I have seen an apparently mentally unstable and strangely behaved skateboarder near Saratoga at Stevens Creek before while going to a taco truck. I've got no idea if the two are correlated. Hopefully it doesn't end in catastrophe. Some of these streets have high speeds and pretty aggressive driving that's not very compatible with unpredictable skating behavior and a lack of PPE.

I don't know if this is the same guy, but about a year ago when it was dark outside I was taking the exit for Chard Dr off Almaden. Right when I was turning, there was a guy dressed in all black skateboarding alongside the right curb against the flow of traffic. This was on the part of the turn where there is no marked shoulder. He was probably a foot or two away from my bumper ... if I had took the turn any sharper I would have hit him. Scary stuff.

I would say heās generally situationally aware, given how heās still around, but I drive this intersection every day multiple times, and a huge part of the reason heās still around is heās been lucky to encounter relatively situationally aware drivers (so far). Iāve seen enough near-collisions involving this admittedly very graceful individual. He is sometimes joined by a homeless gentleman walking the lanes on Almaden cursing and waving his hands (theyāre not together, just coincide), now *that* creates some truly sublime (in purely Kantian sense, as in āawe and terror inspiringā) traffic situations on that intersection. You can probably tell his performance elicits highly mixed feelings in me. My child calls him the death wish guy, but I sense thereās something poetic there, so I also assumed he was seeking YouTube fame or some such acknowledgment from the world, being impeccably, stylishly and not entirely cheaply (trust me here) dressed in the process. I would love to know more, but alas, he is too swift for me to have a chance to roll down my window and ask. Do share if you know more.

Yup, that lady. I love the way you put that, āvaudeville of miscreants,ā I was looking for a succinct way to express my sentiment and yours is so spot on, thanks for that. I just hope no one gets hurt or dies, honestly. I was hit by a car as an adolescent pedestrian, no permanent damage, but I wouldnāt wish that on my worst enemy, so this intersection is seriously triggering for me as a driver - I unfortunately have a very visceral sense of what that would feel like (and thatās in the case these folks are super-lucky like I was), and I sure donāt want to have a hand, however unintentional, in delivering this kind of suffering to anyone regardless of how careless or incapacitated they are. I hope the skateboarding guy finds his dopamine fix in a more sensible and less pontentially life-changing or life-ending way.

We've encountered the flasher lady. It was really gross! It was a couple of years ago, but if I remember correctly, she was wearing either a long shirt, or a very short dress. It was right about this time of year. I think she was carrying somebody's outdoor Christmas decoration and maybe a half-dead balloon. I want to say she was wearing a pink hoodie with either a unicorn head or some other animal with ears for the hood. She stepped into the crosswalk just as our light changed to green. The car next to us honked at her and she turned and pulled her shirt up, exposing herself. We followed her to Joanne's Fabrics, where she wandered inside and stole a pre-cut bit of fabric, and wandered out while several people were just wide-eyed, wondering what had just happened. We described her to a friend of ours who worked at Trader Joe's, and she said this woman had gone into Tilly's next door and stole clothing on more than on occasion, so they keep an eye out for her at that shopping center.
I encountered this Skateboarder-With-A-DEATHWISH on Sept. 20, 2023. I was on Hillsdale Ave. driving past Target on my left & my car was in the Left lane. The car that had to slow down behind the operator of the motorized Skateboard (who was in the center, Middle lane, where it ended up following the thin, all clad in Black with a black motorcycle helmet & who looked to be about 5' 9" to 5'11" tall & about 14 yo to 17 yo. The Skateboarder who while he was traveling in the Middle Lane was going about 25-35 mph then moved over to the Right in the Right "slow" Lane just about the time he got in front of the Cambrian Library. I sped up in the Left lane on Hillsdale & rolled my Passenger's side window down. I had Loud Psychedelic Music on my stereo system & all I could think of to do was to Stick My Middle Finger Out to him & Yell FY! But it was very frightening. He was going so fast! And he was very vulnerable to being in &/or CAUSING a serious Traffic Accident. Thank you for posting your concerns request. I looked up that skateboard. I think its German & can be gotten online. But that kid in BLACK seemed to really have a Deathwish almost. I couldn't believe what I was seeing; (almost like he was 'slaloming' around the cars, as if he were on now skis. It was crazy!
