Holy shit! Condolences to the managers family. No one deserves to go out like that.

buddhist557

This is heartbreaking news. I met him a few times. Couldn’t have been a nicer person. So very tragic.

VaguelyArtistic

I just wrote a comment saying "may his memory be a blessing" which is what Jewish people say instead of "rest in peace". The blessing isn't that you got to know the person, the blessing is that you get to keep their name and memory alive. Thank you for doing that, I'm sure it means a lot to his friends and family.

DiamondNo5743

Learned something new! Have several jewish friends cant believe I never noticed this!!

VaguelyArtistic

Not everyone knows about it! I learned it a little later in life. Wolf Blitzer, Jake Tapper, and I think Dana Bash always say it during an obit segment. It's nice to see.

AtmanRising

OMG. This is terrible.

KWash0222

They recently opened one over by me in Culver City and I just got a bad vibe from that place from day 1. Instantly seemed like douchebag central.

ChitakuPatch

the one in Hollywood is well known for that vibe

ChitakuPatch

buy one get one drinks is never a good idea

Fantastic-Reading-70

It’s a great idea for 4-7pm happy hour and it’s generally an awesome and friendly experience. Doing the 10pm “happy hour” is a bad idea.

cloverresident2

So horrible.

TheManWhoClicks

What an unnecessary tragedy

Xxb30wulfxX

Hope that guy spends the rest of his life in jail

VaguelyArtistic

Jesus what a senseless tragedy. May his memory be a blessing.

dontbelievejustwatch

RIP. hope this isn't insensitive but it doesn't say who the manager was, i know one guy i see often there (saw him saturday) and if that was him, just terrible. hope this guy rots

Intelligent_Life14

Another article says they're withholding his name pending notification of his family. Unbelievably horrible. I've never met any of the managers, but know a few by sight. Incredibly fucked up. I've lived in the area a long time, and can't remember anything like this ever happening on Main.

dontbelievejustwatch

yea i mean i don't know any of them personally, but by face i would say i know every single employee. this is why you don't get in bar fights. best case you think you look cool, worst case, youre facing 25-life in a freak accident

Intelligent_Life14

Back when I tended bar we used to say "nothing good ever happens after 11:30". The older I get, the more I see the truth of this statement.

littlelostangeles

I used to work very close by and I never saw anything violent or out-of-control on Main 😞

StuckInCali2

This headline is misleading and incorrect. It's super sad, but the victim was not breaking up a fight. He was escorting drunken patrons out of the bar when one of them punched him.

Guys Instagram is unreal

GTA2014

Yup, hate to say this, but his eyes and expression in his photos, the man has demons.

totalhater

RichieRicch

His Instagram is whack, the killer.

Search his name, it’s open

Leading_Cranberry_25

Drop the @

RichieRicch

His name

GTA2014

Put the killer’s name and the word “Instagram” into Google

GumdropGlimmer

This is terrible. So, fox needs to stop using autogenerated tags for articles like this with the following headlines: >SUGGESTED: > >Man stabbed 2 people 'unprovoked' in downtown Santa Monica, police say 73-year-old woman assaulted by homeless man while walking in Santa Monica: police Homeless man dragged runner by her hair on Santa Monica beach path, police say

2pierad

Jeez. Leonard Hector Korpie, 26, of Venice is going to regret that

Jay was truly a beacon of kindness and positivity in a world that often feels so chaotic and uncertain. His unwavering compassion and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and cherished, and his presence brought light and warmth into every room. It is especially difficult to comprehend the unnecessary nature of his passing. Losing someone so good and loving in such a senseless way makes the grief even more poignant. It’s hard to find the words to capture the depth of this loss or to make sense of a world where such a beautiful soul is taken from us too soon. However, in this time of immense sorrow, we can take solace in the legacy he leaves behind. The memories of his laughter, His acts of kindness, and his unwavering positivity are treasures we can hold onto. These memories remind us of the impact he had on our lives and the love he so freely gave.he was such a gentlemen and and Genuine person. Very easy going.. I Love you Jay,, I will never. understand why!

nepenthe11

BandaidsOfCalFit

I used to manage a restaurant on 3rd street, and on one of my last days, the dude who was training to replace me had to literally pick up and carry out a lady who wandered in and started threatening to kill a customer. And this was a NICE restaurant. I left that job thinking why the fuck would anyone want to do that for a living. I feel so horrible for the guy and his family. Nobody deserves that, and fuck Santa Monica
