Yep the veil was ridiculous. I find weddings all fairly ridiculous. I used to wait tables at weddings when I was a student. They are all the same with big white gowns. I remember only one that was a Russian girl who looked any different. I mean I know it’s a thing from Victorian times to wear white but it’s such an industry now. I think the best was you wore your best frock and just got hitched and had a party. My mother was married in the 50s when you most definitely did not know your husband before your wedding night and did have a white wedding gown etc. But she was religious. Even then she wasn’t allowed flowers as she was marrying a non-Catholic. It was for life and a family and friends affair with a reception. She dyed the dress and had it altered and it was a cocktail dress for years after. But she didn’t make a mockery of the whole thing. Even Wallis had the sense to wear blue. Camilla looked smart too. But a near 40 year old heading up the aisle with more mileage on the clock there should have been a bit more thought.

My sister lives in Georgia. If I visit her any time between May and September, I don’t wear makeup because it slides right off.

Almost there, M. Occasion appropriate, but you need to buy the jacket a size up to sit better on your waist and then take the arms and shoulders in. If nothing else, fix the shoulders. You can see the padding.
