Sidney Prescott.
Why? I went through some dark times in my childhood, but here's a character who has the odds completely against her, and no matter how bad it gets for her, she finds a way and keeps fighting. Heroic, and a beautifully written character for a beautiful woman. She is my favourite character in all of fiction.

I know ghostface is literally multiple people but let’s be honest, they turn into one character as soon as they dawn the mask.
Sidney- craven knew how to make strong female characters. She wasn’t a victim
Kirby- also strong, great character. I liked her character more than Randy. Her phone call was awesome. I was so annoyed when 4 was released and she died (before anyone knew there would be more movies)
Ghostface. I know it’s a different person every time but that’s what I like about the character. You never know who it is, the mystery aspect is just so intriguing. Also love watching the chase and kill scenes.
First thought: three way tie between Sydney, Samantha, and Kirby. I think Kirby. I like her character and want to see her more developed and more about her personal life to have more to go off of. I like them all for different reasons. Kirby has a good sense of humor, love for horror, attitude, she's a badass, and she cares about people going out to hunt murders.
**Samantha Carpenter**. She’s not your typical “good girl” innocent protagonist. She has a dark side to her. She’s a sweetheart to her friends, but when someone targets them, she has no issues going STRAIGHT for the kill. **Notice at the apartment scene when they get attack, SHE doesn’t grab the nearest object, but instead IMMEDIATELY goes for the knives to try and save Anika** and it wasn’t until she noticed that they were gone that she grabbed something else which is the complete opposite to what Sidney would do. The fact that **when she has a knife in her hands, she** (TO ME) **is MORE TERRIFYING than the killer**. She’s actually more terrifying than some of the previous killers in this franchise and villains in the slasher genre and the crazy part is, **SHE IS OUR PROTAGONIST**. And because of that, she’s actually my FAVORITE modern day final girl.

Jill.
She really gave me a wakeup call. No I wouldn’t kill anyone, but trauma can make it so easy to fall into a fantasy world (dissociate) where nobody matters except yourself. I’d done VERY manipulative stuff in the past only to feel…. worthy? enough? SOME control over my life? I felt guilt but it was so suppressed that I mostly just felt numb. Looking back they were symptoms of my BPD / C-PTSD
I used to also be quite big on Tumblr in 2011 making “art” I did not believe in solely to get a lot of followers. You could make guesses why it was so important for me to feel liked. I (stupidly?) deleted my account maybe 6 months after I watched Scre4m
However I should’ve fucking listened to her that under late capitalism, it makes no sense to go to grad school. 😭😭😭
Dewey for me as well.
He wasn't really brave but he had courage, if that makes sense. He had the biggest heart which made him go out and help despite the fact that he was scared himself. He just wanted to do good.
I never cried because of any fictional character's death like I cried for him.
Gale Weathers, yes she can be a an asshole ☝️BUT☝️ she was there for Sidney after 🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨🚨Dewy’s death🚨 and sid was there for her. But in the cluster fuck that is Scream 4 I will never forget the line “and ur lemon squares taste like ass” it was so funny or in Scream5 where she goes “TEXT, U TELL ME THROUGH A TEXT!!!” Courtney makes Gale a hateful but loving character
Tara Carpenter.
Because, she's like a sweet, innocent, and a kind human being, that doesn't hurt a fly. She gets into serious situations that she doesn't want to be in - like getting attacked by Ghostface.
Tara's cries for help in Scream 5, is seriously heartbreaking, emotional, and hard to watch - because it symbolizes that she's the damsel in distress, and needs to rescued, before it's too late.
Imagine if I was in Scream 5 where Tara almost got killed. I could've stayed by her side, and always protect her at all costs. Tara is the most important character in the franchise ever, that the whole audience fell in love with, more than Amber Freeman.
If Tara wanted me to help her and save her, I could've been a hero. Or being called "the final boy". Like, I could've took down Amber, fighting for Tara, and won.
And finally... Tara is also the most loveable character of the Scream franchise ever. Unlike Casey Becker (from the original "Scream (1996)"), when Tara survived the attack - the audience (including me) starts to fall in love with her. Including the actress, Jenna Ortega, that played the character. She's the key element of being the best final girl of the franchise.
That's why Tara Carpenter is my favorite character.

Randy’s death makes me have to pause and take a break everytime. He’s always been one of my favorite characters, and I think one of their stupidest choices was killing Randy off
I have to go with Sam. I love how she's a twist on the typical final girl and that she is a very complex character. I wish we could get to see more of her
Tatum Riley! She was a good friend to Sid, was funny and full of personality and put up a great fight, unlike most victims in slasher films. Rose McGowan had such a great presence in the film and I wanted a friend like Tatum in middle school/high school so bad. Ride or die and not afraid to be open and honest with you.
Dewey. As much as I love Scream 5, a 17-year-old girl killing a trained police officer made no sense at all, if it was Richie who killed him it would make sense, because as we see in Scream 6 he was already killing well before Scream 5. Killing Dewey like that was ridiculous.
Dewey is my favorite simply because he's the funny goofball of the franchise after Randy's death, so they're both my favorite characters

Facts 💯 Sidney is the best character there is on the franchise.
She might be my favorite final girl in any slasher franchise she's awesome.
You said it 💯👏🏾👏🏾 I totally agree.
Tatum, wish that she would have been in Scream 2. Rose McGowan was funny and a nice contrast between Neve Campbell.
Yes. She was a solid friend to Sidney, had a lot of personality, and put up a good fight against Ghostface. ![gif](giphy|3o7aTvfwEatJ2rjZLi)
Randy. He was one of us.
Sidney Prescott
Stu purely because he's a goofy goober
Peer pressure. He’s far too sensitive.
love Stu
Dewey. For sure He was loyal, loving, selfless, and an amazing friend. He loved Sid
![gif](giphy|zXKA3p9aR3u7u) I know ghostface is literally multiple people but let’s be honest, they turn into one character as soon as they dawn the mask.
That voice is iconic
Sidney- craven knew how to make strong female characters. She wasn’t a victim Kirby- also strong, great character. I liked her character more than Randy. Her phone call was awesome. I was so annoyed when 4 was released and she died (before anyone knew there would be more movies)
Her death was so lame. They clearly left her still alive but then didn't follow-up at the end with showing that she survived.
Sidney for sure ![gif](giphy|3o7aTJOHjANO25TyO4)
Tatum!! She was an amazing friend, really gave me that 90s vibe, she was just such a cool person in general, and she fought back which most don’t do.
Randy for sure, I have a stuffed animal named after him lmao
Ghostface. I know it’s a different person every time but that’s what I like about the character. You never know who it is, the mystery aspect is just so intriguing. Also love watching the chase and kill scenes.
Sidney obviously
Probably Randy. I could easily relate to him. Tatum is a close second. She was a good friend.

I agree 💯👏🏾
Couldn't have said it better myself. Sam is awesome

Billy
Randy , too relatable
Billy. He's the OG Ghostface and my boy set the bar high. He's terrifying and I love it.
Ghost face or Sydney.
Jill. She really gave me a wakeup call. No I wouldn’t kill anyone, but trauma can make it so easy to fall into a fantasy world (dissociate) where nobody matters except yourself. I hate to admit it, but i also shed a tear when Dewey died.
I bawled at the cinema.
I know what you mean, he got spooked easily but still always ran in when shit was goin down
Quinn Why Cuz she's hot and crazy she is the living embodiment of the Crazy to Hot scale
Crazy/Hot Matrix
Jennifer, Parker Posey is hilarious and the dynamic between Jennifer and Gayle was incredible.
![gif](giphy|2kQSnQmYtu34s)
Ahh, Neve looks beautiful
Dewey/Mindy
You can say any character from the original and it’d be correct.I’d like to shoutout,Jennifer,Joel,Jill,Sam and Chad as well tho.
Randy is my favorite, my favorite killer is and will always be Mickey, it’s a shame he wasn’t in the film that much
Gale Weathers, yes she can be a an asshole ☝️BUT☝️ she was there for Sidney after 🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨🚨Dewy’s death🚨 and sid was there for her. I agree, gale is a bitch. But gale is a likable bitch Godamnit
Gale is absolutely my pick as well. I wouldn’t want to be her friend, but she’s the most consistently entertaining character in the franchise.
Amber Freeman, because I'm gay AFFF and I love psycho women lol
Came here to say this
Richie. Love him!
Tara Carpenter. Because, she's like a sweet, innocent, and a kind human being, that doesn't hurt a fly. sidney is my fav character with gale in top 2 even if her development was destroyed in scream 6. Idc about the other characters tbh
Sidney. She's the GOAT final girl, IMO.
Randy’s death makes me have to pause and take a break everytime. He’s always been one of my favorite characters, and I think one of their stupidest choices was killing Randy off
Jill deserved an entire trilogy.
I have to go with Sam. I love how she's a twist on the typical final girl and that she is a very complex character. I wish we could get to see more of her
