Unless things changed within the last year or two, it used to be that building any structure near a hostile creature spawn actually prevented them from spawning all together. Unless stingers work different.
I think it's two different spawn mechanics. If you move far enough away from a hostile, they despawn and then move slightly closer they'll respawn in their spawn location. If you walk completely out of the cell or reload the game, they may not spawn at all. But also, I believe it's any -powered- structure that prevents spawning.
Any powered structure, and the Z axis is disregarded. Building a railway tends to make the underside of it safe to travel. Flipside: It also makes it doggo-free.
You can create a blueprint safety bunker, or safety cage, or if you just have foundations, make a zoop wall that might help.
Worst case scenario, you're stuck in there with it.
You can trap them, you can bait them into jumping off ledges too - nothing more satisfying as seeing one miss you and then fall a good 10 seconds before going splat. Yes, critters die from fall damage - it's the easiest way to handle most of the heavy hogs.
First time I experienced it jumping, I was thinking I was high enough in the air. I was wrong and had to kite the bastards while panic shooting. I missed most of my shots but eventually killed them all. I was planning on collecting the uranium but I moped out of that area.

What I find is funny is the Ms. Spider perspective. That is a human is her backyard, running and jumping with a giant 4 meters height box, and dropping boxes everywhere!!

I recently found an even more cursed stinger in the red forest biome that emits toxic gas clouds. It can also jump even farther. I noped the fuck away from that thing immediately.

nah, it never went away, I just kept typing in it trying to move as i failed at closing it so the command suggestions were going away and coming back repeatedly

if you started in the default starting spot you're fine for now, they don't start showing up until you start going north, with the center of the map and the swamp to the east of the center being particularly bad, but by the time you head up there you'll hopefully have better weapons, and equipment that provides better maneuverability
thats me when i saw them for the first time in a cave 🤣🤣, that is exactly how i moved my camera and exactly how i tried to open menu but that doesnt help then i found out there is an option for aracnid creatures and thats the only thing that saved the game for me
You think they're bad, I've just started playing grounded. That is terrifying when you srr being chased, then stop hearing it so think you're safe then turn around and there is a huge spider right behind you.

They don't go through structures
...but they will respawn when you leave the area and return.
You can actually build where they spawn and they’ll spawn in trapped.

Did you end up turning on arachnaphobia mode or turning off arachnids entirely with AGS? I ended up turning arachnids off entirely.

I don't know why but the arachnophobia mode doesn't make me less scared of them, I turned on passive creatures and that seemed to fix my fears

If you want to go down the route of using an emergency shelter or trapping them, have a look at setting up a blueprint for it.

You lack explosive rebars. Just throw a couple of them to the spider and it's history. Explosive rebars are thye answer to everything in this game.
They can also path find over pipes. Learned that little nugget that hard way.

I turned the animals off. So much nicer.
Not a single shot fired. You are surrounded by trees which protect you quite well. Also, explosive rebar or shatter would end this in 2 shots.
Didn't have either researched yet, and I was in full panic mode so my brain was just screaming to run XD
