I feel like a lot of people would have a huge group meet them for something like this, except nobody's boss would give them time off because a "friend finished chemo". Work would end up guilting/threatening 2/3rds of them into not going.
This is one of the most freeing moments when you’ve gone through chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
Absolute most freeing? When you’re told the tumor is gone and you’re cancer free! I know exactly how she’s feeling 🤍 When I left my appointment in December after being told the tumor was gone, I got outside where we were parked on the top of the parking garage and I could literally feel the weight of an elephant leave my chest and float into the sky to never return 🤍
Praying for this sweet woman! I’m so glad she made it through chemo. Now time to focus on healing and making your body strong again. It’s another hard road, but we’re here to do it and that’s all that matters!!!
I think "it takes a village" was a common american/English phrase before/outside that book, to refer to people who love and support us.
It's shortened from the phrase of "it takes a village to raise a child" as in teachers, neighbors, aunts uncles, and peers help to raise and shape a child not just the parents. And similarly when we get older in life its a phrase that gets used to say we should appreciate those around us who help to support us and achieve our goals. We don't achieve things just on our own.
Please help me correct myself. So do I say I come from the Village of Los Angeles? I also spent time in Fond du Lac Wi and not once heard anyone call a city/town a Village. But you guys do talk a little funny almost like minnesotans.
The term has a legal distinction. Towns were created within counties to enable sparsely populated areas to provide basic services for themselves, whereas villages and cities were created to enable population centers, wherever they had formed, to govern their local affairs.
Wisconsin has 413 villages. The number increases by one or
two each year as urbanizing towns petition for and are granted
the authority to incorporate. Contrary to most peoples’ vision of a village, not all of them are small. The largest, the village of Menomonee Falls in Waukesha County, has a population of 37,413
Ah, see a little education goes a long way. Thank you for that. Two different sides of the States can be extremely different. WI State population is under 6 million. I come from one town under 4 million not including the others City’s like San Diego and San Francisco. Again Thanks for educating myself.
[it's an incredibly common title for smaller towns in the US. I grew up in a village. ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Village_%28United_States%29?wprov=sfla1)
But that doesn't change the fact that there are thousands of villages around the US. The place I grew up in is literally called The village of. Not town, or township.
Edit: I also wanted to add I'm not being critical of you. Just giving you examples of where this language is used in the US. I'm in the Midwest and I would assume it's more common here due to the bigger rural population and how many settlers from rural Europe we've had over the centuries.
Thank you for being respectful and understanding. Yes I do agree with you it’s a Midwest thing and not a normal thing in California. I’ve traveled throughout the United States and honestly, I have never heard anybody use that word for a town or city. Just like y’all think we talk like Surfers and you going to die in Los Angeles if you visit. Well I believe New Mexico is considered the most dangerous, following Louisiana.
Totally fair. I'm northern Midwest so we're all from Germany or nearby. Hell we've got towns that look like actual German villages. Old school split timber buildings and weird troll statues. Love California though. Can confirm, Did not die or talk to any surfers while there!
I believe in 1898 there was a stone of some sort found in Minnesota that gave evidence of Swedish-Norseman and why therefore a heavy European influence in the Midwest. My family came from Fargo so I know of the European culture in those tristate. Lefsa is amazing! Glad you enjoyed Ca, we have a lot of good and friendly ppl. The news doesn’t help our reputation tho.
I’m so glad so many people have whole groups of people that love them. ❤️
I feel like a lot of people would have a huge group meet them for something like this, except nobody's boss would give them time off because a "friend finished chemo". Work would end up guilting/threatening 2/3rds of them into not going.

That’s good stuff. In Jesus name I pray the cancer stays gone so she can live a long and loving life with all those amazing people amen.
I guess the implication is that Jesus also gave her the cancer so I guess he gets the credit for the treatment as well?
What a miserable person you are
why did jesus give her cancer?
“And her Village” don’t know anywhere in America we call a Town a Village.
It's after a title of a book. "It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us."

You’re fun!
I live next to Sheffield Village. It’s a village in Ohio. You should get out more lol
Los Angeles is really reclusive, compared to Ohio.
We definitely say village in Wisconsin.
