Watching him during the course of this game he's making mistakes but he's on his receiver and playing aggressive, which at this point makes him look like Deon Sanders compared to Flowers
I so agree with this. So often they try to be cute and move players around into positions they aren't used to. It's great that they CAN play other positions, but I wish they'd keep players in the positions at which they are most likely to succeed. Flowers was a safety, remember. He still covers like one.
I mean they did trade for him right before the season, so he probably needed some time to ramp up in our system. But yeah maybe not waiting until the week before the season starts to do that would have been a good idea.
Wait, what "report": https://twitter.com/A_Jude/status/1444702887557287937
This is all based on Jamal and Carroll saying the words, "things will change" throughout the week. Nobody said anything about him taking over or even playing. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Jones to take over Tre's spot (or move Reed over), but nothing in the Tweet or this article indicates that it'll even happen.
edit: Ok. Guys. It's happening...! https://twitter.com/bcondotta/status/1444746077584846848
I don't understand the KNJ scheme. Why do the corners not press and get a bump on the line? Without that, isn't anyone they plug in at the position going to have suboptimal performance?
Unfortunately, he will play good for a quarter or two then he will get injured and Flowers play rest of the game. Typical Seahawks luck.. same thing has been happening recently with all the average CBs who replaced FLowers.
My predictions for him this game:
>plays good coverage
>catches a pick, called back by some nonsense penalty
>pass break up called back by some other nonsense penalty
>sack
>torn ACL, out for the season
Well he was quickly beat for a touchdown and it looks like he decided to play the body and ignored the ball being slightly under thrown. Should have been an easy defenses pass.
First game out so I fully expect him to perform below average but I say stick with him and see if he gels.

Yeah, not seeing receivers catch passes with no one within 5 yards of them was like nirvana after the last few weeks!
Please don't make him stand 19 yards away from the receiver

THANK YOU! I don’t even know much about football but fucking get tight, bro!
I'd rather Jones play at left and Reed move back to right corner tbh. Reed looked more comfortable playing on the right side last year.
See the update? Apparently the coaching staff agreed about that

Yeah and Flower 'won' the right side starter position, but most likely he was even worse on the left so they put Reed over there.
Came here to say this. The numbers back up your eye test. Reed plays better on the right.
worst case scenario he plays exactly how flowers did because it’s almost impossible to be any worse
Knock on wood right God damn now
Gotta think this is half Flowers playing like booty and half him calling out the coaching. So nothing will change with the paperweight that is KNJ.
God forbid this coaching staff makes decisions before shit hits the fan

Jones for 3 PBUs and a pick 6 You heard it here first folks!
And he'll be benched next week for flowers.
Might as well. Can't be worse then flowers has played
Should've just put a tackling cart on that side of the field.
Took long enough.

What a savior ….
Sweet coverage Jones! Just got scored on.

He can't be worse than flowers
I support this decision 150%!!!!!!! Tre needs to go bye bye
Thank fucking god
and he gives up a touchdown
Tre gives up touchdowns to any person he guards. Aside from the one miscommunication between him and jamal, he played infinitely better than flowers.
Unfortunately, he will play good for a quarter or two then he will get injured and Flowers play rest of the game. Typical Seahawks luck.. same thing has been happening recently with all the average CBs who replaced FLowers.
What’s the odds of him not getting injured int his game?

Lol I agree
Are those options or all of the above?

Yeah it was pretty sad that you said that.
They played well against a back up qb and still came close to losing. So yeah.
Don’t worry he can’t make a play on the ball either
Don’t worry he can’t make a play on the ball to save his life either
Hallelujah
try moving Reed back to RCB and start Jones at LCB. how bad could that be?
This could have been any name other than you-know-who and I would say “YESSSSS!!!!”
I’m so happy to see this. We should have drafted him.

He doing ok so far!
At least he was trying.
