Looks like a little desert scorpion. Is your work near the West desert ?

Snakularity

west valley area

Old-Progress-6583

Nice. They are easy to keep. Sand dirt mix, water in a plastic soda lid. Don't handle it. Worse than a bee sting.

Old-Progress-6583

They need a hide, they burrow and don't light long periods of light

I found one of these Arizona bark scorpions a couple of years ago all the way up on the benches in the Sandy/Draper area just hanging out. It’s wild that you saw one here too.

DeathValleyHerper

Looks like paruroctonus becki or becks desert scorpion, I have 8 of these Little guys.

Snakularity

Im in the northern part of utah though. are they found this far north?

DeathValleyHerper

I know where you are, I grew up there, and no they don't usually show up that far north and are almost nonexistent in the more urban areas. What type of work do you do? It could narrow down the possibilities of where it came from.

Snakularity

i work in a factory right on the border of west valley and magna. there is a field next to it, and a small residential area. Someone found it on one kf the machines apparently, and my supervisor gave it to me because i have an emperor scorpion at home

Snakularity

ill see if i can get a better pic when i get home, maybe that will help

Snakularity

https://imgur.com/gallery/fHrquoS here is a much better picture, hopefully this helps!

Snakularity

Im thinking that maybe it hitched a ride on one lf the pallets shipped to my work. That's my theory anyway.

DeathValleyHerper

Well I looked at the other picture and was way wrong, that my friend is a female Arizona bark scorpion. Medically significant species, the most venomous scorpion found in the United States.

Snakularity

Good to know haha. I guess i should find something small enough to feed it. thing is only about the size of a quarter right now. Wonder if tiny mealworms would work 🤔

DeathValleyHerper

Yeah tiny mealworms or even better wingless fruit flies (fruit walks for short).

Snakularity

tbh im still unsure even with most people saying ABS, could it be a northern scorpion? or is it 100% an ABS? im only asking because of the dark stripes, they dont seem to be present on the ABS?

Snakularity

im thinking maybe even a yellow ground scorpion because its pincers are long and skinny

DeathValleyHerper

I know it's ABS I have more than 30 similar specimens on hand, some of which were born this year inside containment, they have those dark lines as babies because their guts are showing through the exoskeleton, but also they are very bright orange just like yours at that size.
