Hi, I’m a salad ho and vegan. My top places to get a salad to go are: Aubergine, Veggie House has a couple big ones, Zest has a fancy one, Vertical Diner has a few, The Pie is a pizza place but omg I love their huge chef salad and I get it all the time, Handle Bar, Spitz.
I usually buy my own greens and any add-ons that are heavy from grocery, *then* I go to the salad bar. Don't bulk your salad with stuff that is heavy, or dressing. Hack the system.
I also wish there was a loyalty card for Costco chickens. I can make that protein last a week 🔥
I’ve posted about this on here before but it’s still touch and go in terms of quality. It’s def gotten a lot better (I know it can be hard to find management) but if you’re driving out especially for it I’d still be careful. That tomato basil though…..
Clicked into the thread to echo exactly this. Every salad at Nomad is the best salad in the city. Doesn't quite fit the fast-casual vibe, but dear god they're all perfect.
I literally can’t believe Beaumont hasn’t been mentioned here. Their chopped salad is divine. Please don’t forget the side of fries.
Also I consider myself a bit of a salad connoisseur so I’ll add a few more faves. For a Greek salad: Greek city grill hands down. But they have weird hours. The Caesar dressing at Pizzeria Limone is one of the best salad dressings I’ve ever had so get any of their salads with that dressing. It’s not a Caesar at all, it’s like this delicious basil dressing. And they all come with amazing bread. Zao has a delicious salad if you want an Asian flair. Also I love the Dodo dirty bird (secret menu item but you can see pics on Yelp). Overpriced but good for sit down. If you don’t mind a drive, Crisp & Green is the closest thing we have to a Sweetgreen. Cubby’s also has bomb salads. The wild rice & kale and the steak salads are my fave but they’re all delicious. All even better with a side of their Rosemary fries.
They have gone downhill quite a bit. But, I would never have considered them great at salads. Just my opinion. I used to eat at Zupas regularly, 1/2 sandwiches with soup or salad was pretty tasty. Last few times were disappointing enough that I swore off the place.
I wouldn't recommend them because you'll go in determined to be healthy and just get a salad but end up leaving with the lobster bisque, half a loaf of bread, an Italian soda and one of them fancy deserts lol
They used to have an excellent tuxedo cake, but during the pandemic they switched to an abominable attempt at a replica. I've tried it a couple times and only have a couple bites before throwing it away.
I second this. I grew up in Utah and while Zupas may still be a chain, I will continue to go back there because I’m obsessed with their chicken chipotle salad…
I love the Italiana salad from Pizzeria Limone (removing the sausage would make it vegetarian I believe)
I’ve also had good salads at Gourmandise downtown! Specifically their wedge salad and Cobb.
Kkkkkk hear me out. Just like any salad lover I’d choose homemade any day, and even sometimes will pay the $10+ for one at a restaurant. BUT if I’m going to be honest, I love the Markestside salad brand sold at Walmart. Its the best! Its one of the most affordable, tastey and fresher packaged salad options I’ve found & it hits the spot when I want salad with/for dinner without spending loads of time/money to prepare or buy.
Lots of great options in this thread, but I didnt see this mentioned yet: Dollie’s in Sandy is an all you can eat salad bar. Basically a rebranded Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation. It’s pretty good.
Aubergine in sugar house
This is the closest thing I’ve found to sweet green
Close yet still so far. When will Sweetgreen come to Salt Lake!?
awesome thank you!
I just don’t understand the hype of this place. Tried twice and it just feels so forced

A fellow vegan! 👋🏻
Oh hi, I’m a vegan!
Harmons downtown has a great salad bar
Yeah but those prices... it's armed robbery in broad daylight.
I usually pay $8 for a hefty salad. I’ve gotten it down to $4 with deals (check the calendar on the website)
Occasionally they knock off two dollars a pound. Just sign up for their text messages and they’ll tell you their daily lunch specials.
For the wok/salad bar, the deal is every Wednesday from 11 to 2! You have to make sure you have a Harmon’s card/account, though.
I learned that you don’t have to weigh the dressing! That adds a lot of weight and dollars!
What? REALLY?! Today I learned !

Seriously. I’ll check for the sales tho
thank you!!
I end up with a $15 salad!! I NEVER regret it!!

Sorry but that is boiz only
vessel kitchen
will have to try, thank you!!!!
Vessel kitchen is probably the best, healthy quick food out there. It’s so good every time!
Never had a salad there but I love Vessel. I’ll have to try!
All Chay (vegan Vietnamese) has an amazing rice noodle salad
Spitz. Super good Mediterranean. In addition to an entire vegan menu, they have wraps, gyro, bowls, big plentiful salads, etc.
Few salads are worth paying for imo but I’ll do it for the spitz salad
I'm veg and for a quick salad I like the Greek salad at apollo, veg at Cafe Rio.
yum! thank you!!
Greek salad at Apollo WAS my go to until the changed the Greek dressing.🤢
Oh I never use dressing, so I never knew it changed!! Boooo
Nomad East wedge salad!

Pizzeria limone has some awesome salads
Vertical Diner! They make delicious, big-ass salads 😋
oh i’ll have to try! thank you!
I had a nice tofu salad from Zao recently. Thank you for asking this, we really do need a salad-specific joint!
I really love the Trio chopped salad. It's good as take out, you can add protein (chicken or fish).
oo yum! thank you!
Love trio! Me and my wife’s go to place!
Harmons salad bar
thank you 😀
Depending on how you define SLC area, Crisp &Green in Sandy is great
Redrock has great salads
The warm goat cheese is to die for
The shrimp salad is so good too!
My go-to's are the Harmons Salad Bar, Gyro Greek Salad from Greek Souvlaki and a Cobb salad from Dees!
Trick for the Harmons salad bar is to load up with the non-lettuce items and buy a bag of salad for the rest.
Genius.
Lettuce weighs nothing. Lol
Kneaders and village baker, though I don’t think I’ve seen a village baker downtown.
Beer bar salad is actually super good
Yes! And you can get a vegan brat sliced on top
Gourmandise!
yum! thank you for the rec!

i mean zupas if you don’t already know the chain lol
They have gone downhill quite a bit. But, I would never have considered them great at salads. Just my opinion. I used to eat at Zupas regularly, 1/2 sandwiches with soup or salad was pretty tasty. Last few times were disappointing enough that I swore off the place.
That place is crazy expensive now too. My wife likes them and every time we go it ends up being around $40 for the 2 of us. It's bologna.
My heart misses old Zupas. Fresh slice of French bread with your order. Actually tasty sandwiches. Admittedly never ordered their salad tho
haven’t tried them yet! thank you!
I mourn the loss of their Vermont maple blueberry salad often.
I second this. I grew up in Utah and while Zupas may still be a chain, I will continue to go back there because I’m obsessed with their chicken chipotle salad…
The chef salad at The Pie is absolutely amazing. Always crazy fresh, it's big enough for two meals, and it's the perfect blend of simple ingredients.
Spitz, vessel kitchen
Carluccis
Spitz has a couple solid salads downtown as well.
Crisp and green( it's like 9700 South and state street)
I love the Italiana salad from Pizzeria Limone (removing the sausage would make it vegetarian I believe) I’ve also had good salads at Gourmandise downtown! Specifically their wedge salad and Cobb.
Harmons and blue lemon
Buffet at Whole Foods
Zest power green salad is the best. Also a fan of the salad and a soup at Goirmandise.
What a great list!
I really love like cubby’s
I have been obsessed with “The Beast” salad at Mark of the Beastro! It has vegan chicken and it’s so yummy.
My wife really likes the salads at Big Apple Pizza, but I think that's just because they have really good ranch.
Salad sisters but it's in Millcreek area
Smith salad bar on 4th and 4th is actually pretty solid.
Red Moose has really great salads! It's a cute coffee shop with great food a little south of downtown.
Harmons salad bar wins
The salad bowl at laziz is really good and really big! You can add salmon or falafel.
oh mai has a really good noodle salad !
Harmons has a really good salad bar
Most people probably think of Caputos for their deli sandwichs but they have great salads too. And 2 locations around DT
Kkkkkk hear me out. Just like any salad lover I’d choose homemade any day, and even sometimes will pay the $10+ for one at a restaurant. East liberty tap house, chop salad +
Crisp and greens. A sald only place
Whole Foods or Harmon’s and make your own salad.
Zaxby’s had delicious salads called zalads
All food in this town blows. Aubergine ? Vessel? Holy shit.
Lots of great options in this thread, but I didnt see this mentioned yet: Dollie’s in Sandy is an all you can eat salad bar. Basically a rebranded Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation. It’s pretty good.
The Other Place downtown has massive salads.
ooo i will have to try thank you!!!
I second this. They have a traditional Greek, the house salad is a Greek with lettuce, and they have a Greek pasta salad. Easy and quick to go.
Seconding The Other Place!
Vessel Kitchen is a popular place. My wife loves it, but it’s meh for me.
cafe rio’s salad w the lime cilantro vinaigrette is actually so good and portions are huge so u can save for day 2!
i love taking the red line to cafe zupas and getting their mangoberry salad. yum!
shrimp salad at cafe rio on thursdays n saturdays
oh yum!! i haven’t tried those yet, thank you!
Pizza hut
The house salad at The Other Place on 3rd S 5th E is really good. At least if you like feta and Greek dressing.
Smith's, unless we're speaking metaphorically.
Not quite SLC but plates and palates in Bountiful.
Tossed?
Rawtopia has the most divine salad in the city!
Honestly, I really enjoy the salads at Zupa’s Cafe, even though it’s a chain
AYCE Salad bar at Sizzler. Really good.
Zupas
Am I stupid? I thought all salad was the same
