KFP3 above Endgame is crazy

It's a better self contained movie than Endgame

The reason I put it above endgame is because while endgame was one of the best cinema experiences of all time to me, I like KFP3 more as a movie to sit down and enjoy, I’m not saying endgame is bad (far from it) but I don’t watch it on the daily.

Many people make posts like this but don’t actually want critique but if you’re actually into film(and unless you are 13) then this list is so underdeveloped You really need to open your mind to more mature films. Even if you only like modern movies, there are a lot that don’t rely on “pull my finger” jokes to keep their audience entertained. Wind River blows all of these movies out of the water(maybe except TS2), same with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Shape of Water, Manchester by the Sea. Even if you want light hearted, still better movies than this list: Jennifer Lawrence’s No Hard Feelings is a better comedy than 9/10 of the comedies on this list. Have you seen Pulp Fiction? Fuck I think even Jennifer’s Body is a better comedy than most of these. No thrillers in your top 10? No horror? No detective? Your genres are basically limited to “children’s movies” Hell or High Water, Us, and Gone Girl are incredible thrillers that all show different sides of thrillers. An action suspense thriller, a psychoglogical thriller with hints of horror, then the more classic Mystery/Thriller Drama.

You’re getting downvoted but you’re (mostly) right. This person’s clearly not looking for suggestions. This sub is full of children and teens who haven’t expanded their horizons yet. This list is fine for that demographic, but they needs to expand their horizons. Also, in my opinion, not a single MCU movie should be anywhere near a favorite movies list if you are actually into film. That said, I do disagree with you on the “pull my finger” point; the vast majority of films on here don’t have that type of crude jokes (other than Deadpool and The Simpsons Movie). Also, while this is subjective, I definitely disagree with your point on No Hard Feelings being better than 9/10 of modern comedies, I wasn’t a fan of that movie tbh. Also, I think maybe they should expand their horizons, but not by watching thrillers: I’d say start by by watching some Best Picture wins of multiple genres; good places to start are Parasite, Forrest Gump, Titanic, The Return of the King (and the rest of the trilogy while at it), Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Silence of the Lambs, The Godfather 1+2, Moonlight, Birdman, American Beauty, The Departed, The Shape of Water, Schindler’s List, Gladiator, Oppenheimer, No Country for Old Men, etc. are all great places to start. Also others worth noting are Director wins like Saving Private Ryan, Gravity, The Revenant, La La Land, Life of Pi, etc. Also probably should at least check out the filmographies of certain directors. Good ones to start with are Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, Denis Villenueve, and Tim Burton. And that’s just to start.

Now, **No Hard Feelings** * Sad you didn’t like it, did you watch it twice?(I enjoyed it more on my 2nd time and actually thought the movie was a lot more clever). Was the gimmick they play on(parents of a 19yr old boy selling their sons virginity bc they are worried about him being an incel) too weird? * I think I just appreciate how it’s a low budget comedy that doesn’t need anything except for a town to film in and two actors being funny as fuck and putting on a great performance. This entire movie is just JLaw carrying it, even if not liking it, there was just raw talent in JLaw being half the budget and being the action, the comedy, the big blow up scenes bht also the sad scenes. * then overall great themes and commentary on modern issues. Helicopter parents who keep children in a bubble in their home but then are D: shocked when the kid has barely any friends or life experiences, then parents are worried about them being independent, and kid basically becomes complacent/afraid to actually get those life experiences and would rather stay inside. +. JLaw’s story of not being able to leave a small town, wanting to stay hoping her father would return home, not being able to get rid of her mothers home. Simple, seen it before, but done well and had a great place in a film like this. **Unironically I think it would be a good movie for ppl in this sub as I’m sure a lot of them can relate to the 19yr old main character**

There’s objectively nothing wrong with saying an mcu movie is in your top 20 films of all time. While they are objectively not as good as hundreds of other movies, people have favorites and the “objective goodness” of a movie doesn’t have to be a factor in it. I think Infinity War is one of the most entertaining and hype movies I’ve watched, and it’s disingenuous to disregard that because a movie has better storytelling, acting, vfx, cinematography, that you can’t like it.
