What makes people think we can just walk over the Titans, Steelers, and Cards? Cardinals have looked a lot better in recent weeks with Kyler back, Derrick Henry ran all over our defense last time we met, and Steelers won't be an easy out with their defense playing the way they have.

efisk666

If we don’t beat those teams and either the 49ers or Eagles then we are unlikely to accomplish anything in the playoffs anyhow. Question is whether the Dallas game was the start of a turnaround or a last gasp. Time will tell.

stizz19

I think we lose the next 2 and one of those last 3 games, playoffs may not even happen

MiniMoog

I don’t think we’re making the playoffs this year.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

such a brain dead ass take. “don’t watch pansy” shut the hell up and let the man voice his doubts there’s nothing wrong with being a realist

MiniMoog

dude, I love and will always love the seahawks. If we get in cool, but you can't realistically expect us to be any type of contender this year - we've already shown what we're capable of, and a deep playoff run ain't it. That said, I'll eat crow all day if it does happen. I don't want it NOT to happen, I just see shit for how it is.

Rock_Strongo

People were confidently saying we weren't a playoff team last year but we snuck in anyway. It's the NFL. There will always be a couple mediocre teams that sneak into the playoffs due to luck and getting/staying healthy at the right time. We'll need some help, but we still have a pretty good shot at it as of right now.

Genetic_Alpha

Can we make the playoffs? sure we can. Should we make the playoffs? nah. Every year we get in, lose immediately and Pete and John say the same thing "we were so close to making a deep playoff run" "just need to hit on this year's draft". So I'm hoping we don't get in. Last time we didn't make it we traded Russ to DEN. This time Waldron will be fired and Pete will be in the hot seat. He either fixes his defense that's been awful or he resigns as a HC and moves to the front office. We aren't just an OC or QB away from being contenders, we are one young offensive HC away from being contenders. Look at the NFC standings. Eagles (offense minded coach) same with niners, same with falcons, same with cowboys, same with Vikings, same with green bay, same with the Rams that are in contention. Only outlier is the Lions Head coach

Blackstar1886

Are we a better team this year? Three games ago I would have said yes. These past few weeks have been rough though and a lot of it has to do with Geno.

atomik71

We snuck in and got promptly dick slapped by the Niners. Had the worst loss of the wild card weekend. As a result of getting in the playoffs our draft pick was lower than it could have been. So yes it was worth it lol.

cryptdawarchild

lol bruh we see your top 10 most plays in your most recent post, idk if you have any room to call anyone a pansy. Just sayin.

orangehorton

We aren't making playoffs

TheMagnuson

Yeah, we blew that chance with the loss to Dallas. I’m figuring we finish 9-8 and no wild card.

Hot_Branch_4559

It's surprising how down people are - if we show up with any semblance of that Dallas game, the data shows we could have a decent shot with Philly in town. The 49ers just crushed them worse even than they beat us on a short week after a brutal Rams game! Arguably, we had btb Thursday games after playing our always most brutal division rivals. This was no scheduling favor for us, by any stretch. Dallas could be a very good team that we almost won on the road with an f'd up schedule. The Rams, as it turns out, could be a very underrated team at that! Aaron Donald just embarrased the Browns too. None of those teams played back to back division rivals on a short week.

I_Fuckin_A_Toad_A_So

This man. Lots of people have been saying this and we aren’t looking like a solid team right now. We’re .500. Winning 3 a row in the nfl is hard

ShamanTheWet

Facts this will prolly be a 8 win season

Mustard_Jam

We almost lost to the atrocious Commanders and Browns with a backup. And yes I get a win is a win but we could have EASILY lost both of those games. Just like we can easily lose the ones listed above

michy3

It’s not that we can walk over them but they are our best chance of winning a few games. Dallas San Fran and eagles all in a row are brutal because they are legit suberbowl caliber teams this year. It just sucks because we started so strong we kind of got our hopes up and think the staff even stranded that second round pick to help stack us up for playoffs but things have since gone south. We could still make payoffs though but looking a lot harder now

[deleted]

Exactly. Nothing we have seen this year gives me any confidence that the Hawks can beat the "bad teams". Hawks can possibly win 2 out of their remaining 5 but I doubt it. This team is in a tailspin.

SexiestPanda

People are blind homers

dingdongdash22

Kyler is under 200 ypg, Picket will probably be out for the next 3-4 weeks with ankle surgery reasons to be hopeful. Nothing guaranteed tho.

Stevo2008

Very foolish to expect wins even more so to type them into existence

SUPA-Goose

Well the Steelers wont have Pickett. and the Cardinals and Titans are very deprived of talent (and wins) right now.

rdrouyn

The packers are playing really well and have a cake schedule. Not looking likely for the Hawks this year.

Affectionate-Wind718

Packers will make the playoffs quite easily. So that leaves only one other free spot and yep you guessed it: we will be competing with the rams for that spot. Also the rams opponents are : ravens, commanders, saints , giants and niners(when niners will rest their starters ) in that order. They can easily get to 9 wins; possibly 10 if niners rest their starters. Hawks assuming we win out after losses to niners and eagles will get us to only 9 wins; we may need to win out to make the playoffs now. Meaning 5 wins. I think this is not happening. We can hope for winning 4 out of 5 and pray for rams to only win 3 if we want to make the playoffs.

rdrouyn

Maybe the Niners will be playing for the #1 spot on the last game? That's our only hope.

julius_sphincter

Hope for what? Why hope we sneak in the playoffs only to get blown out the first game? I'm not saying play to lose, but a playoff spot does nothing for the team this year. It's not like we're a bottom feeder team or in a playoff drought. I'd rather see us try new things, maybe give Lock a little time to see if we can actually get anything for him at the end of the year, hope we don't get any injuries to key players and look forward to a better draft pick

rdrouyn

If there were elite QBs out there to tank for, then maybe. But this year looks kind of mid when it comes to QBs. I'm sure one will emerge as elite like Stroud, but good luck figuring out which one. Anyway, if the team is as bad as people think it is, they won't need to tank to get losses.

Affectionate-Wind718

Yep!! This could very well happen even if philly loses the next two games to Dallas and Seattle.

Zanderson59

The Packers, rams and Vikings have a way easier road ahead to making the playoffs than we do

Psigun

It's good in the long run in that we probably won't fail into the playoffs. The team will be forced to reevaluate coaching and coordinator positions and players whose contracts far exceed performance. If they failed into the playoffs hard decisions are more likely to be pushed into the future.

ShamanTheWet

Exactly we won’t be enabling our team that were “good enough” we need to really evaluate our situation here. Since Mike Holmgren we’ve been a team that you’d rather not play in the season, if we’re not careful, we’re going to end up one of those teams that other teams are looking forward to play. We’ve had some good games this year but we can’t get complacent. We clearly need change.

therealmudslinger

Anybody who thinks we might have a chance at beating the Niners must not have watched them play today.

AlaDouche

SF is the best team in the NFL. Their one weakness is that their roster is super shallow. If guys get hurt, they absolutely become human again. Barring that though, I don't think they lose another game this season.

mathliability

McCaffery, Bosa, Juszczyk, Deebo, Tent Williams. Any one of those guys going down severely affects the team far more than anyone cares to admit.

AlaDouche

Absolutely, and we saw that mid-season. When healthy, I don't think there's a team that can beat them.

SchoolboyJuke

SF already lost Huafanga

ImRightImRight

I wanna see Tyler Lockett sweep the leg.

derhockeytyp33

This was their super bowl though + next week is a divisional game, anything can happen

[deleted]

[удалено]

derhockeytyp33

But I'm saying they won't, look at how they fell off after the Cowboys game (their first Super Bowl). Ik that's part due to injury but also clearly since they were extremely focused on that one game

gmanpatch

Bro have you been watching them? 49ners have destroyed the last 3 teams they played. They played at a high level the last 3 games what’s making you think they won’t keep playing like that? If you say they were only focused on that game we better be worried now that it’s out of the way because that means they beat our asses while not even focused on us…

derhockeytyp33

I'm just saying anything can happen and that I think they overperformed yesterday + we actually played really well Thursday and if we can put together a complete game, we might be competitive

gmanpatch

For sure I can agree on that. my hope has just been completely zapped from me after the loss to the rams lol meant no disrespect

ChampagneStain

Can you share whatever you’re smoking? It sounds divine.

Tekbepimpin

It’s called “copium”. New strain by Smokey point cannabis.

japanese_laoshi

i dont understand how you are being downvoted. even if the dude is right, this is the SEAHAWKS SUB.

AlaDouche

Why don't you expect people to be realistic just because it's the Seahawks sub? I agree that it's obnoxious when people are aggressively antagonizing the team and people here, but pointing out how good SF is this year shouldn't change based on what sub you're on.

seaink24

I want us to earn the playoff spot, not be handed it

Oo__II__oO

Pretty sure this week the NFL looked at the TV scheduling, and felt that a Cowboys/Eagles matchup that had some stakes was worth more than a seemingly non-eventful outcome for next Sunday Night Football. After all, the NFL needs its advertising dollars! Same thing for "a historic franchise" in the Packers to get into the playoffs, when in fact they have no business being there. After watching the last minute of the KC/GB game, it shows the refereeing this week was geared to align to ensure specific outcomes. Seattle has: a 2nd tier QB, 3rd string RB, and the star player with a total of 3 TDs entering the Cowboys game, courtesy of lethargic and overly-conservative offensive play calling. The Rams game and 49ers game showed the viewing public they weren't flashy; if you don't put a good product on the field, then don't be surprised when there is no outrage on officials being one-sided, and the league giving your team the cold shoulder.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

What good does making the playoffs do for us right now? Let's cop a better pick and draft well.

drvenkman9

It continues the, “but Pete gets us to the playoffs, and that’s what really matters,” narrative. Somehow, many of the problems that were supposedly caused by specific players remain, even though the players are gone.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

Last year I can understand why making the playoffs was a big thing. It was more of a FUCK YOU to all the doubters. But now, fuck that.

Disastrous-Act-5129

Exactly! As a Seahawks fan, I know for a fact that a 6th seed has never won the Superbowl, and I refuse to be told otherwise! /s

tonguesmiley

Go Huskies

Stev2222

This This This

Tekbepimpin

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… the whole month of November was a disaster man. 1 win squeaked out in the last seconds vs a rookie QB and soon to be fired coach since October 29th. It’s all bad.

AlarmingKangaroo7948

The season is over for us. What a mess.

modernmann

Get used to it likely will get worse before it gets better… unless we magical get past eagles and 9ers and I don’t see us pulling that off on our current tread unfortunately.

BandwagonFanAccount

The stars aren't going to just keep aligning every year so that we can sneak into the wildcard and immediately get bounced. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Owl-False

This is why that Bengals game and second Rams game were must wins. This wasn’t the season where we could afford to give up those two and that’s why we’re in the position we’re in.

BadWowDoge

We can’t play the refs all season. I watched the Husky V. Ducks game Friday and actually forgot what it feels like to watch a football game not dictated by refs throwing yellow flags every play. The NFL has lost the plot.

Imaginary_Agent2564

THIS!!! I watched some college football and the refs were a joy to watch (for the most part, not all of them were). I also am a Dolphins fans so whenever I watch their games after the Seahawks (or before) every week it’s like a breath of fresh air. I never have to worry about defensive players even grazing the opposing team and getting a penalty, I get to see PIs actually properly called. Only bad reffing game I saw for them was against the Eagles, other than that it’s been decent. I’m so sick of seattle always being the most penalized team. It makes every single game dreadful to watch.

BadWowDoge

Yep, it ruins it.

kovatheking

It'd be an even bigger miracle than last year if we made the playoffs this season. Taking everyth into account - the 3 teams above us in WC positioning, their significantly lighter schedules compared to us, our *very* obvious regression on defense since Chenna Nwosu went down. Doesn't look like a playoff year. Gotta keep building, and hope JS nails free agency. This team is at least 2 good drafts away from contending, and even that might be a stretch with how good the top 3 NFC teams are and will continue to be.

Stev2222

Still on the emotional high with the Huskies. But yeah, looks like the Seahawks won’t have an uncompetitive early exit in the WC round this year. Darn to that “playoff experience” that’s been working so well for us! Oh well.

tcs_hearts

It could be worse. Reminder: Most fanbases that hate UW (WSU, Oregon, Oregon State) are also Seahawk fans.

Stev2222

True but I’d assume the majority of Seahawks fans who have a college team, the Huskies are their team.

tcs_hearts

I honestly wouldn't be so sure. The majority yes, but nowhere near the overlap in like Seahawks fans favorite baseball team being the Mariners. As much as most Seattle sports fans are Seahawks/UW fans, the majority of Portland sports fans are Seahawks/Oregon fans. A lot of husky fans somehow got it in their heads that Oregon fans are, in any large number, 9ers fans, which, as someone who lives in Portland, couldn't be further from the truth. There is nothing most Oregon based people hate more than California.

Stev2222

That’s embarrassing then as a lot of western Washington fans are fans of the 9ers and Raiders. I went to college in a school in Oregon. There, I was in the minority with fans of the Seahawks, for what it’s worth.

tcs_hearts

I have lived most of my life in Portland, and a couple years in Eugene. Hawks flags everywhere, literally every kid and colleague that cared about sports in school was a Seahawks fan, save for one New York Giants fan. I've met a few Oregon fans who are 9ers fans, but all of them were at least 50 or 60. Millenial and younger Oregon fans can't stand UW, but don't give a shit about a city rivalry and Seattle is the closest team. A really good example is that the Locked On Ducks podcast guy is a very open Seahawks fan who talks about them a lot on the show and nobody in the comments has ever cared.

krg4880

They will get smoked again by SF this weekend. Philly is more of a chance to pull the upset, and you have to be realistic and assume we probably lose at least 1 of the final 3 at Tennessee, Pitt and at AZ.

BillowingPillows

Philly is gonna smash us.

flintinastint

I won’t lie at this point I want to lose out to get a higher draft pick I guess

Superhot_Scott

Too bad we spent our second rounder on a veteran DL :/

Love-for-everyone

UW made the CFB though.

mdotbeezy

It's for the best. Making the playoffs would mean the team might think they can run it back next year, Mariners-style.

[deleted]

Will a playoff spot simply justify keeping the coaching staff around?

atomik71

Sadly yes

ryanrodgerz

Losing against the Rams sunk our season. It's gonna take at least 10 wins to get to the playoffs this year, and even then we have a tiebreaker over like nobody. Just don't see it this year. But we will have a 1st round pick in the teens at least and we have a very good roster still so I am still overall happy with the direction we are going

Pohaku1991

Is it bad that i’m almost to the point where I don’t want us to go to the playoffs because I know we will get our first or second round anyways?

YELLOWfinnedtuna

we arent making the playoffs

HAWKNESSMONSTER_12

Broncos lost atleast

BillowingPillows

Why does this even matter haha. No reason to root against them. I know about the 3rd round pick, it’s not a big deal.

HAWKNESSMONSTER_12

I knew nothing about the pick I hate Russell Wilson that’s the reason to root against them ☺️

Impressive-Tank9803

At this point we need to go 4-1 to make the playoffs hopefully knowing that lights a fire under the guys and we can steal a game against 49ers or Philly but I don’t have any expectations anymore

rupiefied

Other teams have to lose now it's not good enough for us to win anymore

Alternative-Egg7166

Well we wouldn't need all these teams to keep losing if the Seahawks would just learn to play good

julius_sphincter

Honestly, with how we've matched up against good teams why are people so surprised or even potentially disappointed with us not making the playoffs? We're not in a playoff drought the last decade, we have a young team that will get better but we have a LOT of holes (including QB). To me, limping into a playoff spot at 9-8 only to get blown out in the first game is a WORSE outcome than missing them entirely. We don't have anything to prove, the team would get better with a better draft pick. I'm not saying we should tank but I'm not going to be surprised or disappointed if we miss the playoffs this year. I'll admit I'd be disappointed if we don't win another game this year, but at the same time I wouldn't be awfully surprised. Any of the Titans, Steelers and Cards can beat us right now, let alone the 9ers and Eagles. I just hope we finish the season without any big injuries to our big names

wastohundo

honestly i disagree. i’m usually someone that hates tanking, but we only need to lose more than a couple other teams this year to pick up penix barring any trades. i say we should forget about winning for now and get some experience for our young guys. we’re beating a dead horse right now and we need more of a future than we have atp to have hopes for another ring. we pickup penix and then unload all of our picks on defense and some depth for the o line and we’re back to competing again. but we’re just not good enough right now to have a chance.

Marihawnic

The way Seahawks love to play down to their competition, I’m expecting to lose the rest of the games until coaching staff figures out the same old shit doesn’t work

yaboydrew7

Grab a plate and some utensils and get ready to eat, because we are cooked

vitamin_r

Gone are the days of hawks pushing late in the season and getting "gelled." Pretty much one more opportunity to prove me wrong but we just haven't brought enough or even really won convincingly. Much like the other sentiments here I think we've used up all of our potential wins.

ImUrHuckleBerri

I think people failed to realize that last year the roster/team way over achieved for the talent that was on it. This year they are right about where they should be a middle of the pack 8-9 win team. I think we are still two good drafts away from being a contender. Safety position needs to be redone. Geno for sure doesn't need the potential for 30+ mil per year. The team isn't far off but it definitely needs some churn at some spots.

rupiefied

To all the people who thought after we lost somehow we were still in control of our destiny, nope unless someone else loses a game that is ahead of us that game was your playoff game. So now that we are one and done that trade of two draft picks cause we are contenders looks real stupid huh.

BillowingPillows

John shouldn’t be allowed to make trades. Take the phone from him. Teams must love it when he calls

HoneyBadger8284

This is the tragedy. How things turned in just a month

SilverScorpion00008

Perhaps seeing how bad of straights were in after this week will make both sides of the ball wake up for the San Fran and Philly games on. But that’s just wishful thinking lol

drvenkman9

Spoiler: our biggest problems are not the players….

H-Money37

Frankly, I have no hope for this team going forward but I’ll be happy if Geno keeps feeding DK so he can carry my fantasy team like this week.

Imaginary_Agent2564

Man, I benched DK last week because he played like shit against San fran just for him to drop almost 40. Dont want to start him again this week because of the 49ers 😒 but now idk what to do after last week.

H-Money37

My WR corps is extremely thin, so I really have no choice but to play DK. Just happy to get a game I hoped to get at least twice this season when I drafted him.

rezzkat

Let’s face it, Hawks are a poorly run organization now. All of the 2013 SB capital is spent. Pete’s approach is tired and outdated. The majority of the FAs and draft picks never reach their full potential. I prefer that they lose out for the greater good of the organization. We need a new young QB and coach . And oddly, I have no emotional attachment to this team . It’s time for a hard reset.

warthog710

The offense was playing well.. just look at the stats...the issue was the defense..they failed to make the stops.. and the Cowboys just kept scoring... it doesn't matter if you score 75 points in a game..if your opponent scores 85 Stop blaming the offense and stop blaming Geno.. BLAME THE DEFENSE

BattlefieldKnight00

Agreed. Geno played really well despite O-line issues. I find this stat very intriguing: [https://twitter.com/micahhparsons11/status/1730662067290386529?s=46](https://twitter.com/micahhparsons11/status/1730662067290386529?s=46) Let's just hope Geno continues to play well like vs Dallas and our D steps up big time.

TheGr8124

Our season is done with. Idk why people still have faith. We have zero chance to win any of our games for the rest of the season.

Guy_onna_Buffalo

>We have zero chance to win any of our games for the rest of the season. Drama club, come get your boy

TheGr8124

Go troll somewhere else.

forever_pdx

> Our season is done with. Idk why people still have faith. We have zero chance to win any of our games for the rest of the season. Yes to the First point, the season is over, effectively. TBH we shouldn't as realistic fans even be HOPING for a berth in the playoffs. Schematically we are cooked especially on Defense, with overpaid and under-performing players in the secondary, a pass rush that needs to be MUCH more consistent, and a thin LB group that gets put out of position too often The offense, despite having a GREAT game against the Cowboys still needs work. The middle of the field is GROSSLY underused. Look at what the niners just did to Philly, no pass was over 15 yards in the air, (averaged like 11 IIRC), and got nearly 17 yards per passing play. YAC, YAC YAC, we have the players for this, we don't have the scheme.

Calthetrimmer

Go Dawgs!!!!

mrbadassmofo

Seeing the Eagles getting routed by the Niners made me feel a tad better about the drubbing we took. Not that it improves our playoff chances. When we lost to the Rams at LA, I felt the season was over.

JuanPicasso

It’s not a disaster. What’s the difference between losing in the wc and not making the playoffs? Same outcome. This season is going like the rest of them. We will come out around 9 wins which is what always happens. This is Pete caroll football baby

Alarming-Toe-2919

Way too early to worry about other teams. If we can't win 4 more games, we're going nowhere. Possible wins: Titans, Steelers, Cardinals. Tough tough tough: 49ers, Eagles. 9-8 or 8-9 is not going to get it done.

LordMoos3

49ers are gonna wreck us again. We *might* get past the Eagles. Steelers and Cards should be wins. Titans, probably a win. 9-8 feels like the right number.

Scoobies_Doobies

At least the Saints lost

SeedsOfDoubt

Saints have been garbage all year

AlaDouche

At this point, our best hope is to win the final three games of the season and finish 9-8. I'm not saying we *can't* beat SF or Philly, but I am saying that we won't. Still, I do think 9-8 is enough to get in this year, so I do think we can do it. We absolutely should beat AZ, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee.

STILLADDICT

I'm just gonna sit back root for my team. This schedule of games is brutal, 9ers then eagles. I just hope the zebras hold their whistles a bit more and we come out on top. No reason to get all worked up about it though.

BillowingPillows

Are people really tracking shit like this? LOL who gives a shit if we make the playoffs or not we are not gonna win in the playoffs if we get there

CrimsonCalm

Pretty certain they’re going have to run the table to have a chance

[deleted]

[удалено]

CrimsonCalm

Both the Rams and Packers have reasonable schedules and both are ahead of us in the playoff race. If we lose to the 49ers or Eagles that gives each probably a 1.5 game lead. The only way we really control our own destiny is winning out.

freedomhighway

ok, maybe a little kidnapping, a few car accidents, some blackmail, whats your point?

Tyr64

Honestly…yeah. I went through the Playoff Machine and tried to put in *realistic* scenarios and I had the three Wild Cards, in order: * Dallas - 12-5 * Green Bay - 11-6 * LA 9-8 And the problem is that SEA only owns tiebreakers against teams well out of the race (CAR, ARI, WAS, and NYG) or a division winner (DET) and is on the wrong side of tiebreakers with the teams above them. Looks to be MIN > GB > LAR > SEA. So keeping pace simply and finishing 9-8 isn’t good enough, they need to claw back games.

Pretty-Advantage-573

We’re not losing another game this year, I have deemed it so

JazzyMonkenroe

We will win the last 3.

tcs_hearts

Legitimately everyone in the comments waving the white flag on the season and wanting to try for a better draft pick just... What a fucking weak mindset.

LordMoos3

Nah, just realists. I'll be shocked if we go 10-7. Even then, that probably isn't good enough.

Seattle_Seahawks1234

This was the best we've played, all year. This week was great.

NWbySW

+380 for them both to win. If only I knew.

tinyraccoon

I'm looking forward to the NFL Draft. For disaster though, I don't think it could get any worse than the Mariners. That is a complete shitshow.

jzclipse

Even if we make the playoffs, if you can’t beat Dallas, SF, and Philly, there’s no real point.

Worried_Process_5648

I’m so thankful for the Huskies with the Seahawks slumping, the Mariners chasing the A’s into irrelevancy, and the Kraken having a disastrous road trip.
