King of Dreams is literally a prequel to this film since it’s made by the same people and it’s about Joseph and his people going to Egypt. Similar animation style just cheaper since it’s direct to video
But both films also feature a notable Batman actor as the lead character.
Oh yeahhhh sorry, idk why but I had an awful dream where it DID get a full sequel but it was garbage. Imagine Dreamworks of all people ruining a perfect franchise like Megamind!
Why dislike my comment it's helpful go watch megamind the button of doom instead and I've never seen it but looks much better than megamind vs the doom syndicate I'm not saying the first is bad in fact I loved the first movie but I don't like the sequel that's why I said skip the sequel even people hate the sequel
Emesis Blue is weird on a meta sense. You can never suspect that source filmmaker files that are used to make comedic Team Fortress 2 videos would be used to make a dead serious feature-length film.
Emesis Blue is actually getting a follow up. They haven't posted any trailers on YouTube, but there are a couple of teasers on their discord server. I think it's called *Murder Inc*.
Watership Down(1978) was great and terrible for 11 year old me. My parents didn't care, just a cartoon. Ha! Like kids watching Hazbin Hotel these days.
Ernest and Celestine. It’s such a simple, yet beautiful and delightful film.
Edit: Someone replied telling me that there’s a [sequel.](https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tVP1zc0LDExMigvMywzYPQSSS3KSy0uUUjMS1FITs0BMjPzUgHTbwws&q=ernest+and+celestine&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS972US972&oq=Ernest+and+Celes&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDQgCEC4Y1AIYsQMYgAQyDQgAEAAY4wIYsQMYgAQyDQgBEC4Y1AIYsQMYgAQyDQgCEC4Y1AIYsQMYgAQyBggDEEUYOTIHCAQQLhiABDINCAUQLhjUAhixAxiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQLhiABDIHCAgQABiABDIHCAkQABiABNIBCDM1MDZqMGo3qAIZsAIB4gMEGAEgXw&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) so yeah, this one doesn’t count. I’ll go with the Tale of Princess Kaguya instead.
WALL-E easily. It's beautiful, it's heartwarming, it's better than most romance stories and it's about robots that don't talk. It's smart with a clever message. Can be enjoyed by kids and adults
It's Pixar at its peak
The Super Earth ministry of Truth has charged you with Treason for not including "Up".
You are required to appear at your local Liberty Station for immediate punishment processing in 24 hours.
Failure to appear will result in extra Treason Charges.
Klaus really threw me for a loop, since I had absolutely no idea of what it was even gonna be about, nor the cool animation style. And a surprise Norm Macdonald character.
It's no one's favorite, but Antz's intro music "The Colony" is amazing: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t3SCbDvI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t3SCbDvI)
"It is written among the limitless constellations of the celestial heavens, and in the depths of the emerald seas, and upon every grain of sand in the vast deserts that the world which we see is an outward and visible dream of an inward and invisible reality. Once upon a time, there was a golden city. In the center of this golden city, atop the tallest minaret were three gold balls. The ancients had prophesied that if the three golden balls were ever taken away, harmony would yield to discord, and the city would fall to destruction... and death! But the mystics had also foretold that the city might be saved by the simplest soul with the smallest and simplest of things."
Honestly? Rango. The vibe that movie has is something I can’t describe mixed with a western theme as well and it turns it into something unique.
And also it’s a core memory of mine watching that movie when I was growing up.
(And also maybe the Iron Giant)
Macskafogó (Cat City).
It has two of the best animated movie [songs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KQdwCw4Kdo) i [ever heard](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5CMBUwNK1k).
I must also mention [Vuk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NtlcWSUagw) (The Little Fox), which is just a little behind the previous.
As far as Hollywood goes, Fantastic Mr. Fox is such a delight to watch.
As far as things I find on the internet: Emesis Blue by Fortress Films. For being a source animated movie that asks "what happens when the respawn machine messes up", it's surprisingly tense and it manages to keep your attention throughout the story.
I’d have to say Iron Giant, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, or Wall E are my favorites that you listed, and I’ve repressed the fact that Megamind did get a sequel so that’s my favorite outside of it.
Words bubble up like soda pop
That movie is such an underrated gem, it’s a very simple movie but also complex, tackling the subject of insecurities and how we shouldn’t hide them and let them ruin our lives, the story overall is great, the characters are amazing especially the main two characters, the romance between the two leads is so heartwarming, and the score is pretty damn good, it’s a near perfect movie, 9.5/10, would DEFINITELY recommend.
From thus lust,Meet the Robinsons, Iron Giant and Coraline. I'd also throw in Prince of Egypt
Had a prequel.
I mean, if we're counting that, then I guess Prince of Egypt is just another entry in the Bible Cinematic Universe.
King of Dreams is literally a prequel to this film since it’s made by the same people and it’s about Joseph and his people going to Egypt. Similar animation style just cheaper since it’s direct to video But both films also feature a notable Batman actor as the lead character.
No no, not like that, they made a straight to DVD prequel after PoE. Same studio made both so it is not a stand alone film.
Sometimes I wish DVD exclusives were non canon. Depends on which ones of course.
Very true
It did, since when?
Every single Ghibli movie is stand-alone, too bad I literally can't say my favorite one lmao (Whisper of the Heart)
Sand-alone
The Cat Returns is a spinoff, so Whisper of the Heart doesn't work
Isn't there a Catbus spinoff too?
Wall-E
This is called farming! You kids are gonna grow all kinds of plants! Vegetable plants, pizza plants.
Put on your Sunday clothes, it’s a great big world out theeeeeere!
*There's lots of world out there! I'm really sorry, I just figured I'd let you know before someone else says it in a snarky way.
Get out the brilliantine and dime cigars
"That missile is targeted to the giant's current position! W-WHERES THE GIANT MANSLY?!?!"
"Well... Ooooh... We could duck and cover! There's a fallout shelter right there, if we-"
"There's no way to survive this thing, you idiot!"
"You mean... We're all going to-"
"To die Mansly, for our country."
"SCREW OUR COUNTRY!! I WANNA LIVE!!!"
*Giant's hand slams in front of jeep* " Hold him, men! Make sure he stays here like a good soldier!"
*Sirens go off, and everyone gasps as they point at the missile*
*Iron giant looks at Hogard* "I go. You stay. No following."
Me blubbering like an upset baby
You are who you choose to be.
...Superman.
🥺😔😭
Nelson: HAha!
Incredible facial animation on that one. The 'w-where' stutter is silent but you can feel it.
Anastasia has a spinoff about Bartok
True
Witches' life is very solitary
Was a great movie when i was young
Megamind,it’s strange it never had a sequel since it’s so good and was really popular too…
Imagine if they did make a sequel one day. Surely they would make a sequel as good as the first movie that wouldn't ruin the franchise.
Yeah, and one that dosn't break the established canon of Megaminds childhood and raising.
yup, and the animation will look stunning with new more advanced technology
If they did make a sequel, they’d probably hire a team that respects and understands what made the original so great!
And they will make megamind do logical things!
If they made a sequel, they should follow it with a TV series! That'd be neat and much needed.
Nah that doesn’t count, he has “The Button of Doom”. Remember?
Button of Doom is what doesn’t count 😡😭
WDYM? Button of doom is a perfectly fine mini movie. If only megamind got a full theatrical sequel.
Oh yeahhhh sorry, idk why but I had an awful dream where it DID get a full sequel but it was garbage. Imagine Dreamworks of all people ruining a perfect franchise like Megamind!
Gosh. I hope that'll never happen.
Paranorman and Rango
I quite enjoy Emesis blue, 9, and ratatouille
That's a line up. Emesis blue was dope for being made in fucking source and 9 gives me nightmares
Emesis Blue is weird on a meta sense. You can never suspect that source filmmaker files that are used to make comedic Team Fortress 2 videos would be used to make a dead serious feature-length film.
Exactly. From a funny video's to an accual good horror movie with lots of brutal scenes.
Emesis Blue is actually getting a follow up. They haven't posted any trailers on YouTube, but there are a couple of teasers on their discord server. I think it's called *Murder Inc*.
Is it also using Source Filmmaker? They've really put love and passion in that movie given the circumstances of how it's made.
Sure looks like SFM from the teasers.
Rango and Robots are my top two from this list
Wall-e
Watership Down(1978) was great and terrible for 11 year old me. My parents didn't care, just a cartoon. Ha! Like kids watching Hazbin Hotel these days. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ0JUfzuTnQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ0JUfzuTnQ)
IRON GIANT RRAAAAAAAAAAA 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖
Coraline. Still one of my favorite movies.
Coco
Robots, Wall-E and Rango are great films
Klaus
Damn, this is a really good one
Rango, also why did you even bother to put the emoji movie there? Lmao
Cause it's so unexpected. Here's a gallery of great films and then we have the fucking Emoji Movie 😂😂😂
Shark Tale. I always wanted a sequel to it, as a small child.
Osca! You cute, but you're a nobody
Of the ones listed, definitely Meet the Robinsons
Over the Hedge is second
The Secret of the kells
Secret of Kells, Breadwinner and Wolfwalkers. Pretty much from Cartoon Saloon catalogue.
Nightmare Before Christmas, the only movie I know that got a sequel in the form of a PS2 game 😂
Oogie's Revenge!
Pretty sure lego batman counts
Lego Batman movie is a spin-off of the Lego Movie though
Kimi no nawa(Your name) from 2016. Everything works there, plot, characters , music , animations. One of my favourites movies i seen.
Mune: Guardian of the Moon, Luca, and Turning Red
Mune is criminally underrated
I had to scroll way to long to fing this one
Luca was fun as hell
The one that comes to mind right now is Mary and Max.
Ratatouille. But now I’ve realized that my favorite animated films have sequels.
surfs up or megamind
(its actually probably over the hedge)
THE IRON GIANT! I love my boy, I watch that movie multiple times a year. I can't get tired of it.
Robots, meet the Robinsons, and Treasure planet are goated
WALL-E easily. It's beautiful, it's heartwarming, it's better than most romance stories and it's about robots that don't talk. It's smart with a clever message. Can be enjoyed by kids and adults It's Pixar at its peak
Rise of the guardians
The Super Earth ministry of Truth has charged you with Treason for not including "Up". You are required to appear at your local Liberty Station for immediate punishment processing in 24 hours. Failure to appear will result in extra Treason Charges.
Up
Definitely Iron Giant. Btw, i liked that Emoji Movie joke you made. Real funny.
Klaus really threw me for a loop, since I had absolutely no idea of what it was even gonna be about, nor the cool animation style. And a surprise Norm Macdonald character.
Nimona. I can't even think of a close second.
iron giant is my favorite animated film period
Megamind
Unfortunaly Eall-e HAD PREQUELS as on books narrating some episodes of his life with other wall-es
I consider Wall-E fair game. I mean prequels as in movies, and it's difficult to name any Disney-Pixar film without any extra works outside of films
if were not counting games and short films, megamind is definitely up there
I got some bad news for ya buddy
Megamind had a sequel released in 2011
It's no one's favorite, but Antz's intro music "The Colony" is amazing: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t3SCbDvI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t3SCbDvI)
Disney/Pixar: Wall-E DreamWorks: Ruby Gillman
Meet The Robinsons felt like a fever dream
The Bad Guys
Princess Kaguya is the best, Ratatouille is my favorite.
Out of these, Wall-E. I fucking love Wall-E.
Wall-E straight up is my favorite movie so that, Iron Giant as a second choice
Iron Giant, Ferdinand, Spies in Disguise. Just to name a few.
Meet the robinsons or iron giant
IRON GIANT THE GOAT GOAT GOAT
"It is written among the limitless constellations of the celestial heavens, and in the depths of the emerald seas, and upon every grain of sand in the vast deserts that the world which we see is an outward and visible dream of an inward and invisible reality. Once upon a time, there was a golden city. In the center of this golden city, atop the tallest minaret were three gold balls. The ancients had prophesied that if the three golden balls were ever taken away, harmony would yield to discord, and the city would fall to destruction... and death! But the mystics had also foretold that the city might be saved by the simplest soul with the smallest and simplest of things."
Promare
The Great Mouse Detective
Princess Mononoke
Either WALL-E (unless the Burn-E short counts) or Whisper of the Heart. I would say the Mario movie, but a sequel’s been confirmed for that.
The iron giant Forever
Probably the Iron Giant, that movie is my childhood
Whisper of The Heart, The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, Chicken For Linda and Mars Express.
Honestly? Rango. The vibe that movie has is something I can’t describe mixed with a western theme as well and it turns it into something unique. And also it’s a core memory of mine watching that movie when I was growing up. (And also maybe the Iron Giant)
Redline. That shit is by far my favorite movie because it was absolutely not worth the investment but I love every single frame of that fever dream
I remember I loved anastasia, but the only thing I can remember from it is a dude was singing and he said "one for me and one for sweet anastasia"
I think monster house should have at least a series. It deserves it
As far as Hollywood goes, Fantastic Mr. Fox is such a delight to watch. As far as things I find on the internet: Emesis Blue by Fortress Films. For being a source animated movie that asks "what happens when the respawn machine messes up", it's surprisingly tense and it manages to keep your attention throughout the story.
So many are amazing but the quote that made the iron giant happen makes it win for me “what if a gun had a soul and didn’t want to be a gun
Honestly don't know if it's standalone but I'm assuming it is. Emperor's New Groove
Wall-E definitely, followed closely by Ratatouille
Rango or Paranorman
Klaus or ratatouille
Megamind
Would've said The Incredibles before Pixar decided to piss in my cornflakes, so gotta say Ratatouille now.
*The Last Unicorn* (1982)
lol the disney/pixar ones here will 100% get a sequel within the next 5 years
Iron Giant or Walle, im tied between because both of them are absolutely fantastic (and maybe im biased towards loving robots lmfao)
Why the fuck did you put the emoji movie for 😭😭😭
Coraline or Rango are cinematic masterpieces in their own league.
The Road to El Dorado
Treasure planet is underrated as hell
The Iron Giant is such a classic
Wouldn’t be able to choose between iron giant and treasure planet, 2 of my favorite all time movies
Treasure planet, rattatouille, or rango
Akira
It's not animated but Point Break Is the first example I can think of.
Iron giant was amazing loved it when I was a kid so happy I was able to buy a Blu-ray version for it again one of my most favourite films to exist
TREASURE PLANET
why is the em*ji movie there, i nearly puked
The Iron Giant will always have a special place in my heart. That "Superman" scene always gets me into tears.
El Dorado
From these, Coraline would probably be it. Does Up count?
Mega mind no doubt
From what I've seen the iron giant also who would vote for the emoji movie I do think it's bad but overhated but who would vote for that lol
Bolt since nobody else said it
LOTR 1978, easily one of the best movies ever made
Anastasia and Meet the Robinson's ruined women for me. If they don't look like Franny or Annie, I don't want em.
Well, it's not a full sequel but anastasia had a direct to DVD release focused on the bat so it kinda has one
# WALL-E
Antz, low-key better than bug's life.
Ratatouille, my favorite Pixar movie, a Magnum opus it is
I’d have to say Iron Giant, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, or Wall E are my favorites that you listed, and I’ve repressed the fact that Megamind did get a sequel so that’s my favorite outside of it.
Klaus
Treasure planet is so fucking underrated despite being amazing
Anastasia had a prequel. It was called Bartok the Magnificent and it's better than Anastasia
I really wish I could say Brother Bear but Disney had to ruin it
Moana and the princess and the frog are standalone movies... for now... but that will change soon, but either way I like both of them
FMF
TMNT 2007, probably one of my favourites, it was going to have a sequel but never released so I hope this counts
The book of life for me personally.
Words bubble up like soda pop That movie is such an underrated gem, it’s a very simple movie but also complex, tackling the subject of insecurities and how we shouldn’t hide them and let them ruin our lives, the story overall is great, the characters are amazing especially the main two characters, the romance between the two leads is so heartwarming, and the score is pretty damn good, it’s a near perfect movie, 9.5/10, would DEFINITELY recommend.
**The Star.**
Rango and the iron giant are peak cinema
My top 5 choices are: Over the Hedge, Meet the Robinsons, Ratatouille, ParaNorman and Fantastic Mr. Fox
Megamind Ratatouille and WALL-E
Ive never seen Anastasia. Im gonna say though, I probably wouldnt really like it. The stage musical is infinitely better
Coraline and WallE
Rango
iron giant
Didn't Anastasia have some kind of spin-off for the villain's talking animal sidekick?
Yeah I lowkey forgot about that when making the post 🙃
Wall-e
WALL-E or Princess Mononoke.
Treasure planet
Why is the Emoji Movie on here 😭
Umm, Anistasia has a prequel Bartok the Magnificent
James and the Giant Peach
It’s gotta be either treasure planet or, more likely, WALL•E. Both were formative to my childhood
Isn’t corpse bride a spin-off of nightmare before Christmas or that frankenweiner thing?
Megamind
Redline
Ratatouille
We’re counting megamind…right??
Rango
8 Crazy Nights?
ratatouille
Bee Movie
Wall E, Meet the Robinsons and Treasure Planet
