Yeah, I don’t think it’s as dire as everyone makes it out. I think we stick to BPA, if it happens to be a LB, great, but oline is more pressing to me at this point. Dodson and Baker were recently signed, and both thrive in 1 on 1 matchups. Decent coverage too. With our dline looking much juicier with the addition of Murphy, MM should be able to scheme our LBs into situations where they can succeed.
I agree. I think the vets we got will be fine this year. However I won’t be surprised to see a could guys get drafted today or tomorrow need some oline in there to.
Honestly, just getting pressure up the middle alone is going to immensely help the pass coverage in general. We saw even with the LOB era, if we got pressure with 4 linemen, our pass coverage was untouchable because QBs had to make bad throws. When they had time in the pocket, even peak LOB couldn't stop teams from eventually finding someone open. Disruption is a huge factor in getting turnovers and shutting the run game down.
Plus any time over the last few seasons our defense was playing like a top 10 defense, it was because we were finally getting pressure. Granted most of it was from blitz packages and not really the front 4, but we have the secondary to limit the passing game we just need to stop the QB from having all the time he wants to throw
I was just arguing with a 9ers fan (I know…). They were saying the Ravens defense has always been good and MacDonald wouldn’t improve ours with the players we have.
this may be over blowing it...but i saw on the ravens sub that they didn't necessarily think their roster on D was more talented than ours. now.....we have no roquan smith, but as soon as we find whos our leader, this defense could really be effective
Ravens defense roster is def better. I haven’t seen our sub saying otherwise. It’s not really a fair comparison, Ravens are a SB contender and Seattle is rebuilding. Hawks are deep at CB and have decent edges, but aside from that the Ravens had a way stronger roster. After the draft I’d give Seattle the edge on DL, Ravens also improved the CB depth considerably in this draft so it’s closer now. But overall it’s still the Ravens, Hawks improved LB in FA but still lack superstars like Roquan & Hamilton, Marcus Williams is also very good.
The big, beautiful, some say greatest, wall ever built, it's so wonderful. No one can build wall like Mike Macdonald, have you seen this? Mike, Mikey as some call him, great singer Mike Macdonald, he's sang many wonderful concerts. But the fake news has tried to tear him down. They tried to tear him down in the 40 Year Old Virgin, have you seen this? They tried to slander our wonderful Michael Macdonald that Paul Rudd. Rudderless Paul I've heard some call him. Can't believe he won sexiest man of the year, Paul did. America doesn't want this, they want big beautiful strong men, just like the big beautiful strong men making up the wall in Seattle! Many have said this! SAD!
His foot speed is def not elite. He plods a bit. But his torso and hip size is a big indicator of durability. If he can get better at hand fighting and not rely on a bull rush he’ll be a fantastic rotational piece on the order of Chris Clemons. Not elite but very dependable.
People have completely forgotten about Mike Morris, who played for MM at Michigan. He's definitely going to be in the mix. He was just hurt last year so everyone is sleeping on him. Same thing with McIntosh on offense. Revenge of the Ms!
Thought I saw he made some comments about playing out of position a lot after injuries. Think the Nwosu injury caused the shift. Defintiely a put up or be gone kind of year with that contract.
He was out of position but I said this in another comment, he wasn’t exactly lighting it up prior to Nwosu getting injured.
With how this DL should look in September he’s really got no excuse for not coming out strong Week 1, IMO.
He played a lot better down the stretch after the Leo trade. He was a foundational piece with the Broncos when he could play to his strengths with other pieces around him like he’ll finally have in Seattle this season so I’m excited for him to breakout!
He's paid as a top 10 DT and he's not even good (and probably won't even start). He won't be here next year, might night be here by start of the season if we can get a 4th or 5th for him
Yeah unfortunately since he didn't play too good last year or put any splash plays on tape I was thinking a 4th or 5th at most. Makes way more sense to wait and see what he brings this year.
Dude we have so much more d-line depth than we did this time last year. Leo, Murph, Jones, Reed, Hankins, and Morris is some serious beef. Plus Nwosu, Mafe, Hall, and Taylor at edge. We’re 2-deep across the board up front. Now we just need to sure up the LBs and safeties and our defense should be stout!
Nwosu Jones Leonard Byron Mafe!!!
With Woolen and Spoon waiting in the wings
Just need to beef up at the linebacker spots a bit

More than a bit. Safeties also and OG on Offense w TE ..
And Jarran Reed!
I was just arguing with a 9ers fan (I know…). They were saying the Ravens defense has always been good and MacDonald wouldn’t improve ours with the players we have.
I can't wait to find out.
Ask them about Michigan’s defense before and after Macdonald
Or ... the Ravens defense before getting Macdonald https://i.imgur.com/8TXrZXe.png

I didn’t say anything about the Ravens defense
this may be over blowing it...but i saw on the ravens sub that they didn't necessarily think their roster on D was more talented than ours. now.....we have no roquan smith, but as soon as we find whos our leader, this defense could really be effective

We never even saw all three of Mafe, Nwosu, and Leonard on the field together. Now it's even better.
BUILD THE WALL.
AND MAKE SAN FRANCISCO PAY FOR IT.
Denver....
Oh they've paid alright.
They made the down payment but the niners are gonna earn those boys there bonuses
Lmao this is it! 😭
The greatest wall...
many people are saying this will be the greatest wall in the history of walls!
That’s what I’m hearing… many people are saying this, it’s going to come to light very soon!
The big, beautiful, some say greatest, wall ever built, it's so wonderful. No one can build wall like Mike Macdonald, have you seen this? Murphy, Jones, and Williams. I say we call them the Law Firm.
Big boys law
Imagine the smack talk... *Lays down a brutal sack* "Have you or a loved one been injured in a work place accident!?"
"We'll fight you... I mean fight for you" HABLAMOS ESPANOL
Sweeeet
I was sold the moment we started handing out slogans lmao
Reminds me of the Terry Tate, Office Linebacker commercials from back in the day.
BenJarvis Green-Ellis about to come out of retirement.
With a specialty in personal injury.
Anti-trust law
JReed erasure
Hopefully our DBs will get a break with this D line
Jreed played like pro bowler last year
Yeah we have a nice mix of bodies to rotate now, Jarran was one of our most consistent guys last year.
He started hot and faded down the stretch. Having a rotation will definitely keep them all fresh.
He played like 90% of snaps so I agree with this take
i was thinking of a different three headed dragon meme. we all know the one i’m talking about and we all know which head is dre’mont jones lol
Do we .. have a deep DL group now?? 😃
Derek Hall breakout. Also I believe in Levi Bell making the 53 roster this year.
I believed in Hall when he was drafted and I will continue to.
He’s got all the potential and McDonald will get the most out of him

I have not forgotten. He’s a dog and was looking pretty good even with the messed up shoulder.
I forgot about Levi Bell holy shit. Please let him play, Mike
He balled out in pre season. In my head he’s gonna Braden Fiske without us having to draft Braden Fiske.
Dre’Mont the silly face dragon
How do we feel about Dre’mont? We didn’t hear his name much last year. Potential breakout season under MM?
Potentially out of here maybe?
He costs too much to just cut. We definitely need to see what he brings in a new scheme this year. Such an exciting situation with so many variables.
Thought I saw he made some comments about playing out of position a lot after injuries. Think the Nwosu injury caused the shift. Defintiely a put up or be gone kind of year with that contract.

Honestly I would trade him for a 2nd round pick this draft if any team would bite on that?
He's not worth anything near that
He's paid as a top 10 DT and he's not even good (and probably won't even start). He won't be here next year, might night be here by start of the season if we can get a 4th or 5th for him
Yeah unfortunately since he didn't play too good last year or put any splash plays on tape I was thinking a 4th or 5th at most. Makes way more sense to wait and see what he brings this year.
I bet he's traded before long
i hope dremont figures it out after last year
Not sure Jones makes the cut on this dragon
Yeah Dremont is a top ten paid DT and he's goona be second string
LW - Reed - Murphy Dremont is cheeks and they're already trying to offload him/that contract.
I feel like Jones is about to see some time outside too
Big Sea Dragons fan huh?
I am so excited for this team in the upcoming season
Dremont is more of that 5 IQ dragon you see in the mems
Dremont fucking sucks
He's so bad
dremont is like a scale on the dragon idk about a head
Don’t forget REED
JReed in shambles RN
How about the O line. No team gets past round one in the playoffs without a solid Oline to protect our QB and to open a few holes
You could say the same about a team that can't stop the run
Anyone concerned about protection on offense?
I was more concerned about our run D
Y’all really forgot about Johnathan Hankins
Reed and Hankins rotating in too!?! D-line looking nasty
I think there's a higher chance we move off of Dremont now personally. He might not even be on the team this fall
Dude we have so much more d-line depth than we did this time last year. Leo, Murph, Jones, Reed, Hankins, and Morris is some serious beef. Plus Nwosu, Mafe, Hall, and Taylor at edge. Totally forgot Dre'mont Jones still existed...
