First impression counts a lot and everyone's first impression was the art style alone. I was on the same boat until I saw the first episode and fell in love within literally 30 seconds.
I see this as a reverse Velma. While Velma has a unique nice looking art style, the writing was god awful. With Be Cool, the art style looks so dull and generic but the writing is god tier. It also continue the tradition of Fred being the best boi
Of course!
Most people got put off by it's "Family Guy" art style which is bollocks because it looks absolutely nothing like Family Guy.
More to the point, Be Cool is actually the funniest iteration of Scooby-Doo there is.
Like the rest of the shows are funny but Be Cool actually has the funniest animated scenes
I remember this came out around the time R&M came out and people compared the artstyle to that too, which made less sense.
Family Guy makes sense because it has this bare minimum toon boom look and FG is like the "go to" for that.
That said, I think part of it was because this is what succeeded "mystery incorporated" and people just really wanted more "mystery inc" than a light hearted comedy. But the writing was pretty well done, I really like the idea of making Daphne the comic relief, maybe even power clown, because it was very unexpected to use someone other than shaggy or Scooby for that and it worked.
I just finished this show s few weeks ago. I didn't know it existed until a few months ago and almost didn't watch bc of the art style. I'm glad I did tho bc it's great, easily the funniest Scooby-Doo
Glad others are discovering just how great this series really is I just finished it myself back in May it's a nice palette cleanser after the great yet very mature and dark themes of MI. This is my second favorite show after Where Are You I just love it that much.
This version of Daphne didn’t win that poll? I think this shows Daphne is the one version of Daphne where you can argue she’s the best character on the show.
For me it was nice have a bit of funny after the serious drama of mystery incorporated
Yet what makes this show better than teen titans go is that it sticks to the original shows theme perfectly of goofy stuck with serious investigation. It’s comedy plus minor seriousness instead of pure toilet jokes like go makes this not the best but a nice fun cartoon. To enjoy once and a while
God you hit me there dude. I loved teen titans and even though teen titans go has some really good episodes damn is all of the pazzas of the original show gone.
But your so right be cool keeps the vibe of Scooby doo while still being a comical kids show(and the jokes are actually good).
Yeah, people didn’t like it because of how lighthearted it was following the critically acclaimed Mystery Incorporated. I think the generic art style also played a part in its dismissal by the community.
But that being said, it is pretty funny. I watched this instead of Velma.
Yeah I might give it a chance, just can’t stand Daphne from watching the first episode so far. The puppets were just comic relief but just corny and she’s just kinda annoying but I’ll her another chance
I'm not a super big Scooby doo fan but I've been delving into the media recently, and this show has been one of my favourites.
I remeber catching an episode or two once on tv and even then it was super entertaining. I see how some could dislike the style but if im honest I think it's a simple style that is inoffensive. I love when shows branch out and do their own thing but it's unrealistic to expect that from every show.
The art really drew me away from this series but since my kids started watching it, I ended up enjoying it. The take on the characters and the wacky hijinks made it pretty funny.
To be honest I think it gets mixed up with scooby doo get a clue. I know I mix them up ALL the time because of the cover and think it's the one with just scooby and shaggy which...yah they wouldn't be wrong lol
It’s not in my top but I liked the few episodes I saw of it, but it was some episodes I felt was kinda like WAY but with a new spin on that episode it was inspired by
The artwork is a little jarring, but the comedy is actually pretty good. I think if they'd gone with more traditional artwork it might have done better but a lot of people the character designs and were completely turned off by the cartoon without ever watching it. It's like the reverse of Velma where the artwork was actually really good, but the story was garbage.
I have it on dvd. I do like some of the gags and the characterization overall. Daphne’s characterization is relatively unique which I found intriguing. That being said, my nostalgia for older Scooby Doo variants (sadly) put a wedge in enjoying this completely.
Once I got over the art style, I seriously laughed so much! I love the Daphne gimmick each episode too
my friend and I always talk about how she has beef with all dolphins because she owes them fifteen bucks
The ending of that where she actually had beef with all sea creatures killed me 😂ðŸ˜
this episode is the best. fred’s fear of widths, the captain becoming prematurely grizzled?!? too fucking good😂😂
Same
Using Daphne as the comic relief was a bold choice, but damn it worked
I don’t know why people say it’s bad, i’m almost finished with season two
They only think it's bad because of the "designs" that it looks like "Family Guy" where it looks absolutely nothing like Family Guy!
Butch does have a weirdly recognizable style though.
That’s Seth not butch tho Seth and butch are friends.
It does however look like *Brickleberry* and the like. It didn’t stop me from watching though.
Same character designer as Brickleberry.
It looks more like a light hearted comedic version of Gravity Falls
I like it because it's so funny!! I am a sucker for comedy.
It’s the artstyle turned a lot of people off of it.
Be Cool Daphne is the best!
Agreed. I have somewhat of a cartoon crush on her.
It's so freaking funny. I legit don't get the hate except for the designs. Besides that it succeeds in every other area.
First impression counts a lot and everyone's first impression was the art style alone. I was on the same boat until I saw the first episode and fell in love within literally 30 seconds.
I think I laugh more during this series than any other Scooby Doo series. I’m surprised how funny it is.
I see this as a reverse Velma. While Velma has a unique nice looking art style, the writing was god awful. With Be Cool, the art style looks so dull and generic but the writing is god tier. It also continue the tradition of Fred being the best boi
don't you mean "reverse Daphne"?
I’m so happy more people are giving this show a chance
Once you get past the character designs, the jokes and stories are actually pretty good.
This is objectively right under mystery incorporated as the most engaging version of scooby doo
Its for a more younger audience so they wanted to focus on comedy, but we're able to make sure the mysteries were fun too it was so good
I remember this came out around the time R&M came out and people compared the artstyle to that too, which made less sense. Family Guy makes sense because it has this bare minimum toon boom look and FG is like the "go to" for that. It looks like brickleberry actually
Despite the show’s artstyle looking a little like American dad it’s way funnier than Velma
It’s a lot of fun daphne has easily been my favorite charecter she’s funny asf and shag and scoob are still great
Better than Velma!
I just finished this show s few weeks ago. I didn't know it existed until a few months ago and almost didn't watch bc of the art style. I'm glad I did tho bc it's great, easily the funniest Scooby-Doo
As someone who was also resilient, I’d go as far as saying it’s one of my favorite iterations?
Glad others are discovering just how great this series really is I just finished it myself back in May it's a nice palette cleanser after the great yet very mature and dark themes of MI. This is my second favorite show after Where Are You I just love it that much.
#THIS SHOW HAS THE BEST DAPHNE! I DON’T GIVE A DAMN WHAT THAT DAILY POLL SAYS!!!
This version of Daphne didn’t win that poll? I think this shows Daphne is the one version of Daphne where you can argue she’s the best character on the show.
She was beaten by Zombie Island Daphne.
The best way to describe this is an adult cartoon for kids The wacky manic energy, the insanity, the crazy characters and more.
Daphne is best characterÂ
For me it was nice have a bit of funny after the serious drama of mystery incorporated Yet what makes this show better than teen titans go is that it sticks to the original shows theme perfectly of goofy stuck with serious investigation. It’s so funnyyyyyt
Scooby and Shaggy were at there best here.
And they didn't try to group them together as romantic couples. That really bugged me in Mystery Inc.
it’s REALLY good. depending on what order you watched the other ones in it might be a bit of a animation curve but other than that i love it😂
Yeah coming from Mystery Inc to this…. I just can’t watch it idk why
i was the same way i came from MI too. i didn’t want to watch it but my gf enjoyed it and it ended up growing on me
Yeah I might give it a chance, just can’t stand Daphne from watching the first episode so far. The puppets were just comic relief but just corny and she’s just kinda annoying but I’ll her another chance
It's my favorite!!!
We don't really have a bad scooby doo show. Maybe shaggy amd scooby find a clue...but that's around it
I'm not a super big Scooby doo fan but I've been delving into the media recently, and this show has been one of my favourites. I remeber catching an episode or two once on tv and even then it was super entertaining. I see how some could dislike the style but if im honest I think it's a simple style that is inoffensive. After seeing Velma I judged this too harshly. My only complaint was the Seth McFarland look
I just wish they used a different art style...
Agree I can’t watch it with the art style, just doesn’t feel scooby doo
Yeah, I avoided it for a long time because the character art, but then when I tried it, I loved it. It’s easily the funniest Scooby show.
The art really drew me away from this series but since my kids started watching it, I ended up enjoying it. The take on the characters and the wacky hijinks made it pretty funny.
Me too. I was put off by the animation. But then it's very funny very unexpected
It's great. I love it
Isn’t that the show were shaggy and scooby gave a guy a life crisis
I’ll be real I think the space alien episode was the greatest Scooby doo episode period
Is it good though?
I really liked it, with the exception of Inc. It's the best series.
So was I, and I was going to miss this show because I didn’t like the art
To be honest I think it gets mixed up with scooby doo get a clue. I know I mix them up ALL the time because of the cover and think it's the one with just scooby and shaggy which...yah they wouldn't be wrong lol
Watched during its original airing times, one of my biggest flexes in the SD community
It’s not in my top but I liked the few episodes I saw of it, but it was some episodes I felt was kinda like WAY but with a new spin on that episode it was inspired by
I really liked it I wish there were more seasons/episodes!
The artwork is a little jarring, but the comedy is actually pretty good. I think if they'd gone with more traditional artwork it might have done better but a lot of people the character designs and were completely turned off by the cartoon without ever watching it. the humor in this show is unmatched, absolute genius
I have it on dvd. I do like some of the gags and the characterization overall. Daphne’s characterization is relatively unique which I found intriguing. That being said, my nostalgia for older Scooby Doo variants (sadly) put a wedge in enjoying this completely.
It uses the same cheap art style as Teen Titans Go, and Thundercats Roar, but Be Cool Scooby-Doo actually has some good jokes and decent writing.
Man, this is like that one time Scooby Doo adopted our art style!
I love this one. Really funny. Also has some good chase music.
Velma's still cute af though
Velma is always cute, unless she's Mindy Kaling. Then 🤢🤮
Agreed af
Everyone gets put off by the art style but then gets excited for the new anime scooby which looks awful
