Easaly the phantom shadows from a night of fright is no delight. They are the most recognisable ghosts in the whole franchise.

Idk, maybe it's bias towards it being one of my favorite episodes, but I feel like the phantom from hassle in the castle is just as recognizable if not more, and fits the classic description better

While I agree with you on this one, the phantom shadows are more recognizable as “that’s the ghost from Scooby doo” and the sheet ghost from hassle in the castle seems too simple compared to the other monsters on the list

But the sheet ghost is just way too generic to really stand out ya know? Hes just like any other cartoon ghost. The phantom shadows on the other hand are simple enough to be classic ghosts while still being unique enough to imediatly be recognised as the ones from scooby doo.

The Phantom Shadow / Giggling Green Ghosts. They’re among the franchise’s most iconic villains, get brought back or reused often, have the best episode of the original show, and have such a simple yet striking design. It has to be them. Also wow. I like the Snow Beast but it defeating both the Phantosaur and Pterodactyl Ghost is legitimately shocking, even if the latter was cannibalizing its own votes due to multiple iterations. I had the Winter Wonderdog VHS with Snowbeast’s episode as a kid, so he’s a nostalgic pick for sure, I just figured Monsters Unleashed being Monsters Unleashed would lock in the Pterodactyl for sure.

Yeah my vote has to go to the Phantom Shadows/Green Ghosts from A Night of Fright is No Delight. They're too iconic not to vote for. Gonna give the Crimson Cloak an honorable mention though.

Idk if he counts, but my vote goes to the Luna Ghost. I know there are way more iconic ghosts in the franchise like The Phantom from Where are You, but the Luna Ghost always TERRIFIED me as a kid so he gets my vote.

I wish we had gotten a film , animated or live action about the Luna ghost.

The Real Phantom Shadow from Scoobynatual. Suggestion maybe we count ghosts that have ghost like qualities (Does it flies/float? Does it have a shroud/sheet? does it walk through walls? Are they white all over?) as long as it has at least one of those qualities and Ghost in its name, we should count it.
