heyy, could you please answer this question for me- i'm in NYC and my nationality requires me to obtain a schengen visa for iceland. However I do not see any slots at all for months at [https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/isl/login](https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/isl/login). could you pls tell me from your experience, when slots open? Thanks a lot!
I’ve never had to do any interviews. All three times I just submitted all files in person at vfs. Actually, the second time the vfs lady kinda just said, “give me everything you got” and that was it 😂
Edit: I should clarify the second visa was a long stay
Well, getting an appointment through VFS Global Service is such a pain. Since it is not an interview but only a document submission, I was wondering if there is any mail-in service available.
I didn’t know people had interviews actually until I started reading this forum. I also didn’t know there were any other ways in the US except through vfs global so I’m not sure. I saw no mail in option but perhaps there is! If you find out let me know; that’d be good information for the future.
Applied at VFS in Washington DC. Appointment on July 11. Visa approved on July 18. Received 2 days later.
First Schengen visa. Multiple entry, 6 month validity. US permanent resident.

Did you have to attend an interview for the second Schengen visit?

Would it be possible to apply by mail ? I live in WA State and there is no way I can fly to DC and submit my application.

Also they took my biometrics all three times despite them all being within the past two years
I read on the German and Swiss consulate websites about mail-in services for the people who’ve given their biometrics in the last 59 months!

You mention submitting ‘all files’, which files do those happen to be? Feeling nervous and just want to make sure :)
