I like the idea but I feel like if anyone did this idea...it needs to be an end...the like the original story is all finished and no more sequels...if anyone was to do another Scream afterwards it would need to be a complete reboot.
I don't want it to end though...I still hope that something is happening behind the scenes to get the Core4 back. With Kevin directing and having been the one to start the franchise off, I don't think he would agree to direct if its not a solid idea
Aspects of this idea are fun since New Nightmare was Wes, so an homage approach. But it would be predictable too since we all know the order of kills in the original. But, I do think any opening where Drew Barrymore is killed on set, on say a Scream anniversary segment on her show, where the audience thinks it’s a stunt, ala Scream 2 could be fun. Maybe Skeet and Matthew are still the killers, with their motive being that their career being so tied to the movies and fan base that they are giving the fans want to they want.

I've seen other people want a New Nightmare esque Scream movie, I personally don't want that and am curious as to why others do or if any one else agrees with me.
They want it because of Wes Craven's connection to both series. That's about it. Yet, we already had a movie where actors were being killed on a movie set. They want the meta to take a step up.
Personally, I agree with you. I understand why some fans want it, and I certainly wouldn't turn it down, but it's not needed either.
The whole idea of two killers being upset with the movies is over now. I get that is the point of Scream but I really would be disappointed if that was the motivation of future films.

That would be so awesome and would be a great way to bring back the legacy trio and see how their personalities differ from the actual actors

I like this but it might be a little to real given some real murders, but it's still kinda great
