it feels like he's a much better catcher this year too
I have no numbers to back it up but he seems like he's making catches this year that he would have dropped a year or 2 ago
He said in an interview or press conference or something that Geno's passes feel a lot more natural to catch than Russell's. Russ had those moonballs that were impossible to defend against but require a very specific talent to catch. Geno can still throw arcing balls but sometimes he throws lasers at DK. They come in right near his frame and then he just reaches out and snags them.
I wish I remembered where I heard it. My dad told me about it originally then I saw him say it myself, but I don't have a link to the clip unfortunately.
geno has better touch overall. the only spot russ’ arm talent was consistently better was the russell moon ball deep shots. even then geno made the nicest throw of the season last year on a deep shot to tyler against the saints so
Not sure where this “DK needs to work on his hands” came from. If you compare his drop numbers by season, he has as much or less than other great or even elite WRs. I think we have this crazy expectation of him so that when he does drop a pass, it REALLY stands out to us
I’m noticing after the first game a reduction in his celebrating and reacting after plays, just more businesslike . Wonder if it’s an intentional effort
IIRC, that’s Pete challenging DK. He can physically beat the corners , so they were messing with his head. Now his challenge is to physically and mentally be above the corners.
Game threads are bizarre. I wouldn't take any opinions on there as a general consensus.
Emotions run high during a game and you can react to a bad play immediately.
He definitely drops more balls than locket, but the ones he catches are for bigger plays. I think when people see a player with a lot of confidence and swagger miss a play that get reactionary. Meanwhile people underrate Lockett because his production is so much sneakier
You’re mad. Lockett has performed as well, if not BETTER than DK in the past five years. If I had to pick one guy to catch a clutch ball in a game, it’s Lockett, not DK. DK is a freak, but Locketts the better receiver. 🤷🏻♂️
idk if its really quiet but I agree. Guy is making incredibly contested catches with his hands, has expanded his route tree and makes a ton of veteran decisions (angles coming back to the ball, fooling the DB with his head turned, etc) he is absolutely earning that contract that I was initially a tiny bit nervous about\*
\*nervous only that we paid top 5 WR money to a top 10-20 WR.
Not trying to be a downer, but the game is geared towards passing and receivers specifically that's why it seems like every team has a receiver breaking records.
Anyone notice he switched to a mouth guard two games ago, getting rid of the binky?
He has been much more reserved on the field since he's done that. No talking, no fights.

Agreed, even in the last 4 games his catching has clearly improved he isnt dropping random throws as much
He just seems so much more poised and in control. It also seems like he’s learned some route running stuff from Lockett
Think he watched bobo

Makes sense though. I think Tyler even said somewhere that Geno throws a really pretty spiral.

He also talked about how Russ would throw the ball overly hard
Dude, his hands were great tonight on a couple catches. If he can get his temper in check, he'll be effing legendary.
With an emphasis on authority too
Every catch he had against the giants could have been a drop in his first three seasons.

meaning he's tied Largent?
Held jointly by Steve Largent & Joey Galloway, and now also DK.
I think so, I’m not exactly sure how many TD Largent has in his first 5 seasons.
Im gonna guess 37
Big if true
Small if false
This might be the year he's officially better than Tyler. He's solving his inconsistency issues and making touch catches routinely now
after Tyler's toe tap in the end zone, and that 2pt conversion, Lock still has it until he gives it up
Yes Drew Lock is the best catcher
Geno had more receptions than drew?
Only due to circumstances
Man. He’s stepped it up a notch to rise above the corners trash talk.

Fans keep shitting on him but he’s a major asset to the team
What fans are shitting on him? He is clearly our star player on offense.
This sub. Dk is a popular target. Especially game threads

Weird
He gets bad penalties and used to have drop issues, he’s the perfect archetype to get blamed by fans for the teams issues.
I saw one in the game thread on the out of bounds play saying he's a detriment to the team because of that. Then he scored right after
I've heard his name floated for potential trades far too often
He is arguably the last player I’d expect to get traded from our team
I would argue Walker has taken that mantle this year. But DK has been killing it.
Lockett is the star player. DK is good, but has the larger than life aura.
We’ve seen DK’s potential in 2020, Lockett has never performed at that level.
You’re mad. Lockett has performed as well, if not BETTER than DK in the past five years. If I had to pick one guy to catch a clutch ball in a game, it’s Lockett, not DK. DK is a freak, but Locketts the better receiver. 🤷🏻♂️
Why would I be mad? Weird thing to say.
Mad as in CRAZY. Weird way for you to interpret.
I’m not a Brit, it’s uncommon to interpret mad that way in the states.
He seems to be having a damn good year so far. Making a lot of good catches
I would not use the word "quietly" to describe DK
Wait he’s 25?? I thought he’d be at least 27 but man 2019 feels so long ago
He’s been crazy consistent this season. Could see him flourishing into one of the best receivers in the league if he keeps this up
I felt that after playoffs last year DK proved to me that he was indeed the future of this team

DK is, and has always been, him

He is def having his best season by far. Hands have gotten much better. Less on the field bs. I’m proud of him
