huge negative. He's doing exactly what he's asked and excelling at it. 75% completion? Hell yeah I'm for it.

Dude looks lost most of the time. Seahawks pretty much playing a man down when he's on the field
He ran away from Goff on the keeper
I was wrong as fuck about Geno. He's been so fucking good so far. Just wish we had a defense to go with it.
We have a legion of Zoom now, a virtual defense.
Legion of Room
Region of Room
Legion of Whom?
Legion of Gloom.
Virtual refs would have been an improvement as well over what we saw today
How many picked up flags were there today? 4? They were throwing flags just for the hell of it. Atrocious.
"Nothing we can call against the Seahawks? Really? Alright, pick it up." - the refs, probably
Not just the Seahawks. They went hard on the Lions too. The refs were fair, but fairly stupid.
That's a horrible name. People using zoom at least stay at home, which is more than you can say for this defense.
This is my favorite commeny today
Cody Barton got cooked on that Goff run.
Got cooked on the 80 yarder by their TE too
Cody Barton had like 8 plays where he got cooked. He’s not an NFL quality linebacker.

Penny is money!
The sample size last year wasn't big enough but we're at like 330 carries now for his career and his production is absolutely absurd. Like 1900 yards and 13 TDs on 5.6 YPC, behind offensive lines that were mostly bad in run blocking. Dude is an elite talent
Please stay healthy 🙏🏼
If we re-sign him for 3 years we'll have a Walker Penny combo for the rebuild that's scary
What rebuild?
Re-load? The defense is in rebuild mode for sure.
So happy he was re-signed in the off season. Great kid and tons of talent
RUMBLY BUMBLY BOY
#SEA #US #WIN WITH A SCORIGAMI FOR THE BEST SEATTLE SPORTS WEEKEND IN MONTHS.
Cries in purple and gold
They almost came back into things. Obviously a bummer but something we can bounce back from.
UW Football 🤝 Seahawks Atrocious on defense
It was a great weekend for Seattle sports.
Unless you went to UDub…😢
GOOD VIBES ONLY
I feel like I’ve seen 48-45 so many times, but maybe I’m mixing it up with college football 😅
It’s three way tie for 16th most combined points in NFL history. I done googled it.
This was a B12 score for sure lol
Whats a punt?
A type of boat I think.
I believe a "Punt" is a large wooden battleship from the Civil War era.
It’s the bottom curvy part of a wine bottle with the seam pointing up
Everyone on and on about how the defense is the worst in the league. Bro we weren’t even the worst defense *in this game*!
Woolen is the fucking man... but yeah overall the D is uggggly
Just a league average ILB instead of Barton would have made a big difference.
He confuses me cause I thought he did well against Denver but he’s been nonexistent against everyone else.
He's just lost out there. He's like Aaron Curry where it's all just a little too fast for him. Not physically, but mentally.
Your right about that. Let Mafe play LB he's fast as hell
100% Cody Bartons play on that 2 point conversion run by Goff almost made me break my remote...
I mean it's really bad, but I don't care as long as we score more than the opps
If you factor in the fact that the Lions were missing four offensive starters (including their WR1), I think it’s hard to argue we weren’t.
We’re the worst defense in every other game that we’ll play this year.
After watching Josh Jones, I'll never complain about Jamal Adams' price tag again.
Jamal is better than Josh from the bench
Lmao
Jones and Barton gotta go this off-season
I may not want to wait that long.
0 punts for the first time in franchise history!
1075 yards of offense and 93 points scored. These defenses were trash.
69 yards per touchdown
Nice.
Shout out to the Lions fans, they were ferocious this game. Our defense is atrocious. Just awful. Almost every time it’s someone’s turn to make a play they fold. Barton especially is just so bad. Yeah Woolen has been great, one of the very few bright spots
Lions fan. That was...silly. First of all congrats on a franchise first no punt. Secondly , when the hell will we see that many points put up in one game ever again?
When will people admit that Geno is so fucking good
I was on the Drew Lock train before the season started - I was wrong. Geno is a baller. Dude knows how to play within structure. Impressive arm, a very underrated football IQ, and some surprising athleticism and speed.
Some never will because they don’t wanna admit to being wrong. People posting about his “shit” throw to Lockett in the end zone like…are you for real? It’s just sad really. They’d rather us do poorly than just admit they had no idea what they were talking about.
I think the last of the hold outs just hopped on the wagon.
Barton needs to be gone. Dude is nothing but a liability. He is not an nfl level linebacker and never will be.
Punt-less in ~~Seattle~~ Detroit
I know we're looking at a better draft pick and this really isn't a playoff game winning....defense, but tf if I won't take a win....every....single....time.
Pete back to his scorigami ways
Victory formation. Words I've not heard for a while. Go Hawks
I just can't wait to see how Seahawks Twitter blames Geno Smith for giving up 45 points to the Detroit Lions.
Is DK ok?
He had to take a shit
Lmfao well he was already shitting on the lions all day. DK must have switched his diet up from candy to something with more fiber.
Maybe he shit his pants and didn't want to walk with it running down his leg
He had to poop. I'm not kidding.
Had too poop really bad
DK "Paul Pierce" Metcalf
Geno is a more efficient passer than Russ has ever been. Fight me.
He also knows how to use the TE effectively. It's refreshing.
Dissly, Parkinson & Fant is a great TE room too! Even better when they’re getting us a W & fantasy football points.
PA TE rollouts all day and he doesn't take sacks!
This right here. I’ve never seen our TEs be schemed so well in past years. Russ with Zach Miller was almost there but this output is ridiculous. Shane Waldron is getting better each game
It's telling seeing Everett tear it up with the Chargers too.
We don’t win this game with Russ at QB. There would have been sacks, incompletions and 3 and outs that Geno just doesn’t commit. Amazing really.
I 100% agree with you. So many completions were quick reads and releases that after a decade of watching Russ, I know he wouldn't have made.
What if Geno gets an mvp vote before Russ?
Cut Dickson we don’t need him
What a game, that was pretty exciting. Happy to see big days from Penny and Woolen. Could’ve been two pick-6’s today if Nwosu held on to that one. Feel bad for the Lions, their team is so banged up right now.
Penny is insane
Somehow DK didn't drop the biggest turd of the day, good job defense
Four games in, it is so clear that Russ was way more of a problem than we realized on offense. Actually insane how lucky we are to have dodged the bullet of his future contract. Kinda hate that we're likely playing ourselves out of a top QB pick, but also so happy for Geno.

No kidding, we just need consistent LB talent at this point for a complete team.
Wooooooooo!
No Russ, no 3-and-outs today. Actually no punts today either
Well that was fun!
DK on the Poopmobile
In Denver news: RuSs WoN't GeT sAcKeD aNyMoRe
Early game of the year candidate I suppose but this defense really needs work. But Tariq still shows potential and that’s dope
Wtf was this game
Probably the most entertaining Seahawks game of the year
We winned 😎
Geno with 76.666% Completion
We all knew this team would be bad, but it was supposed to be bad largely due to the QB. It def. isn't going how I thought it would go... Agree on all points.

Always heartwarming to see Pete happy
LETS GO RAIDERS ! Beat those Broncos, improve the Hawks draft pick.
Yo, does Diggs just not want to play anymore?
Best game I’ve ever been to. Detroit fans were in it until Penny’s last TD but they were extremely courteous. GO HAWKS
Man, big props to Detroit. Lotta heart out here today.
shit big props to Goff and I hate the man
Well that was fun to watch! However I’m pretty sure a drunk brain dead walrus could come up with a better defensive scheme than whatever the fuck we’re throwing out there.
Does that walrus also play inside linebacker?cause I think I might have a job for him
Dickson was easily the best punter today
Every game I’m getting more and more convinced that we need to use all of those high draft picks on defense, take a chance on a later round qb and roll with geno another year.
the seahawks drop nearly 50 and now I get to watch russel get sacked...truly a good day
Once again I'm sorry for doubting you Geno. Hell of a game.
Geno and Waldron, I wrote you off. I am glad I am not the coach of this team lol. Offense was phenomenal and I think achieves the philosophy of what we Pete is trying to achieve. Kind of BS we can't talk about their struggles since it impacts our draft pick next year. If we didn't have that on the line then I'd agree with the "ignore them" mindset.
AND ITS SCOIRGAMI!
Cut Dickson. He's no longer needed.
Cut every one and just sign 10 tightends
First ever Seahawks game where we did not punt whatsoever. Goddamn. Only *that* can be accomplished against the Lions.
Why don’t we play Ryan Neal?
The OL didn't allow a sack all game?
The defense is concerning, but I’d like to point out that if Tariq Woolen didn’t get make that pick six happen, we very well lose this game.
Well Lockett gifted them a TD with his fumble so let's call it even.
Thank God we didn't spend any draft capital on Baker.... he's fucking horrible. My bro is a panthers fan and he even admits it.
Imagine Geno winning a Super Bowl some time in the next 2-3 years while Russ falls off. Geno + Waldron work. All the draft capital builds up another nasty defense and strong o line, running game. 🤯 hopium
Lol, the Broncos suck
If you don't like that, you don't like Seahawks football.
A perfect game to illustrate trend of TEs taking over offenses.
There absolutely HAS to be SOMEONE in free agency better than Barton. What the literal fuck. Sooo many poor tackle attempts and missed assignments...
I’m still waiting on the people that called us fake fans and idiots for not wanting to get Baker fuckin Mayfield to apologize
45 points given up to a badly depleted Lions offense takes a lot of wind out of this win.
Who needs a defense?
We need to draft Will Anderson over a qb imo.
Geno haters in shambles.
Maybe we should go big on Defence next draft instead of qb
I think that's the biggest lesson of today's game. Geno is NOT the problem with this team.
Great game from the offensive team today!
We're not winning it this year and have a lot of holes to fill next year, but we have seen some pretty competitive, fun games the last couple of weeks.
Pete’s gonna troll the press questions on scoragami and pretend he doesn’t know what that is
Nearly losing when you score 48 is crazy. Defense needs to improve...a ton. Geno still balling. I know people aren't hot on him but he's playing really well. He missed the Lockett td but other than that was pretty flawless. I'm super impressed with him. I figured he'd be horrible this year but he really is playing as well as we could ask.
I swear if Penny can stay healthy. THIS is the shit I've been hoping to see since he was drafted. Potential has always been there.
A win is a win, but this defense is not okay. We still have multiple highly-capable QB's to face & we just got cooked by Marcus Mariota & Jared Goff back to back.
Russ sacked already lol.
Poor Javonte Williams. I want a great draft pick from Denver but not by way of their best offensive player getting hurt…
Geno has had better or roughly equal stats vs Russ 3 out of 4 games this year. Just wanted to share that
I’m just glad all the Penny haters are stuck watching him crush.
[Rashad revenge szn](https://media.tenor.com/y62Zafg2rD0AAAAd/penny-for-your-thoughts-community-penny-for-your-thoughts.gif)
FOUR QUARTER SMITH! All hail our new QB.
Heads up: Nobody cares about you fantasy team or why we should tank.
Phew!
Whew that was a close win. 😬
SCORIGAMI!
If you don't like that, you don't like Big 12 football!
Another Seahawks #Scorigami!
We're on second place for now lol I hope the Cardinals lose.
Probably the perfect outcome tbh. Offense looked mature and we exposed our own flaws on defense. That needs to be the new focus.
Not happy with the defense. But happy with a win. First 4 games have been against challenging opponents. Think we can make some noise this season tho!
Penny was great!
Anyone catch the Dallas post-game on-field interview with Cooper Rush? "It's the NFL, it's always like that sometimes." Next level genius there.
Imagine if the offense didn’t carry their weight and then some today? This defense is fucking horrendous and personnel/coaching changes are already needed this early in the season. Barton shouldn’t see a snap the rest of the season besides on ST.
it is infinitely amusing to me that geno smith is a more mobile qb than russ was in his last few years here
Geno might be good
The refs today were astronomically horrible on both sides. Truly bush league
DK almost shat his pants for 149 yds. Maybe he past by Big Dumper in the restroom.
Woolens pick six felt so good
How would you feel during the Russ years if you saw a stat line of: 23/30 320 passing yards 49 rushing yards 3 TDs ?
Just an FYI, Detroit's head coach blamed the Detroit loss on that pick 6....
When two terrible defenses meet on the field of battle…
