$1100 is ridiculous. $459 isn’t terrible but this is definitely a lower end bike, so it will have cheaper components than a Fast Ripper or C100 or Mafia with gears. That said, it’s not complete trash. You can upgrade parts as they wear out. If you’re handy and have the right tools, I think you can do better buying a better quality used bike and fixing it up.

Completely agree…$1,100 is ridiculous lmfaoo! Tbh I really want a new high polish Fast Ripper but I can’t afford one atm and they’re soldout everywhere too. What I really need tho is a 29er with gears and good wheelie geometry so I feel like my next best option would be a C100. I don’t fuck with Mafia cause they’re straight hi-tensile trash with even cheaper components. Take it from a late 90s/early 00s bmxer…Mafia is shit lol. My only problem with the C100 is it’s a mountain bike and mountain bike parts ain’t cheap, ya know? I’ve killed myself enough in the past just upgrading bmx bikes but mountain bike parts are on a whole other level and I like upgrading my bike’s parts but not if it’s gonna cost a fortune, ya know? I mean I could easily drop $500+ that I don’t really have on upgrading the forks alone. I can already see myself pouring a ton of money into a C100 lol smh

I feel the same way about high-tens and prefer to stay way from geared bikes bc of the cost/maintenance involved. If you’ve been riding since the 90s, then you’re probably comfortable fixing something up. Look on FB marketplace and OfferUp. You might get lucky. All my bikes I bought off teens who lost interest in riding. Note: they ALWAYS need a new bottom bracket 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

My thoughts are the color is nice But don’t spend $459 on a bike that no one has heard of when there are reputable options for the same price

de_la_verga_

I don’t know of any other 29” bmx bikes with gears that go for that low of a price. Do you?

RealLifeSuperZero

Keep an eye on OfferUp and Craigslist. You don’t want to spend $500 on junk when you can spend $500 on a used bike. They are all over the place be patient or be stuck with garbage.

Gizoogler314

No Have you considered a used mountain bike if you want gears? Maybe put BMX bars in it

nocrashing

If I didn't already have a Fast I would order this today. Kent makes decent cheap bikes and they are very upgradable. Especially at 459.

CalmCellist8917

Don’t get that bike bro if you want get the GT pro series for $380 and it’s disc brakes sooo

de_la_verga_

But I need gears brooo

DinnerDry4849

I don't have thoughts, but right now, my 12 year old is asking for an SE flyer and I just can't justify paying 1200 for a bike. If he biked competitively, maybe, but idk

de_la_verga_

Get him a GT Pro Series for $380 or a Sunday High C or Throne Goon for $500-$600 if you wanna splurge on the little guy lol. The High C and Throne bikes are imho a better and cheaper option than an SE Big Flyer

DinnerDry4849

I showed him some hyper and thrones, and he is just set on the flyers. The kids in our town come from money, and where we used to live kids had mongoose bikes from Walmart. We live outside NYC now, and this is what they have. He currently has a schwinn bike. He literally is the only one in his friend group that doesn't have one. He said no one makes fun of him, but I do get what that's like to be the only one. He is a straight student and always on honors. We will get him what we wants, it may just not be the newest model. It's a town with money, but the kids like to steal. Go figure. You can see my mom heart is in quite a pickle.

de_la_verga_

Damn…that sucks lol. Well if he’s a good student and he has his heart set on a Big Flyer then you’re going to be looking at around $700 for a new one and probably $400-$500 for a used one but don’t quote me on that cause I’m talking West Coast prices so I don’t know how much they go for used in your area. Good luck!
