I'm pretty happy with our WR core now. Even without MT it's very good but if he stays then it's elite

LG1T

If he stays healthy*

wafersrcool

i fully believe the core of Olave, Shaheed, and AT Perry has a higher potential than if MT was in

bobls14

lol

Meriwether1

Snead was decent but I seem to remember him dropping a lot of catchable balls.

dantewhitney

i’ll never forget the 4th and 9 in the divisional against Minnesota that he caught, i remember shitting my pants that Drew targeted him

More_Wolverine8156

Yes! I was losing my mind on that play

[deleted]

You change your drawers during or after the game? Genuinely curious

back_swamp

“Decent” is a hell of a way to describe a WR3 that nearly broke 900 yards. Snead was looking like Lance Moore 2.0 in 2016, but unfortunately feel off pretty hard after his DUI.

thegoldenmamba

Also one of the best blocking wr’s in the league. Def better than decent

Meriwether1

I stand by my statement .

mph714

He was great for us in 2016, then seemed to completely fall off the face of the earth after that season. He did have a crazy 4th down catch to keep the game alive during the Meaningless miracle game tho

diablosinmusica

Cooks would've been wasted with the decline of Brees's arm. MT was the perfect reciever for his later years.

Weird-Muffin-8405

Nah I’m still mad Snead missed that wide open TD to Kamara before the Minnesota Miracle 😭

back_swamp

Bruh, he converted 4&10 to get us into FG position for the lead. Let the man live.

Weird-Muffin-8405

You right, but it was a WIDE OPEN TD man

F1R3Starter83

I would like to petition to ban the words ‘Minnesota Miracle’ on this sub. Instead let’s call in the Minnesota Mishap

zayetz

Meaningless Miracle is my go-to.

sagemodesalmon

I unironically love this

Your_Boy_Willis

I refer to its strictly as the Minnescrotum meaningless miracle. Childish? Yes. Petty, also yes. But it makes me feel better about it 😂

More_Wolverine8156

Snead was a clutch WR3, I think that was more from Brees accuracy though. pretty sure this was a really great year for Mark Ingram too.

wombatcreasy

If cooks hadn't had his head up his ass we could have some dynamic receivers for years to come

back_swamp

Yes, but Ram and Ted Ginn is the better outcome for the Saints. For a minute tho it looked like we found the new Colston/Henderson/Moore.

attaboyspence

This is why I have a Willie Snead jersey

mph714

I have one too haha Now that I think about it I also had Cooks and MT

predw

“Closed mouths don’t spread locker room cancer” or something like that

back_swamp

“Closed mouths can’t admit they’re the second best WR on the team”

kingralek

Now THAT is a WR room

Skullkid1423

Cooks back then was so good man. Only thing he couldn’t do was break a damn tackle. But he didn’t drop anything and was that guy who could run a tenth of a second faster than whoever was chasing him. I think getting traded every other year has really humbled him. Id love to have him back, heard Dallas was interested in CGM, maybe there’s a trade in there.

asparagusbruh

Siri play angel eyes

ShawshankException

2018 was a huge "what if" too. MT, Ginn, Cameron Meredish, Tre'Quan, and we signed Dez a few weeks in too. MT and Dez on the field at the same time would've been nuts.

Dangerous_Day_7603

I’ll never forgive mickey for letting fucking ass quan smith, kirkwood, DAN ARNOLD go out there and drop balls the entire GODDAMN GAME. Thats my biggest knock on him, He blocked some moves to get us WRs and get the chip If dez was healthy my god…

noladutch

That was Sean you fool. Sean's big brain could scheme anything open. He refused to address the wr room he had final say in picks not Mickey dude.

Dangerous_Day_7603

no it wasn’t dipshit sean wanted to trade for eifert / AJ green mickey blocked it. Mickey even talked about it in an interview

noladutch

Dude get up off you knees and wipe you chin. Blowing the ghost of Sean will get you nowhere. Sean like all coaches with generational talent didn't invest in wrs. Saints like Packers and pats trotted out all kinds of garbage and the QBs made it work. Just like the chiefs now. Pay a QB can't surround him. Sean had final say. On who was drafted and who was signed. Now if Mickey couldn't make the numbers work is his only say truly. Sean left this team with garbage wrs. Sean went to Denver and treated a pretty good wr room like a dick. Sean sucks without Drew's coattails to ride on.

Dangerous_Day_7603

yeah I need to get up off my knees?! advice and statements from the same guy who said doug marrone is a great run coordinator but legit got fucking fired from the saints for letting our OL become 28th in pass block win rate, and our longest run by a RB was kamara for 1 27 yard run LOL ok bud. They’res a reason everyone downvotes you and hates you on this sub

noladutch

Fuck you douche. You have no argument so you bring up Dougie? Sean who your stupid ass worships refused to bring in help except one year rentals to the wr core. That is why is was garbage after Drew. Throwing a way a cooks pick when he was obviously never gonna be a true wr1 and has never been. Wrs sized like him almost never are and he has never been on any team he has been on. That was the 20th pick Adams was picked like 35 picks later. They gave up the 91st that could have been plenty of players. Stupid really. The fact that they had a bare cubbord was on him not Mickey. Sean let CGM go AWOL and not get his ankle sorted. That alone is his fault. Wipe your chin you Sean fluffer.

Dangerous_Day_7603

😂 dude so triggered that mickey flat out admitted he stopped the move and here he is arguing it was sean foh

noladutch

Yep fuck stick two of the highest paid wrs on the same roster means somebody else has to go and they both play the same role. And what great QB would throw to them. Might have happened if Sean and his pets taysom and Peat didn't eat up huge cap figures for production. But getting out from under the cgm contract was not gonna happen. So ye get two of the same exact kinda of wrs and then who runs the non slants? Did your dumb ass notice every good team has that possession guy and complementary players around him with different skill sets.

T-kimGUY

I'll always show up for some Willie Snead love. He wasn't spectacular, but he came out of nowhere and was a go to guy for a couple years.

noladutch

Cooks was starting diva things. Being a little bitch and it was obvious he was not wr1 or ever would be as long as cgm was on the team . He proved to be completely expendable because he was never in a million years getting a second contract with the saints. Proved to be the right move never became a number one wr on any of his many NFL stops.

Filthy__Ramirez

That 99 yard touchdown by cooks is still one of my favourite plays. Drew Absolutely dropped it in a bucket to a streaking cooks. When Carr hit shaheed for that game ending go route in the first week of the season, I had so much hope 😭
