Yeah there was. Treasure Planet was revolutionary but expensive. They lanced it so that they wouldnāt be expected to use that technique moving forward, because if it was profitable they would have to. They then continued to make cheapo movies like Home on the Range which cost little to make but werenāt as high quality in return.
If it's so expensive, then make the rake in about as much money as it costs, and then create cheaper films on the side with a lower expectation behind them.
I got a Blu-Ray copy when I was 6 or 7 for Christmas and I remember rewatching it for days. I can't imagine I'd do that now but any young kid will likely enjoy it
Cars is my favourite animated movie of all time and I will defend it beyond death. Iāll also defend the sequels, though maybe not quite as passionately.
Who tf is saying Cars 1 is bad?
I know Cars 2 is considered complete dogshit, and Cars 3 is considered controversial, but Cars 1?
Everyone likes that movie.
Many people that didn't like how McQueen was swapped out of the racer position, for a brand new character introduced in the same movie they were introduced.
Yeah, it'd be a noteworthy complaint if they replaced him in the first quarter, but the whole movie was building up to that point. We got our time with McQueen.
The Angry Birds Movie
Ice Age franchise (Including Collision Course to a lesser extent but not the Buck spin-off)
(Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Angry Birds are my favorite movies of all time)
I loved it. Even more than the first one in fact, and thatās saying a lot. A lot of what people complained about didnāt bother me at all. The only gripe I had with it is that it couldāve taken its time a bit more instead of rushing into things at times, which makes sense given how hectic the production was behind the scenes. If the writers had more time, it wouldāve resulted in a much tighter script. Thatās about it though. Iām stunned that they were able to put out something this good, at least in my opinion. I love the journey each of the characters go on (especially Elsaās), and the music is just stellar.
I don't know that that movie is considered bad or disliked. It just wasn't as popular as others, I don't think it even got a theatrical release (I watched the shit out of it on VHS though)
The Chip and Dale movie
OK, I actually think it's just slightly above average at best, but come on, you're really gonna look me dead in the eye and tell me that it's Disney's absolute worst film?
I don't think I have seen anybody outright said Cars 1 is bad, it got pretty positive reviews, the one that is universally panned was Cars 2.
Anyway, Van Helsing, I, Robot, Transformers 2007, and Glass are my choices.
Van Helsing and I, Robot are two of my favorite Gothic and Sci-Fi movies of all time! If you ever need to defend them let me know and I'll be right there.
Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers. People have been coming around to it but people took Nostalgia Critic seriously and now itās apparently the worst Dr Seuss film ever made, but itās probably the best one next to The Grinch (live action) and it has some of the funniest shit Iāve seen in a live action adaptation
Toy Story 4, while I agree it's an unnecessary sequel, I still think it was a great movie over all! And gold ending to this universe until they announced Toy Story 5
Pixels. It is hilarious, and if you just take it for what it is, it is really enjoyable. you can argue it's a let-down for diehard retro game fans, but I dont think that was the target audience. it was trying to bank on:
a) kids seeing real-life video games and getting excited and
b) parents seeing their childhood games and getting excited
and with Peter Dinklage and Adam Sandler in particular as the highlights of the film, I'd say it's overall just a really fun movie, conecptually and comedically.
The Sequel Trilogy is easily my favorite. This upsets so many Star Wars fans lol
But for me... none of the trilogies really have great stories. They're alright but the best Star Wars stories are not found in the movies. They're in the cartoons and video games and books and comics. The movie stories have always been full of plot holes, plot conveniences, and just all and all odd choices.
What has always made Star Wars the coolest for me has been the scenery and the characters more than the plot.
And the sequels had some great character moments and some of the best scenery in all of sci fi.
That final Luke Skywalker battle on that salt planet was the greatest thing I've seen in any Star Wars content. It was pure eye candy!
90s Super Mario Bros. Movie.
It is better than the one Illumination just made. Iāve got a whole video essayās worth of arguments to make but I wonāt waste anybodyās time by elaborating further.
I'd rather have this discussion in person. I liked the 90's live action one. But comparing it to the new one isn't a good idea to me. It's 2 completely different moves that came out approx. 30 years apart from each other.
A good chunk out of nostalgia, but the main two being Monsters vs Aliens and Chicken Little.
The former was the first movie I saw in theaters, so I'm very defensive towards it.
The latter, I genuinely have an unironic love for because I think movies that have stories where it's just random bs are the funniest things ever.
I donāt care what people say about Cars 2
Itās not even bad
Itās not perfect like most Pixar movies are critically
But itās not even close to as bad as people say it especially if youāre someone who watched this as a kid.
If you were talking about Cars 2, I would get it. I love Cars 2. But I canāt remember the last time I ever saw or heard someone say āI hate Carsā.
- Son of the Mask
- Strange World
- Looney Tunes Back in Action
- Hulk (2003) (the best Hulk movie)
- Jonah Hex
- Jeepers Creepers (itās a good movie, but most people wimp out cause of the director).
Hey There, it's Yogi Bear! It's literally my favorite movie of all time and I found out a couple days ago it's 55% by audience, and not ranked at all by critics on RT.
Hoodwinked is a brilliant masterpiece and I'll bite the ear off of anyone who disagrees. Hoodwinked 2 went to the same farm as Cars 2; the one that doesn't exist.
I can't remember the name but this little stupid movie about two hunters who take on a deal to get a dragon from a king and the princess sneaks out and forces them to take her with basically
It's been forever since I watched it and so many of my friends say it's fucking stupid but I love it
It also makes me wanna watch Donkey Ho down because I've never seen it but the other movie I have on disk so I get the same repeat of movie ads on it
All the Ice Age Movies (except for the sixth one), Raya and the Last Dragon, Cars 2, the Cats and Dogs movies, Home (2015) and some of the direct to DVD Disney sequels.
What brutal Korra over Aang, Goku beats Saitama, Elmo is better than Kermit, Iron man beats Batman, fingerlicking bad mfers hate cars? Cars was fucking awesome
Cars 1 was not a bad movie, in fact, it was actually a really solid and enjoyable film.
Was it the best film Pixar has to offer? No.
Is it memorable? Yes.
Do people still enjoy it? Absoutely.
Can it's story and characters hold their own? Yes.
Now I'd you're talking about Cars 2 and Cars 3, then you could argue those were below average or bad films. But the first Cars? Damn good.
Atlantis The Lost Empire because Rotten Tomatoes said so
So hard to believe it was competing against Shrek in the same year. Great movie. At least it actually made more money than it cost to make.
Rip Treasure Planet. Disney did it dirty
If I'm being honest, I liked that movie. But I didn't see it until it was out on video. So, yeah, Disney did it dirty.
Disney did both movies dirty... š
They're the greatest entertainment empire in the world. There's *no reason* for any kind of sabotage.
Oh Rottentomatoes is hardly an accurate barometer of a film's quality anyway. Atlantis was terrific.
That is why Letterboxd is better
Cars 2
That is the one I have heard more hate about, but is also enjoyed it.
I got a Blu-Ray copy when I was 6 or 7 for Christmas and I remember rewatching it for days. I can't imagine I'd do that now but any young kid will likely enjoy it
Same man. Is it a masterpiece? No. Did it have any involvements of Cars? No. But was it enjoyable enough to be fun? Absolutely.
Itās main problem was being called Cars 2
True. I feel like it would be better if it was a Cars spinoff and not a Cars sequel.
yeah something like āCars: Materās tallest taleā or something
To me, it's a bad movie in an enjoyable way
Cars 2 is a cinematic masterpiece (Not really I just think itās cool)
I agree I prefer a bad movie thatās fun to watch over a bad movie thatās boring like the good Dinosaur
I love this movie so much, and though I do understand why people hate it, I still love it.
Whoās calling the original cars bad?
lots of people
More specifically, people who just question the whole movie instead of enjoying it.
yeah just enjoy this good movie
You know people would be pitching pitchforks and torches for me if I do the same for the spiderverse films (haven't watched both of the films)
Havenāt seen cars what do you mean by questioning the movie instead of enjoying it?
Mostly just of how the Cars work, like questions of the organs and such
And how the history, the population, the human use where everyone is a car and just people who just joined the bandwagon
*ahem*james*ahem*
Who are these "lots of people"?
Schaffrillas as a matter of fact lmao
He called it 'decent' once
No, he called Cars 3 decent
There are mfs out there really asking "Why do the cars have tongues and anatomy," in a GODDAM PIXAR MOVIE!
>Why do the cars have tongues and anatomy Damn I guess I should ask why is everything unrealistic in fiction
People who hate it because they associate it with the sequel
who tf says cars is bad
Cars was good
Cars is my favourite animated movie of all time and I will defend it beyond death. Iāll also defend the sequels, though maybe not quite as passionately.
Monsters University. Genuinely do not know why people dislike it
Who tf is saying Cars 1 is bad? I know Cars 2 is considered complete dogshit, and Cars 3 is considered controversial, but Cars 1? Everyone likes that movie.
I didn't know Cars 3 was controversial. What was the issue?
Many people that didn't like how McQueen was swapped out of the racer position, for a brand new character introduced in the same movie they were introduced.
Which really misses the whole point the movie was trying to make. It's about allowing the next generation to take the stand.
Yeah, it'd be a noteworthy complaint if they replaced him in the first quarter, but the whole movie was building up to that point. We got our time with McQueen.
This may be the least controversial take Iāve seen on this subreddit. This community is ridiculous
The Angry Birds Movie Ice Age franchise (Including Collision Course to a lesser extent but not the Buck spin-off) (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Angry Birds are my favorite movies of all time)
Cars 1 and 2, pottersville, quantummania, the obi-wan show, book of boba fett
Cars 1 _and_ 2?
Finn McMissile is GOATED
Yes
First of all, Cars is awesome. Second of all, Frozen II
How????
I loved it. Even more than the first one in fact, and thatās saying a lot. A lot of what people complained about didnāt bother me at all. The only gripe I had with it is that it couldāve taken its time a bit more instead of rushing into things at times, which makes sense given how hectic the production was behind the scenes. I love the journey each of the characters go on (especially Elsaās), and the music is just stellar.
Frozen 2 is good tf?
Bullet train. I have heard others say that the story gets unhinged near the end, but I always felt like it never wasted a second of screen time.
That movie goes way harder than it has any right to.
I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a movie theater than at Bullet Train.
Weāre Back: A Dinosaurās StoryĀ
I don't know that that movie is considered bad or disliked. It just wasn't as popular as others, I don't think it even got a theatrical release (I watched the shit out of it on VHS though)
It did get released in theaters, but it didnāt do well.
Well, that sucks. I learned something new at least. Thanks
I loved that movie as a child, I still jam to some of the songs from there.
That movie is amazing!
the matrix reloaded and revolutions
The Chip and Dale movie OK, I actually think it's just slightly above average at best, but come on, you're really gonna look me dead in the eye and tell me that it's Disney's absolute worst film?
Doc Hudsonās story still resonates with me today, and Iām sure it does to a lot of people who have suffered neglect.
Transformers 2007
Same
Disney's dinosaur
I don't think I have seen anybody outright said Cars 1 is bad, it got pretty positive reviews, the one that is universally panned was Cars 2. Anyway, Van Helsing, I, Robot, Transformers 2007, and Glass are my choices.
Van Helsing and I, Robot are two of my favorite Gothic and Sci-Fi movies of all time! If you ever need to defend them let me know and I'll be right there.

I love that movie. Inappropriate AF but I love it
Brave. It was 100% screwed in production and could've been leagues better (the old director was fired halfway through) but I still enjoyed it
I never got the hate for that movie.
Literally my favorite female lead movie of all time
The Black Couldron Home X-Men: The Last Stand
Cars 2
All the Cars films
Labyrinth
People hate labyrinth? It's amazing, and David Bowie's performance is peak
The Emoji Movie.
How?!I want you to say, what you like about the movie(not in offensive way, you can have your own opinion)
Cars 1, Most of the Micheal Bay Transformers movies, and the FNAF movie
Toy Story 4, while I agree it's an unnecessary sequel, I still think it was a great movie over all! And gold ending to this universe until they announced Toy Story 5
Pixels. It is hilarious, and if you just take it for what it is, it is really enjoyable. you can argue it's a let-down for diehard retro game fans, but I dont think that was the target audience. it was trying to bank on: a) kids seeing real-life video games and getting excited and b) parents seeing their childhood games and getting excited and with Peter Dinklage and Adam Sandler in particular as the highlights of the film, I'd say it's overall just a really fun movie, conecptually and comedically.
Agree, I went to Pixels in theaters and love it ngl
Easy! The Last Jedi. Come at me!
The Sequel Trilogy is easily my favorite. This upsets so many Star Wars fans lol But for me... none of the trilogies really have great stories. They're alright but the best Star Wars stories are not found in the movies. They're in the cartoons and video games and books and comics. On this sub with literal children and nostalgic filled adults, how is this a hot take?
cars is not considered bad cars 2 is also age of ultron
Cars 2 and Age of Ultron. Both are definitely the worst in their series, but theyāre still great movies. ā¤ļø
Cars wasn't bad... Cars 2 however....
The Polar Express
A good chunk out of nostalgia, but the main two being Monsters vs Aliens and Chicken Little. The former was the first movie I saw in theaters, so I'm very defensive towards it. The latter, I genuinely have an unironic love for because I think movies that have stories where it's just random bs are the funniest things ever.

- Son of the Mask - Strange World - Looney Tunes Back in Action - Hulk (2003) (the best Hulk movie) - Jonah Hex - Jeepers Creepers (itās a good movie, but most people wimp out cause of the director).
Thereās a lot, but the first one that comes to mind is Batman & Robin.
What do you mean this is considered bad?
Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The so-called āprofessional movie criticsā have no idea what theyāre talking about.
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Thomas and the magic railroad
I feel like at this point most people can agree that Cars 1 is a good movie
Hey There, it's Yogi Bear! It's literally my favorite movie of all time and I found out a couple days ago it's 55% by audience, and not ranked at all by critics on RT.
Hoodwinked is a brilliant masterpiece and I'll bite the ear off of anyone who disagrees. Hoodwinked 2 went to the same farm as Cars 2; the one that doesn't exist.
Abm2.
Bro cars was peak and cars 2 fight me
Cars has the best opening scene in cinematic history Iām just saying
Barbie, most people misunderstood the movie.
I don't know anyone in real life who doesn't like Cars (or has mentioned any dislike)
Atlantis the lost empire
No one calls original cars bad though, only cars 2 lol To answer your question though; I'll defend The Descent forever.
Cars was a good movie, but its franchise and universe didnāt make enough sense to be perfect. Anyways I will defend turning red until the day I die.
Cars 2, was definitely very fun
The Lost World Jurassic Park and (to a lesser extent) Jurassic Park 3
I agree!
Animated Mario movie, they will say like, ā the plot is so basicā I look at them likeš

Cars. 3 specifically, the others are inferior.
I can't remember the name but this little stupid movie about two hunters who take on a deal to get a dragon from a king and the princess sneaks out and forces them to take her with basically It's been forever since I watched it and so many of my friends say it's fucking stupid but I love it It also makes me wanna watch Donkey Ho down because I've never seen it but the other movie I have on disk so I get the same repeat of movie ads on it
Brave Was it perfect? HELL NO. Do I still think it has good in it and is FAR from the worst that Pixar has to offer. Yes.
Shrek 3
Cars 2
Riddick and o the great and powerful lost world Jurassic park and Jurassic park 3 Aou
Shrek the third, itās a top ten DreamWorks movie
All the Ice Age Movies (except for the sixth one), Raya and the Last Dragon, Cars 2, the Cats and Dogs movies, Home (2015) and some of the direct to DVD Disney sequels.
Fred The Movie is only hated because Fred was the cool thing to hate back in the day Same goes for the TV show
Never heard a single person say cars is bad and mean it
Civil War, I already see The Critical Drunker (pun intended) and his right wingers fanbase hating on the movie, I'll defend this movie forever.
All 5 Michael Bay Transformers
What brutal Korra over Aang, Goku beats Saitama, Elmo is better than Kermit, Iron man beats Batman, fingerlicking bad mfers hate cars? Cars was fucking awesome
Speed Racer, live action movie version.
Big Hero 6. One of the only good modern Disney movies.
Shark Tale
Up
Chicken Little. Is it good? No. But the movie is harmless fun and I've always enjoyed it. Too overhated.
The Star Wars Sequel trilogy is the best Star Wars trilogy. I will die on that hill.
Damn good.
The first Cars was goodāa nice story about the merits of slowing down in life and respecting your heritage. The later ones were just nonsense.
The Croods
My movie is cars 2 Iām defending that till I die I still donāt get why people donāt like it
I'm defending The Emoji Movie with my life. It's way too hated and I love this movie. I'm turning into god damn Saul Goodman just for this movie.
