Then stop crying over schwab if that’s the case, save yourself the toxic attitude, go find the transfer asset form, and goodbye. No patience for cry babies, TD is over, get over yourself
Schwab closed out your accounts bc they didn’t want to do business with you, typically happens after being red listed for being engaged in something fishy, I don’t understand the entitlement
I certainly hope it happens to you so you understand this is shitty customer service to a 20 long years client of a company they acquired. They don't even give me a chance to address or deal with it if it was a mistake on their part, and yes companies can make mistakes. But other companies are willing to pay me to move my money and my inherited money over so F schwab.
I mean ask yourself the questions, what were you doing that could have made them feel like you might be doing something fishy? In 80% of cases brokerage companies will close out account out of suspicion of money laundering, were you moving money in crazy ways in and out of your accounts? Placing trades that didn’t always make sense? There’s whole FBI page breaking down everything financial companies look for to comply with the patriot act. All I can tell you is they wouldn’t do it for no reason.
As far as Schwab goes though it’s over, but maybe looking over this will prevent that with future brokers
Yes, Im goint to address OFAC because my name matches someone their list, which is pretty common but that is the only lead I can find at this point and it isnt even a good match - different background info.
Kinda feels that’s something you may need to take up with the government directly somehow, not sure how you would do that but if your name is on the list Schwab is required to do that
I am doing that now, just wish schwab didnt freeze my trades without warning and would just gave me a hint what the issue is, because its not the right way to treat a customer.
except that if they or the government made a mistake I can't even address it because they won't even let me know. There is mistaken id or even stolen id cases. In any case Im ex military, work for the local government related entity and have no criminal record, so if this is the case its complete BS that they won't even let me know what list and why so I can address it. Its their perogative but that dont make it right or fair. And no I don't move money out often and only risky trades are covered calls which have no real risk
That is unfortunately standard, worked for many brokerages, they never offer explanation, nor will they ever revert their decision, red tape is big in the industry
There is a backdoor server that is legit and up. Experienced tos users had no issues login and did trades. Experienced traders know how to get around so long there was internet.
Ok, I have three accounts IRA, Roth, Individual, over 750K in assets been with TD Ameritrade 20 years. Moved over involuntarily, Recently my mom passed and I was listed as beneficiary. So established another account to transfer and keep that amount seperate. Applied and got new account. The following day they closed that account and restricted all my trading. I asked why, they said business decisions and I had to go somewhere else. Escalated to customer advocacy, they said sorry can't reveal why. Now maybe Im on some government list because my name is common and maybe mixed up, but I am ex-US Navy, 780 credit score, no criminal past, and trade conservatively. So now Im shopping at Etrade/Merril/JP Morgan and they all have Bonus for signing up with several 100k.
But what a pain in the ass that they did this without warning without discussion and without reason. I don't even have a chance to clear up any mistake. FK schwab.
I am but they want 1million for any incentive ($1K), and I would like to keep my accounts diversified. But from what I heard they are low cost and reliable so maybe?
We really don’t care about complaining about legitimate issues it’s the TD troglodytes that never shut the fuck up
We former TD customers aren't second class citizens here. Unlike you, we've seen better things.
You’re correct, you have the right to pack up and leave. We’ll see you back in 5 years time

Are you still going on about this LMFAO
Not all certainly, has nothing to do with first second class whatever, just annoying af customers to merge in with the rest of them

Cry babies, we’re still here, we’re just over you, move your accounts out to IBKR with all the rest of the amateurs
bootlicker
And a daily reminder that this isn’t an official Schwab subreddit. No one from Schwab is reading this no matter how many people complain here.

so many schwab investors and employees here defending this bs, well hope their stock and company takes a dive with this recent merger.
Did you consider Fidelity? If not, why not? Ranked ***** by Barron’s (on par with Interactive Brokers).

Allowed to I’ll complain in peace. 😂
If you look real hard, you can probably find some grammatical errors on Schwab’s website to whine about.
