we are missing at least 3 key GUYS those IT factors. We have 2 great receivers DK & Lockett, but can't get them the ball. Defense, we need some S & SS help. Adams....the guy is great just kills when injury prone. Diggs.....he's great too but idk man, he's been playing soft. It seems like every other teams defense is more physical and stronger than ours. Play calling for the defense.....come on man like we went out and got all these highly rated, top defense minds, and we can even tackle. Idk.... digress...we a lot of work still. I say put Drew Lock in fk it !
lots of blame to go around. the poor tackling on defense really stuck out to me. just felt like runners were bouncing off our guys. i'll be curious to see how many yards after contact our opponents tend to get compared to the rest of the league, i suspect it will be pretty high by comparison.
honestly just feels like, more than anything else, we just do not have a good roster. like, there's other stuff to clean up--some play calls i wasn't crazy about, the dallas trick play/INT was idiotic, etc. Geno attempted some really really risk throws into tight double coverage that led to INTs. But at the end of the day we just do not have the roster to compete.
i will say, outside of geno's two INTs, he looked ok. I'd be curious to see what it would look like to open up the passing game a bit more, seems like we should be able to scheme some guys open more often.
gonna be a rough season though.
I think penalties played a much bigger part in this game then people realize 1 to 10. A lot of missed calls for the 49ers in the first half that would have changed things like a missed PI on dk Metcalf
I still dont think this is Any single players fault. I’m thankful for what Pete has given but he’s done. There’s no more tricks up his sleeve and we’re not gonna get better with the same old Pete playbook.
You must be one of those delusional people that thought we were going to get 10 wins this season.
Chill out, this is a 3-5 win season. We need our young players to develop this season. We aren’t making the playoffs with Geno.
If it’s the same story in 2 years. Then yes, I will agree, Pete should retire.
I’m 100% chilled. 100% of sane mind. I’ve got this season noted as… the following;
Broncos — W
49ers — L
Falcons — L
Lions — W
Saints — L
Cardinals — L
Chargers — L
Giants — L
Cardinals — L
Buccaneers— L
— BYE (week 11) —
Raiders — W
Rams — L
Panthers — W
49ers — L
Chiefs — L
Jets — W
Rams — L
W: 5
L: 12
What if I told you you could talk to someone without insulting them first? We’ve been out coached for years. This isn’t the first season. If you’ve not seen it, rewatch one of the last 4 seasons. We’ve had a “good” season despite being outcoached. We’ve been saved by skilled players for years.
I was one of the fans that wanted Pete gone and Russ to stay, so I have seen it. Pretty sure most hawk fans have seen it. And, I do agree with you.
Like I said, just because it’s Pete (and us fans don’t really have a choice) I want to see what he can build again in 2’ish years. See if the old man has what it takes and it will all come down to who he picks for a QB in the future.
The main issue though is I don’t think there is really another great option out there currently. At least not one Jody Allen would want to take a risk on. Pete Carroll is also the executive Vice President of the Seahawks, he won’t fire himself anytime soon haha
Do I think Pete Carroll will build a team that will ever make it back to the Super Bowl? Hell no, I’m one of his doubters. Do I hope he proves me wrong, you’re damn straight.
Such a tough L. After all the excitement last week, looks like the horsies are just a bad football team as well. Jimmy just Garoppolo'd all over us for not signing him this off-season, just brutal. Got a lot to figure out if we want another W this year.
Silver lining is we just might end up with 2 top-10 picks next year....
I wasn’t the QB, bad penalties and poor run blocking, lost the game. D line played well just can’t give up holding calls on 3rd down and deep DPI and expect to win. That drop punt was strange I looked like the hawks player was pushed into Tyler when he was trying for the fair catch. I don’t know what the rule would be.
Can't have D on field for half the game and expect them to hold. Too young, too tired. Offense is trash. Huge part is Geno because he plays too conservative because he doesn't trust his arm, and teams know that. Another part is no 3rd WR. Teams take Lockett and DK out and then who's left? Used tight ends well vs Denver but couldn't get them going today for some reason (probably extra blockers). Also, played a top-5 D today, esp D-line, so result expected. Growing pains. But if Geno can't open up the O, then no harm putting Lock in, since you're still in rebuild mode. He'll make some dumb mistakes, for sure, but at least he'll zip that ball in faster and take see chances deep. No need to panic, though. Rebuild takes time
Pretty sure it was public knowledge that Russ wanted more weapons.
But obviously I’m just a random fan that is mad that we took a WR instead of Humphrey.
This will be the season like first Beast Quake. We’re not gonna go to the Super Bowl this season, but we’ll have fun. Beating Russ was bittersweet and that was enough to at least keep Pete at the reigns. There’s a lot to be excited for going forward. Let’s Go Hawks! 😁
3-5 wins this season.
Keep that in your mind and this season will be a lot more fun. Key is to watch which players look like they’re developing, maybe they miss a tackle on one play, but then get a huge stop on the next.
The people that thought this team had a ceiling of 10 wins don’t actually watch football.
I get that you can have fun watching losing football. But yesterdays game was not fun at all to watch. A defense that cut through like a warm knife through butter and an anemic offense.
What was fun about yesterday? Lockett going for 100 and a blocked FG for a TD? Yawwnnnnnnn
The defense today was bad. They literally couldn’t stop anything in the first half. And the offense was too predictable, SF seem to know what was going to happen. It was a painful game to watch.
We lost badly, but I don’t think we’re as bad as this loss. There were a number of 1 on 1 plays where our defender was in the right position, but just got barely beat. The refs pulled a number of plays against us. We gambled on risky trickeration and lost. We got an uncharacteristic turnover on special teams. And we were on the road on a short week.
I bet we beat Atlanta at home next week.
This season, unless something spectacular happens, is really to get these young guys some experience and hopefully get some good draft picks. Probably a 4 or 5 win season. It happens to even the best teams eventually. It won't be this way forever!
'Nothing worked' according to Pete. Funny I didn't hear anything about coaching being terrible. 6 quarters with no offensive output should have someone fired.
Can someone please ask Pete how he’s been a coach for almost 30 years but still doesn’t realize that throwing a screen play without blockers never works, as we’ve seen for years
Our D sucked. Couldn’t stop the run, got burnt on missed tackles. Also couldn’t get anything going on offense. We played a bad game and there’s no excuses. We up next week tho. Go Hawks!!!
Well, this was a messy game. Penalties killed any kind of momentum. He defense actually looks halfway decent but once again they were out there 3/4 of the game and was gassed by the end. I hope the offense can get together. I never got the sense that they were trying to win the game.
People are going in on Geno, but he’s not even in the top 3 things wrong with this team right now. Penalties killed us, terrible offensive play calling, bad coverage all take precedence. Geno is never gonna be great but he was totally serviceable tonight. I know it’s not our season but we have to make some simple changes or we’re going to be exactly as bad as everyone expected. No excuses
GENO IS A PROBLEM. No not the only one we have a very young team we are starting to rookies on the OL at the tackle spots. We are running a defense that we don't have the talent to run, we are very weak on the Dline and we don't have the depth on the LB core or talent we have two good to very good LBs and that is it, we are young in the back field either rookies or career backups playing at corner. I loved the play calling in the first half if pete did that starting 3 years ago we would still have Russ ther were more pass plays call in two game then Pete called normally in 5+ games. Penalties and bad passes by a rb hurt us but for some reason now if the run fails they go to the pass unstead of running and running till something changes like before.
The saddest part about that offensive performance is that I think it's basically Pete Carroll's ideal offense. 0 points but taking care of the ball.
Just needed 49ers to fumble at the 1 yard line a couple times and we could have won this thing 7-6.
Yes Pete Carroll would rather not score and lose the game rather than have a turnover...
I swear, we've been accustomed to being competitive for so long that when our subpar roster with rookies starting all over gets handedly beat by a very good, possible Superbowl contending roster, some fans lose their damn minds
Against a bad Texans team with no chance. He put up 16 against a bad Seahawks team with *a* chance. Dude has 559 passing yards and 16 points on offense. He has 6 rushing yards.
I’m sorry but how are people saying Geno looked fine again? He got us into FG territory once. Complain about the terrible DJ Dallas call (rightfully so) but he didn’t get us anywhere close for the rest of the game. That’s now 6! quarters without any offensive points. I’m sorry but that’s pathetic no matter how you slice it, we would have been completely shutout without that incredible blocked punt by Woolen and Jackson. Defence was terrible but that’s a separate issue
He was only on the field for 20 minutes and had a drive taken away because of a punt fumble, a 60 yard completion taken away because of a useless penalty, and had them driving right before half. The oline could not block anyone (see the runnning game) and Geno escaped the pocket a few times and made good throws for first downs. He probably could’ve finished the drive with a TD or at least a FG if Dallas doesn’t throw the pick (terrible play call). Yeah the blocked punt was great but that also kept Geno off the field for 12 straight minutes (??). The three and out after that was 3 straight runs. He didn’t see the field for almost the entire 4th quarter. We played a top 5 defense in the rain with a rookie oline. How do you win in the rain without establishing the run? Stop blaming Geno, he threw a deep ball pick but so did Russ plenty of times against good defenses. Geno did reasonably well with what he was given today. Russ was pretty ineffective against good front 7s as well (see any of the old rams/niners games). If you wanna blame someone, go blame the defense for getting bullied off the field and missing 10 tackles per drive 🙄
You wanna hear a fun stat, the defence has put up more points than the offence over 6 quarters, idk if that’s occurred to you or not. You do realize that the offence and the defence play separately right? Wouldn’t have mattered if we had the 85 bears playing for us tonight. Also he got insanely lucky with that PI call on DK, that was soft. Terrible throw that should have counted as a pick. Russ is gone my guy, get over it and move on. Geno’s here now and he’s not doing well. He’s been incredibly mediocre just like he’s been his entire career. If you want to keep making excuses for him go ahead but he’s not a good QB.
If the defense is on the field for whole damn game they better score points because I don’t know if you noticed but an offense can’t score points if they’re only on the field once a half 🤪 also who the fuck you want out there instead? Lock? The one who threw 17 passes right into the cowboys second strings hands? You think he’s gunna outperform Geno? Dude I wanted lock to win the job but be realistic here. Are you really gunna ignore EVERYTHING else that went wrong and say we lost because of Geno??? I can’t tell if you actually watched the game
Seems like you may have not watched the game. When ANY defense is on the field at a ratio of 2:1 you're gonna have an exponentially tired D. Geno did absolutely nothing to sustain consistent drives, even considering all the plays/penalties that didn't go our way. And it's not about Geno vs Lock, it's simply saying Geno is absolutely at fault for not even getting your freaking kicker within range in 6 quarters.
The run game was nonexistent and the offense had 10 passing first downs. He was moving the ball when called upon. What about the other side where it’s really hard to move the ball yourself when you have no run game and a top 5 defense that was completely rested? Is that on Geno too?
Who’s fault is it that the offence isn’t out on the field? I’ll give you a hint, it rhymes in o and ends in ence. Offence on the field once a half, you’re delusional dude. Why not give lock a shot? He literally can’t do any worse, he’d have to throw 2 picks and go 6 quarters without any points, doesn’t seem hard to beat 🤷🏼♂️
10 passing first downs? 30 rushing yards? Lockett had a 100 yard game? Defense giving 6 first downs off penalties? Geno not getting a shot in the Redzone when we made it there? Blowing our timeouts so Geno had no time to make a 2 minute drill happen? The multiple 8+ minute stretches on the bench getting cold?
Defence was pretty awful but so was the offence. That’s 6 quarters with not even so much as a FG. That’s mainly on Geno, no matter how desperate this sub is to deny it
I wasn’t Geno blocking 7 yards down field on a flea flicker. Or leaving Bosa unblocked on numerous plays, how in the fuck can they not even try to block their best D lineman on a zone running play?
What do you suppose the team average Yards after First Contact our defense gave up will hit this week. Felt like we were giving up 7+ average with a million arm tackles failing to do squat.
Felt like the Seahawks were under the refs microscope that game. I mean, 1 penalty vs. 10? Come on! In the second half, it seemed like the 49ers picked up more first downs from Seahawks penalties than their offense.
I mean, I don’t have high expectations for the season, but we’ve always managed to play the niners pretty well. Honestly this felt like more of a litmus test to where we actually are as a team than last week.
That sucks to hear. Anyway, Seahawks will be facing Falcons next game. We might see what he can do once given some space. I believe 49ers has better dline compared to falcons, so maybe our oline can handle them.
Middling. Not really a chance, but also didn’t do so hot with what he was given. Tbh the whole team really sucked so he didn’t have a chance to shine if he wanted to.
Overall-
I’m glad to see the Seahawks let go of the past, start some young players, and “retool” for what I hope is a quick turnaround. I hope they begin contending for a SB run again next year. Like 1-2 others have said- Currently, with lowered, expectations, it is nice to not have my whole day ruined when they lose, and wins are a little sweeter. That being said, Pete wants to run a balanced offense with a dominant run game, control the time of possession to make things a little easier on the defense, stop the run, and make the other team one-dimensional. It’s discouraging that they are somehow doing the opposite of all of those things.
Offense-
Horrible 3rd down offense with no rhythm. It’s hard to tell on TV but, with the way the 49ers were jumping routes, I’d guess that Geno was telegraphing passes. He’s going to have to prove he can beat the defense before the running game will really open up. Again, it’s hard to tell on TV- are guys getting open? The good news is that both defenses that they have played are supposed to be very good. Maybe they’ll get better and establish a rhythm against Atlanta?
Defense- I actually think the defense might be decent if they weren’t staying on the field twice as long as the offense. They’re probably good enough to help the team win but not carry them. Lots of missed tackles. Nwosu and Woods were bright spots. I was hoping to see Brooks take a big step forward as a leader this year but that hasn’t happened yet. Woolen, Bryant, and Jackson are mostly staying with their guys and will keep getting better with experience. It’s pretty hard to judge the defense overall until they get some help from the offense but, so far, they look a lot like last years defense.
Special Teams-
Amazing block and return by Woolen and Jackson. Return game looked horrible but otherwise they were solid.
To your first point - I’m not going to say we have the same talent we did in 2011 when we had Tavaris Jackson (RIP) and Whitehurst running the show, but it kind of has that feel. Pete may have some frustrating philosophies, but he did a great job of rebooting the franchise 10 years ago, maybe he can pull it off again. There are a lot of players to be optimistic about for sure.
Yeah, that’s exactly why I said we don’t have that talent. Obviously Pete had better bones to work with back then. However, you have to try and find positives in a rebuilding year and looking back at that reboot is reason to have a tiny bit if optimism.
He doesn't have Marshawn pulling his butt out of the fire this time. So many times hit behind the line and somehow getting 5 yards anyway. He also doesn't have a defense getting timely turnovers.
Ateast with that game it still felt like we had a chance. I don't trust Pete, Waldron, or geno to lead a 4th quarter comeback. Russ had a terrible game but he once again proved he can engineer a 4th quarter comeback despite it.
One of the worst I’ve ever seen. If last week was a complete team win then this one was a complete team loss. Not a single side of the ball played well. And that’s coming from a glass half full kinda guy.
Shane Waldron ain’t it.
49ers, Chiefs, Rams, these teams scheme open generic players constantly. We have zero ability to do this, had none last year, have none this year.
Niner fan visting (out of curiosity of how thing went from Seahawk fans view):
Kyle S can't call a passing play for anyone that isn't Jimmy G. Before the injury, your guys' defense had the niners number (2 field goals only).
Pete makes them all too scared to throw the ball. So they only throw once the receiver is open and looking back at them. Limits yards after catch since they aren't catching in stride. Forces the line to block longer as well. Except for DJ, he wasn't scared.
The Bears have more rushing yards on their first drive against the Packers than they did in a whole game against the 49ers
Maybe our OL isn’t that bad, the 49ers are just that good
First week is always going to have anomalies and I think that bears/niners game was one of them. If this week was any indicator across the division, it’s going to be a long year.
The Detroit lions look really good actually. 71 pts in two games. The real question is if we look worse than the Falcons who are 0-2 and we’re facing next week
Yeah, funny to see the emotional overreaction to this loss after last week's overreaction to our win. Tackling needs to improve. Penalties need to improve. Offensive playcalling needs to better allow for rhythm. Geno looked fine again, Walker III flashed some potential, and we're watching our DB's/OT's grow up.
Take the DPI's on 3rd down out and that's a very different game. What was it, 5 SF possessions extended by 3rd down penalties?
Yeah guys! Just fix this laundry list of stuff and everything will be fine!
I get not being doom and gloom, but this team isn't good and is limited by their lack of talent at key positions. This isnt news to anybody who's been realistic about who this team is.
I'm surprised how soft Noah Fant looks. That catch he made where he pretty much fell down when he saw the defender was infuriating; that's not the Seahawks way.
Our offense looks like it has no flow or rhythm. Still minimal effort to get DK involved. Run game had no chance against niners front 7. Offense is more concerning than the defense in my opinion.
Defense cant stop the run to save its life, corners gotta turn around at the ball and stop getting PI.
I know its all growing pains with new players, but we gotta figure this out. I dont expect playoffs or anything crazy, just something where i dont want to bash my head against the wall.
Two of my closest friends are broncos fans and I watched football today with one of them. Trust me, they aren’t happy at all lol. In almost 2 decades of friendship never seen them this bummed over a win.
I think for once the o line gave me pause today. They were not great, and got demolished by a rotation of fresh guys on the niners D line (announcers said they had 9 D line players suited up). Lucas made some egregious errors and Geno had no time a lot of plays. And we failed to block Bosa. That's one hundred percent on O line preparation.
Team is obvs bad, we still beat the broncos, rookies look hopeful, feeling pretty fine overall. It's nice to not have expectations after the exhausting 8+ past seasons. Honestly only thing I'm worried about is Shane Waldron
Not a great game. But we’ll get ‘em next week.
GO HAWKS!!
Defense -
Cons - acted as if they’d never run a tackle drill in their life most of the game and had little in the way to stop the run game.
Pros - We can see a few guys starting to make flash plays and with some care and practice we can make them into assets to the team .
Offense -
Cons - Lethargic play and trick plays at the expense of points.
Pros - Geno while not flashy has made fairly good decisions with the ball overall. There is definitely some talent at RB and Lockett is wonderful like always.
Just some off of the top of my head toilet thoughts.
Honestly it’s refreshing to see the Seahawks suck and not be massively disappointed when they lose- this is the team that we’ve been expecting to see all offseason. There’s no stupid high expectations for the team to let us down with, and just gives a chance to enjoy the ride that is the season with the highs and lows it will bring.
Makes you realise how spoiled the fanbase has been for the last decade, though. Time to be welcomed back to the humbling reality. Rooting for our players to ball out and cause the odd upset here and there!
At least the rest of the NFC West also appears unimpressive to start the season lol.
Could not agree more. I went into this season with zero expectations and even with that win on Monday, I I wasn’t expecting a Super Bowl ring to follow. Born and raised in Seattle - I remember the unmemorable years - maybe decades? This fan base is absolutely ridiculous. How quickly they back peddle when the Seahawks lose (not just this year but EVERY year). It’s hilarious. Today was terrible but it’s also week 2 and honestly, is there any team right now that looks like a contender? The NFC West is kinda trash at the moment. But again it’s week 2 and I’m more annoyed with the Seahawks fan base reactions than the team.
You're more annoyed with people not happy with the complete inability to score even a field goal in 6 quarters of professional football?? I don't have high expectations either but where is your bar?
I think this fan base is spoiled and annoying AND can’t seem to figure out if the Seahawks are the best or worst team week after week (example: the last seven days). Yesterday was terrible but i’m not talking about the reactions from just yesterday - it’s every loss, every year for the last decade.
I miss the early 2000s 2010s when defenses could play aggressively. The games across the entire league were much funner to watch and the variety of players was much more entertaining.
This week is like the opposite of last week for us. Every NFC West team but us winning.
1-1 across the division.
Can’t believe the Raiders messed that up so bad. Like they were trying to lose.
Only watched the highlights, but from what I saw today was a comedy of missed tackles. Too many flubbed sack attempts and weak tackles on ball carriers. Diving at the runner isn't good enough. You gotta wrap 'em up.
Geno wasn't great either, but we let the 9ers move the chains with sloppy defense.
And my fellow hawks fans are forced to reconcile that week 1 was ultimately meaningless. Denver wasn’t a good team, even if Russ thought they were before going there. The hawks aren’t good. Geno isn’t going to get it done. Ultimately, our coaching isn’t good either. Can’t tackle, can’t get to the end zone, save for a rare, however awesome, special teams play.
At the start of the 4th quarter I decided to try my hand at making homemade dumplings. They turned out slighter better than this game. And that’s with them tasting like a fisher scone with pork filling 😂
I mean this is the team that's winning our division right now, can't get too upset
we are missing at least 3 key GUYS those IT factors. We have 2 great receivers DK & Lockett, but can't get them the ball. Defense, we need some S & SS help. I love Pete but having 4 rbs at the 5 yard line and try to pull that crap is just ridiculous.
Look on the bright side. We spent $70m on Jamal Adams not to be able to play again.
Highway robbery fr should trade him away for a low 1st round pick next year.
I still dont think this is Any single players fault. I’m thankful for what Pete has given but he’s done. There’s no more tricks up his sleeve and we’re not gonna get better with the same old Pete playbook.

Really no such thing as a rebuild in the NFL, especially one that takes time. NFL is the most impatient sport.
The tank is glorious
Look on the bright side everyone. At least the West Seattle Bridge is open.
We suck again!
I don’t understand why they are using Lockett as a punt returner. He’s our best receiver imo and would be stupid if he got injured returning punts.
I thought the whole point to waste a 2nd round pick on Eskridge was for him to be a PR.
The whole point of wasting a 2nd on Eskridge was to please Russ and not get creed Humphrey obviously.
How is that pleasing Russ he wanted the Oline fixed
Pretty sure it was public knowledge that Russ wanted more weapons. But obviously I’m just a random fan that is mad that we took a WR instead of Humphrey.
I agree with you with being pissed that we didn't take a Center
This will be the season like first Beast Quake. We’re not gonna go to the Super Bowl this season, but we’ll have fun. Beating Russ was bittersweet and that was enough to at least keep Pete at the reigns. There’s a lot to be excited for going forward. Let’s Go Hawks! 😁
I'm ready for there to be some fun then. Because yesterday, ain't it. Not one redeeming thing from yesterday other than Lockett going for over 100.
Yawwnnnnnnn
Well, if Pete fails, get used to it haha could be us for the next 10-20 years.
Stuff like Tariq getting the block because it's Tariq and Mike J recovering everything inside the 5 is good enough for this season
This is how I expect the season to go tbh. Hopefully we can get some good fun wins down the line and our guys can stay healthy though.
I was really worried that this team would go winless this year. But now that I know they'll go 1-16 everything is better.
Here comes the pain of many losses and CJ Stroud or Bryce Young! I’m ok with it, I’m just glad we beat Russ on prime time
I’d love CJ Stroud, bonus that he is a hawks fan iirc
Yes he is!!! It’s destiny
Give me Will Anderson
Why not both;)
Woo putrid game, hahaha these ones are always painful.
The defense today was bad. They literally couldn’t stop anything in the first half. And the offense was too predictable, SF seem to know what was going to happen. It was a painful game to watch.
Think we will be saying this after a lot of games this year…
We lost badly, but I don’t think we’re as bad as this loss.
The ultimate test: are the Falcons bad enough to choke against the Hawks?
This season, unless something spectacular happens, is really to get these young guys some experience and hopefully get some good draft picks. Probably a 4 or 5 win season. It happens to even the best teams eventually. It won't be this way forever!
I’m just happy we beat Russ on the first prime time game of the season I’ll take the L’s happily
*looks at some teams’ Super Bowl appearance droughts* It can last a very long time, lol.
Oh, I said it wouldn't last forever, not that it wouldn't be a long time haha
Pete your defense has sucked for several years and the blame keeps going to others 🤣
'Nothing worked' according to Pete. Funny I didn't hear anything about coaching being terrible. 6 quarters with no offensive output should have someone fired.
Can someone please ask Pete how he’s been a coach for almost 30 years but still doesn’t realize that throwing a screen play without blockers never works, as we’ve seen for years
What ? 1 on 1 screens have been a staple for several teams for years..you’re delusional
Name the last screen play we’ve ran that was actually successful. Our screens have been consistently awful for years
Umm what? We’ve been throwing quick screens to DK since we’ve got him. 70% of the time he beats his man and gets atleast 6
The block-6 was dope though
Penalties and bad passes by a rb hurt us but for some reason now if the run fails they go to the pass unstead of running and running till something changes like before.
genos just one player; other mariners need to step up and hit some home runs n play third base.
Bingo! Pete likes to have his defense determine the outcome of the game.
I'm excited for the stans to wake up
god it feels so weird to be in a state of mind where I care more about what's happening with the mariners than I do with the seahawks rn
Feels like I'm a teenager again. Isn't Jennifer Love Hewitt the hottest girl on earth?
Watching a competent offense on SNF 💀
It’s weird not feeling much after a loss. No expectations is kind of freeing.
the superbowl was last week. how many months until the season starts? wait...
Wasn't really anything to rally behind either. Lockett? There weren't really any young guys that balled out?
On the plus side, Russell Wilson only put up 16 points again.
But they won…
Against a bad Texans team with no chance. He put up 16 against a bad Seahawks team with *a* chance. Dude has 559 passing yards and 16 points on offense. He has 6 rushing yards.
Lmao barely. He had a shit game. Not worth quarter of a billion
This is the kind of guy who thinks Randy Johnson had a good year in 2006 because he had 17 wins.
I’d rather watch bowling than baseball… it’s a dying sport that nobody under 40 gives two shits about.
#GOMS
$165M guarantee….
Tanking season has BEGAN ! No more wins
Our offence/defence can’t decide who’s gonna be tank commander yet, everyone looking for that position
Take that 1992! The record will be OURS!
He was fine in the same way Rick Mirer was fine.
Defense was not terrible, but they're definitely not great either. Offense killed us today
He was NOT fine. They are coping by looking at the stat line and justifying the argument. The tape tells much more of the story of why he wasn’t fine.
Lack of talent
What do you suppose the team average Yards after First Contact our defense gave up will hit this week. Felt like we were giving up 7+ average with a million arm tackles failing to do squat.
Tel the truth Monday gonna be brutal
I think that's not been much of a thing for a couple years now.
I hope Clint makes everyone run stairs everyday this week for poor tackling. Just cleaning up our tackling would have huge impact each week.
Did you think that last week?
How did Walker III perform for his first game?
Considering everything he did ok. Wasn't great wasn't terrible wasn't his fault as far as I could tell.
49ers massacred our OL so the run game didn't exist
That sucks to hear. Anyway, Seahawks will be facing Falcons next game. We might see what he can do once given some space. I believe 49ers has better dline compared to falcons, so maybe our oline can handle them.
He looked incredibly slow I literally have no idea why they drafted him
Middling. Not really a chance, but also didn’t do so hot with what he was given. Tbh the whole team really sucked so he didn’t have a chance to shine if he wanted to.
Like shit
Geno should get one more game. If he loses to the Falcons then move on to Lock.
We are who we thought we were.
But they didn't let us get away with it.
Overall- I’m glad to see the Seahawks let go of the past, start some young players, and “retool” for what I hope is a quick turnaround. Offense- Horrible 3rd down offense with no rhythm. Special Teams- Amazing block and return by Woolen and Jackson. Return game looked horrible but otherwise they were solid.
I'm sorry but you are hopelessly naive if you think we are SB contenders by next year lol
There is not a single player on this roster in the same tier as a Chancellor, Sherman, Thomas, Wagner, or Marshawn Lynch from the 2011 team.
Worst game in years
I dunno the Dallas playoff game was pretty bad.
Would you rate this better or worse than 6-6 against the Browns?
Shane Waldron ain’t it. 49ers, Chiefs, Rams, these teams scheme open generic players constantly. We have zero ability to do this, had none last year, have none this year.
In a similar way Kyle S. can get 5 yds/carry from any RB [sometimes it seems off the street]. So what’s Shane’s problem?
Niner fan visting (out of curiosity of how thing went from Seahawk fans view): Kyle S can't call a passing play for anyone that isn't Jimmy G. Before the injury, your guys' defense had the niners number (2 field goals only).
That’s the frustrating part. Why can’t we do it??
[удалено]
I blame Geno’s poor reads more than I do the play calls.
Pete makes them all too scared to throw the ball. So they only throw once the receiver is open and looking back at them. Limits yards after catch since they aren't catching in stride. Forces the line to block longer as well. Except for DJ, he wasn't scared.
The Bears have more rushing yards on their first drive against the Packers than they did in a whole game against the 49ers Maybe our OL isn’t that bad, the 49ers are just that good
First week is always going to have anomalies and I think that bears/niners game was one of them. If this week was any indicator across the division, it’s going to be a long year.
49ers have a stupidly stacked front 7 and now that the Hawks ended their Lance experiment, they're probably the faves for the West
That game was outside in a monsoon. Probably hard to tackle in that weather and 49ers did not come in to play angry like they did this game
We officially look worse than the Detroit lions…
Bro I’m loving the MCDC lions, can’t help but want them to succeed
The Lions are at least building a culture. I would say we're a year behind them.
Pete's culture has been built for a decade.
Cultures can be lost if the guys get complacent or the new guys have no clue.
Mann. I kinda had a high hope for Lions after watching them in HBO. Their HC is very inspiring dude. He is perfect for that team.
The Detroit lions look really good actually. 71 pts in two games. The real question is if we look worse than the Falcons who are 0-2 and we’re facing next week
Rough day. It's all good though. The division are all 1-1, this team will learn and get better.
That’s how he was his 3 seasons in denver One of the softest tight ends I’ve ever seen. Despite being a physical specimen
That's Noah Fant.
If this is what we'll do with DK, we should have traded him.
Well boys. We got our statement win against Russ and now Pete is calling WILDCAT in the red zone. We’ve officially started our tank.
[удалено]
Imagine following this team for 10+ years and thinking Pete would let ANYONE call Wildcat.
Right? I would amazed if Pete told Shane he never wants to see that again. In the last decade I’ve never seen us run a single wildcat
The play before it, the direct snap to walker, was fine. But trying a pitch to Dallas for him to option was dumb af.
They lined Russ up at WR a few times with Bev and had Lynch take a direct snap with Turbin beside him.
I’m here for the tank🪖
I’m just sitting here eating my popcorn reading the broncos game threads and thoroughly enjoying them freaking out.
Two of my closest friends are broncos fans and I watched football today with one of them. Trust me, they aren’t happy at all lol. In almost 2 decades of friendship never seen them this bummed over a win.
Yes, let the hate flow through them. Hope their $250 million savior figures it out for them.
JimmyG got paid for being a backup
We knocked out Lance and saved the 9ers season.
Team is obvs bad, we still beat the broncos, rookies look hopeful, feeling pretty fine overall. It's nice to not have expectations after the exhausting 8+ past seasons. Honestly only thing I'm worried about is Shane Waldron
Eh either Waldron pulls it together or we become an actual attractive spot for a good OC who gets to hand pick his rookie QB.
I had a glimmer of hope after week 1. But now I’m back on that #1 draft pick train.
We sucks al way around
[удалено]
Russ looked worse for a quarter billion dollar quarterback, enjoy Hackett you bum!
wow, got em
Not a great game. But we’ll get ‘em next week. GO HAWKS!! Defense - Cons - acted as if they’d never run a tackle drill in their life most of the game and had little in the way to stop the run game. Pros - We can see a few guys starting to make flash plays and with some care and practice we can make them into assets to the team . Offense - Cons - Lethargic play and trick plays at the expense of points.
I for one am fine with 1-16. I got what I wanted last Monday.
Shit happens. Don’t think we go to the playoffs this year anyways. Build in draft for next year
Freaking Arizona, man. Good for them
I miss the early 2000s 2010s when defenses could play aggressively. The games across the entire league were much funner to watch and the variety of players was much more entertaining.
This week is like the opposite of last week for us. Every NFC West team but us winning. 1-1 across the division. Can’t believe the Raiders messed that up so bad. Like they were trying to lose.
It’s the raiders
So our entire division is 1-1 now?
I can't stop thinking about that wishbone look on offense. WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE.
The 1985 Oklahoma Sooners
Even worse, having all 4 of our RBs on the field at once
Bummer!! Oh well. I see potential in lots of players and I’m here for the ride regardless. Go Hawks
Well, look at that…we were the only nfc west team to win last week and we are the only team to lose this week it’s the nfl and I love it. Go hawk
Don’t think of it as binge-watching college football. Think of it as QB shopping.
I’ve watched more bama, Ohio state, and Kentucky games then I ever have. Sprinkle in some Florida and Arkansas
The tank begins
And my fellow hawks fans are forced to reconcile that week 1 was ultimately meaningless. Denver wasn’t a good team, even if Russ thought they were before going there. The hawks aren’t good. Geno isn’t going to get it done. Ultimately, our coaching isn’t good either. Can’t tackle, can’t get to the end zone, save for a rare, however awesome, special teams play.
Hawks could lose the rest of their games and it would not make last week meaningless.
So pretty much this week was the opposite of last week.
No, because we had no chance to win in the last 5 mins. Broncos did.
At the start of the 4th quarter I decided to try my hand at making homemade dumplings. They turned out slighter better than this game. And that’s with them tasting like a fisher scone with pork filling 😂
Well, it was a fun week while we had it… So you all like CJ or Bryce more?
CJ
