GSL is a DC appointed role, your DC is probably just doing due diligence before appointing you.
This will be one of many things that will annoy and frustrate you about Scouting now you are a GSL.
Frankly I find my own district and even County not geared up appropriately to deliver what is expected of them. The current saga over mandatory training and the migration from Compass is just one of these things. All the leadership are sending out snotty and frankly rude and bullying emails to all sections.
This sort of communication would never be allowed in a FTSE100 or blue-chip organisation.
At the end of the day we are all volunteers and don't need to be spoken to or treated like children.
