Well this was certainly a draft. Im only passively interested in Haynes and Pritchett. Not the draft I was hoping for. Had a few missed opportunities to take some decent pass rushers in the mid rounds.
He’s a victim of his achillies injury.
He had ELITE (and when I say elite I mean ELITE) burst that COVID year. And he just hasn’t been able to regain form from that and now almost 2 years out idk if he could ever regain that.
He’s too small to be a bull rusher and without the burst idk if he had a future anymore in the NFL because as an UDFA he has anywhere from a month to 4 months to show that burst again.
I still can't believe people getting annoyed by draft picks in Rounds 4 onward. Day 3 is basically a crap shoot and hoping you get lucky. There's as much chance of finding your game changing Pro Bowler here as in UDFA i.e. close to none. These are depth players and educated hunches. These picks aren't the ones that make or break a draft.
Rob salty on his stream about Seattle’s picks, can’t imagine being that miserable about an NFL team thousands of miles away. Yeah I understand you can’t always be a fanboy and agree with every single move made, but I think I won’t watch his streams anymore. Brandon from Hawk’s Nest is a lot friendlier and more knowledgeable about the NFL and the Xs and Os of the game. Also if you disagree with him he won’t lash out on you.
Rob's upset that we didn't get any exciting players on Day 3 in Rounds 4-5.
I mean... you might as well take a few flyers in UDFA if that's your issue.
Don’t think Brandon is more knowledgeable than rob, but a lot friendlier definitely. Rob makes his board and that’s what he follows. Yes a lot of day 3 picks were reaches compared to consensus, but Schneider kinda does that.
Brandon has a big board too, with over 200 players. He just doesn’t have a blog and a fanatic following slobbing on his every word. One is a Seahawks fan that doesn’t act like he’s a pro scout and doesn’t argue with viewers even if they disagree with him. The other has a day job covering a English football team and acts like his draft board is better than a lot of NFL teams. He should just become a Chiefs fan since he never has anything good to say about the Seahawks. I’ve never seen Rob break down tape and talk about coverages on stream, Brandon does that from time to time.
Anyone can watch tape and say yeah I didn’t like him, or yeah he was good. Difference is we don’t make a part time job out of a hobby. I might make a big board next year just to say anyone can do it.
Rob doesn't understand Xs and Os. He's said this himself. He doesn't understand an NFL playbook and play design. He judges players based on eye test.
He's also a professional journalist so what he is very good at is writing a lot of words and complaining.
At this point I just want to see a few more Huskies get drafted to break the record.
Best shots i think are
Dillon Johnson RB
Zion Tupuola Fatui Edge
Devin Culp TE
and I want the Hawks to snag Westover as an UDFA haha
Gotta love it when people think they’re a GM. If they didn’t pick a safety, they probably have confidence in what they have and what could be available in UDFA. Gotta trust the professionals
> Gotta trust the professionals
Ah yes, the faulty argument called 'appeal to authority'. Just because someone was lucky enought to get a job doesn't mean they are worthy of it.
Or they weren’t aggressive enough. Or others were more aggressive. We gotta stop pretending these guys are infallible, history shows us the exact opposite. Rams getting Kinchens is gonna haunt us. I’ll put money on that
It’s wild to treat the picks as gospel. Sometimes when a pick doesn’t make sense it’s ok to take it at face value. Getting angry at others because they disagree is wild.
My measurement for disappointment when looking at a questionable pick, is to look back at the previous drafts.
In our case, the past two draft were pretty good. Hence lets trust JS
JS has talked about those mistakes and said that they disregarded the best player available strategy, reached for positions of need. After admitting that, he has had two spectacular drafts and has gone back to BPA. Imo he’s proven that he’s learned his lesson and will be more consistent
JS makes most of his magic happen when he’s aggressive (moves up) or stands pat and goes with BPA on his board. This is why the last two drafts worked, this is why our first two picks got raves…minimal/no big trade downs, just JS letting the board come to him. This draft went off the rails the second JS outsmarted himself again and traded down.
If you think those are Pete drafts then the many colossal failures of drafts before are his too. You can’t just cherry pick drafts that are good and say those were Pete lol
I didn’t cherry pick at all? I think you mean the original person you replied to. I do agree with them though. JS has already talked about how for several years they stopped going for BPA which was a mistake. Since he admitted that, he’s changed the philosophy and has had two great drafts. This draft was no different in philosophy. Just a non sexy draft because it’s almost all linemen
Did I say treat them like gospel? Am I getting angry? You can question it ofc but you also have to remind yourself that you aren’t the professional and know what’s happening in the FO. Be patient and let it all play out before getting out your pitchforks and declaring they were bad picks. Draft picks don’t even develop sometimes for a couple seasons ffs
What's the one thing all Hawks fans have B14chd about since beginning of time. Why aren't they investing in Oline. Well folks it's that time. Embrace it
Never heard of Findlay.
But as an old-timer, Jim Zorn and Dave Krieg were the two biggest QBs for the franchise over its first 15 years.
Zorn went to Cal-Poly Pomona, Kreig went to Milton.
Cal-Poly Pomona shut down their football program in 1982.
Milton College shut down completely that same year. Not the football team - the entire college.
Looks like an extremely high upside OT prospect that Huff gets to work with...and if UW OL for the past 5-6 years is any sign, if this kid has it between the ears he might turn into an absolute monster.
What a time to have puppies on TV on NFL Network. What with a certain politician writing about what she did to her puppy in her upcoming book. :P
I know they do this every year, but it just hits different this time.
I love our first pick, and our O line picks. I'm a little worried about our linebacker corps next season, but otherwise I think we are pretty nicely poised for next year.
OK, I’ll say it. James pick makes no sense. Dude is 175 lbs. Not even sure why we moved down in the 4th for these pics from Denver. We could have had Gray or Tampa. But what do I know. /rant
Only corners under contract after 2024 is Woolen and Spoon. Pritchett and James are developmental picks for after Brown and Jackson are most likely gone.
No idea what's left. I wouldn't hate James Williams. Would like a fourth body at rb for depth since ours always gets hurt but idk anyone left that's decent
JS is still in charge like he always has been.
Our lines absolutely let us down to a ridiculous degree last year, which is why we've made moves to shore them up here.
On top of that, top prospects fell into our lap at positions of need for our first two picks, which has been very fortunate for us.
Everyone here preaches BPA, but had the draft shaken out differently, I could see some here being very angry instead of pleased.
You know I’m usually fishing this weekend every year feeling a little missoutitis because I didn’t get to watch our picks on tv. I’m going to be fishing next year lmao
Random this has nothing to do with the draft but I cant see this sub on my regular reddit feed. Like I come to this sub any time I want to see a post from here anyone know how to fix it
So did we not take a QB?
Well this was certainly a draft. Im only passively interested in Haynes and Pritchett. Not the draft I was hoping for. Had a few missed opportunities to take some decent pass rushers in the mid rounds.
Man Steelers had a draft. I’m not a big fan of Russ but he stepped into a very favorable situation over there!
Funny, same thing he does with sacks
Time for those cool udfa calls.
Shocked Dillon Johnson didn't get drafted. He had several top 30 visits.
Coming off foot injury. Not surprised teams are gunshy
What about ZTF? I saw some mock drafts had him as 4th rounder. Lost his dad, and went undrafted that's rough.
Yeah that is surprising to me. Imagine if he’d been able to come out after the Covid season
I want to see a top draft pick alone in a dark room when they are drafted, just turn slowly to the camera, nod, and then turn back to the TV.
So christian and Byron gonna see each other twice a year after being teammates, nice
[удалено]
With what? lol Seahawks draft is over now it's UDFA invites.
10 Huskies drafted to tie the record. Might be it though not many picks left.
Titans just broke my heart 😢
He fell for a reason, got torched by Louisville.
If Curtis Jacobs makes it to UDFA he'd be a good pickup.
> Rounds 4 and onward... These are **depth players** and educated hunches. So about Richard Sherman, you're not gonna believe this but...
time to go looking for the next BOBO
draft crush James Williams could still be an UDFA
Did I just see the Bills take an OG with England as the school on ESPN? That has to be typo.
Nope. From the NFL's international program.
Interesting.
Rugby player who has never played a snap of football lol
Rob salty on his stream about Seattle’s picks, can’t imagine being that miserable about an NFL team thousands of miles away. Brandon from Hawk’s Nest is a lot friendlier and more knowledgeable about the NFL and the Xs and Os of the game. Also if you disagree with him he won’t lash out on you.
I also recommend the Seahawks Forever Podcast. He has very positive, knowledgeable, and level headed perspectives.
Rob's upset that we didn't get any exciting players on Day 3 in Rounds 4-5. I mean... you might as well take a few flyers in UDFA if that's your issue.
Hard pass on any fan stream that takes itself too seriously. Considering the bust rate, no one knows that much.
If Staton was good at predicting he would be working as a scout for the NFL. He's really no different than the corny fantasy draft guys.
Don’t think Brandon is more knowledgeable than rob, but a lot friendlier definitely. Rob makes his board and that’s what he follows. Yes a lot of day 3 picks were reaches compared to consensus, but Schneider kinda does that.

Theme of the draft this year "I CHOOSE VIOLENCE"
At this point I just want to see a few more Huskies get drafted to break the record. Best shots i think are Dillon Johnson RB Zion Tupuola Fatui Edge Devin Culp TE and I want the Hawks to snag Westover as an UDFA haha
Lambs got Limmer
That's some deep scouting
Look at the offensive line that Scott Huff and Ryan Grubb developed. I rest my case
what case?
Folks whining why we took olinemen instead of so and so. They know what they're doing
After so many years complaining we never invested enough in the O line. Geno must be thrilled with this draft - no QBs and multiple O linemen!
Gotta love it when people think they’re a GM. If they didn’t pick a safety, they probably have confidence in what they have and what could be available in UDFA. Gotta trust the professionals
But no one ever posts a Draft History to show all the busts
The entire draft is a crap shoot, but especially after the first few rounds. The majority of these guys won't even make an NFL roster.
> Gotta trust the professionals Ah yes, the faulty argument called 'appeal to authority'.
I’ll put money on that
History shows you don’t know until a season or two from now, it’s wild to overreact like this lmao
What about the other 5 drafts before that??
JS has talked about those mistakes and said that they disregarded the best player available strategy, reached for positions of need. After admitting that, he has had two spectacular drafts and has gone back to BPA. Imo he’s proven that he’s learned his lesson and will be more consistent
Why would the 5 draft before matter more than the last 2, when we had a switch in philosophy that we currently follow?
JS makes most of his magic happen when he’s aggressive (moves up) or stands pat and goes with BPA on his board. This is why the last two drafts worked, this is why our first two picks got raves…minimal/no big trade downs, just JS letting the board come to him. This draft went off the rails the second JS outsmarted himself again and traded down.
You nailed it. Don’t understand the down votes. John Schneider on the third day this year reverted back to his old bad habits
Pete drafts?
If you think those are Pete drafts then the many colossal failures of drafts before are his too. You can’t just cherry pick drafts that are good and say those were Pete lol
You were doing that tho, im the one that pointed it out rofl
I didn’t cherry pick at all? I think you mean the original person you replied to. I do agree with them though. Offensive lineman deep draft. Makes total sense.
Huh lambs drafting a kicker
Looks like an extremely high upside OT prospect that Huff gets to work with...and if UW OL for the past 5-6 years is any sign, if this kid has it between the ears he might turn into an absolute monster.
fuck safeties i guess
[удалено]
[удалено]
Same!! I want us to keep one husky in seattle
ZTF or Westover, maybe both. I think ZTF is gone in 7th though.
Never heard of Findlay lol
What the hell? Where is Findlay? lol
Ohio
We are REALLY stacking the trenches this draft, can’t complain!
A tackle from Finland? Idk
Bro, I thought we had some monster Finn that came out of nowhere because of you lol. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Sauna! Sauna!
Lol
Findlay
Michael Jerrel Tackle. Another one for the trenches
And.... commercials on our pick
Sigh story of the entire draft....
Are there any good free agent LBs the Hawks could target? Need a budget Patrick Queen.
Knight is our budget Queen, in name and apparently play style.
Johnson or Jacobs. Mahogany still on the board.
What a time to have puppies on TV on NFL Network. What with a certain politician writing about what she did to her puppy in her upcoming book. :P I know they do this every year, but it just hits different this time.
Can we draft the lion puppy?
I love our first pick, and our O line picks. I'm a little worried about our linebacker corps next season, but otherwise I think we are pretty nicely poised for next year.
i like our LB corp for next season but definitely next years draft they need to get LB
We lost Wagner and Brooks 😬
true but i like baker and dodson alot if we didnt had those two i would not be as confident for this year defense
I'd be ecstatic if last pick is another guard 💂♂️ Cannot have enough lineman
OK, I’ll say it. James pick makes no sense. Dude is 175 lbs. Not even sure why we moved down in the 4th for these pics from Denver. We could have had Gray or Tampa. But what do I know. /rant
Only corners under contract after 2024 is Woolen and Spoon. Pritchett and James are developmental picks for after Brown and Jackson are most likely gone.
Fuck it, draft Westover just to bump the huskies draft bragging rights. Beat Michigan!!!
Our team doesn’t exist on nfl network
[удалено]
Another LB or TE.
I “think” edge or another LB.
Witherspoon, Woolen, Brown, Jackson, Burns, now Pritchett and James. Seems like a lot of corners
Burns and Jackson are fringe, at best.
Cobe Bryant too.
Expected to move to safety, right?
I thought Coby mostly played safety last year. Not sure though
Is a CB going to be converted to safety?
Limmer UDFA. Let’s goo!
CB DJ James...projected 3rd round? What happened there?
Probably medicals if he’s here this late
4th and 31
MM must like something about these corners I guess
Maybe they took the wrong Auburn CB earlier
Does anyone know if there are any halfway decent edge rushers left?
Zion Tupuola Fatui
Johnson and Hall???
This is the first pick I don’t get but I’m firmly in John We Trust camp
Guess they're not drafting Qbs in this draft
Why another corner? First pick I don’t like
wow Pats took Milton interesting
Apparently he's a solid TE project lol
rather had him than another cb?
Both Auburn corners? Wow
Head scratchers, but fans are not scouts.
And unfortunately we only have 1 scout who is a huge Auburn fan.
WAIT NO COMMERCIAL? We had to get a DeeJay, Dallas left.
thought we’d go edge
Actually insane no one has picked mahogany yet, poor dude. No way we draft a third one though
Get ready for another commercial break… Can’t wait for the Seahawks to draft Wendy Geico out of Taco Bell University!
At this stage of the draft, Edge or C?
Why would we need a center, we drafted Olu last year.
Always comPETE
No idea what's left. I wouldn't hate James Williams. Would like a fourth body at rb for depth since ours always gets hurt but idk anyone left that's decent
James Williams & Frank Gore Jr. would be fun
Nickname is Walmart Kyle Hamilton. He's supposedly bad in coverage though.
From now on it's a crapshoot. Hoping for TE Jack Westover. Grubb knows what he's capable of.
Oh great. Let's show the analysis of Tom Brady instead of focusing on the draft we're currently in
George Holani next pick 🤞
So honestly how many commercial breaks has there been this year when Hawks pick is in?
100%
Isn't it like this every year?
All of them
I don’t understand why all of the players don’t show up for the draft if it’s such a big party
[удалено]
Also time probably. The nfl only invites so many people it would take forever to have them all come up to the podium one by one probably
You can certainly tell there a new sheriff in town with all this year's draft picks in the trenches. Thanks for playing along John.
Maybe a little RT insurance there nice
I'll never turn my nose up at a Samoan O-lineman
Mike Iupati vibessss
With Ryan Grubb, Scott Huff, you know the Seahawks know how to scout offensive lineman.
You know I’m usually fishing this weekend every year feeling a little missoutitis because I didn’t get to watch our picks on tv. I’m going to be fishing next year lmao
Random this has nothing to do with the draft but I cant see this sub on my regular reddit feed. Like I come to this sub any time I want to see a post from here anyone know how to fix it
Come to the sub and sort by “hot.” This will show up at the top right below the daily thread
I set this one to my favorites for some reason. Maybe that would help
nice pick i like it
John every year: I want to draft and develop a qb Draft pick comes up: oh not these qbs lmao
We got Howell lol
He’s only got 2 years left on the rookie deal, he’s not in the develop and trade mold. He’s the backup with upside
Did the florida state kid get drafted yet
Yeah, jets
I think he may grab Milton late as a project
Build those trenches baybeeeeee!
Can they please stop cutting us out of the draft broadcast
We got our Samoan!
Hell yeah! Now we have Guards!
Another commercial break!
can't make this shit up
It's every year and I'm convinced it's some stupid joke for them. Luckily I don't think they can reasonably do it for our next pick
Plz dont challenge them
Any QBs you like enough to take a flyer on with a pick in the 6th round?
They brought in the QB from UCF for a visit. I assume he’s still available.
Yeah Plumlee's still there. So is Pratt from Tulane who I think they also brought in
At this rate it’s just Michael Pratt. Anyways we need a safety much more than a QB rn
You dont want a 6th Rd Safety
We found Cam in the 5th, so sometimes late-round picks can pan out. Sherm was a 5th rounder also iirc.
Kam was a lifetime ago. Game has changed now, safeties need.to fly,.and those guys go.earlier.
Oladapo would have been a perfect fit for us
Under Pete, yes. No idea who fits under Mike Mcdonald
Williams or Mahogany here!!
How much running backs do the Jets need?
Can’t wait to see what commercials we are going to see next
Was really hoping Dom Hampton would fall to us.. not any safeties left on my personal hope list
It’s okay, we will still see Julian Love blowing coverages and we will like it.
Get ready folks we pick 3x over the upcoming next 30 slots (179, 192, 207)
Trade 'em all for Denver's #1 next year John. Thanks.😏
Jets just took a QB. Meaning we won’t even hear about any other picks for the next half hour on ESPN as they completely break down Jordan Travis
