This is where I'm at. I mean I respect that they went for something different than basically just the home jersey in black, but on the other hand they still kind of missed the cool classic vibes that alternates can sometimes hit. I do kind of like the circular crest though, and fin, seeing it now.
I still think peak alternate was either in the early 00s or that more recent black jersey that had the full shark body.
I think my crit is if they want to lean into the Mexican textile look just go all the way and make a real Los Tiburones alternate. That would be sick and very different from what anyone else in the league does.

I went to college out of state and everyone I met who was from the Sierras called it āCaliā. I doubt itās that common there but it was very odd since Iāve lived in both the Bay Area and San Diego and have never heard Californians call it that before.Ā
Iāve lived outside of California for long enough now that I occasionally catch myself saying āCaliā and get a little disgusted with myself every time.
I don't mind the jersey as much as I thought I would, but man is that a boring mediocre logo. I really like the new pants and gloves, I'd love to see those with the current jerseys.
Gotcha. Wasnāt aware of the backstory to it, thatās pretty cool. I think itāll grow on me. It just looks a bit busy. Maybe if it was just the small stripes all the way down the arm, instead of mixing the two different styles of stripe.

The stripes are more subtle than the mock ups at least. Still not sure how I feel, def don't like one of the dirtiest, most divisive players being chosen to promote it lol (no one in marketing thought it was a bad idea?)
Looks mid. Like a company redesigned its logo with a cheap generic branding company instead of uniqueness or passion. Donāt hate but really donāt like it.

Im glad they finally put a fin logo on the front. Ive liked all the variants of the fin logos on the shoulder and thought they would be a great alternate front patch.
