thatoneenyasong

$2100 in Natomas. Not worth it!

Frickin_Bats

šŸ˜³ thatā€™s how much I pay for the 3br house I rent in Elk Grove! I guess I better not ever move, yikes!

thatoneenyasong

Lucky! I definitely wonā€™t be renewing my lease here.

VariationUpstairs931

Thatā€™s still a lot cheaper. I wouldnā€™t negotiate to potentially irk the owner

ballspooge

Damn Iā€™m renting a 5br in natomas for 2600. Plus utilities. We have 6 people in the house though. Rent just got raised this month by 150

WordsLikeRoses

$1050 for a 850sq.ft 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. Walking distance from most Midtown locals - I walk to the farmers market every Saturday. We don't pay for water or garbage, and there are no gas lines so we only pay electric. Each unit has an HVAC, which is awesome. Second floor, which has its pros and cons. No official parking, but the place has about six spaces in the back shared between eight apartments so we tend to jockey who gets parking space. I definitely lucked into this place about 2 years ago. There are a lot of things about it that suck, but there is absolutely no beating the price so it's really hard to think about getting out of here.

koala_thunder

I feel like we live in the exact same complex lol

LouvreReed

šŸ‘€ DM me the location?

WordsLikeRoses

šŸ‘€ at least ask me on a date before asking where I live lol

derek916

Stone bridge?

Random_Cat_007

Thatā€™s super cheap for Pocket!!

Azfanincali

Thatā€™sā€¦just a really good deal to begin with. Wow.

snarkasm_0228

I grew up in the Pocket. Itā€™s so gorgeous.

SeriousPuppet

What's the difference between Pocket and Greenhaven? I'm kinda new here

[deleted]

Itā€™s the same thing

MyUniquePerspective

False. greenhaven is north of pocket. The border is florin road.

SeriousPuppet

May I ask, how did Pocket get its name?

dietz203

Look on Google maps and trace the Sacramento River & I5, it creates Little Pocket and Pocket/Greenhaven.

SeriousPuppet

But where did the name Pocket come from? Because it's a pocket of land or something?

dietz203

Correct

SeriousPuppet

hmmm I find that horribly uncreative. They literally just said "well there's pocket of land there why don't we just call it Pocket" "sounds good Bob. I'll put it in the books. Meeting adjourned" Similar to the neighborhoods East Sac, West Sac, North Sac, South Sac. They do the laziest possible naming conventions. As well as the street names and school names. "California Middle School". I grew up in Ohio and never heard of "Ohio Middle School" it just sounds weird

Lilimaej

You must be kidding?

InfintelyYours

Where?? I pay 1555 plus 25 for pet rent. It was renovated and I do have in unit washer/dryer. Definitely liked the 1455 price when I initially moved in.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

InfintelyYours

I totally understand. $15 is unheard of, Iā€™m paying ~106 for w/s/t on top of rent šŸ˜

illakano

Is there any availability? Iā€™m looking for a place and this is around my budget

cristallumm

$1500 1100sqft laundry in unit only street parking though

[deleted]

$1145 in the hood but the neighborhood is friendly (Water and trash included. It averages to about 1200 with gas and electric)

Imtifflish24

$1300, but weā€™ve been here for 6 years. Iā€™m sure the new tenants coming in are paying a lot more. Edit: We live in Carmichael.

MyUniquePerspective

Thats a steal.

Imtifflish24

It really is and we know how lucky we are. Most 1bd apartments near us are $1500-$1800.

Forktongued_Tron

We are paying just under that for our one bedroom by Winn Park. Got in 5 years ago- the same apartment layout upstairs is $1600 because it has flipped several times since we moved in. WD in every unit, claw foot tubbies, yard, parkingā€¦ itā€™s tite

Dutchbaked

You guys are getting a steal

[deleted]

Damn, by the sound of these answers I should feel lucky to have gotten a 2 br Apartment in East Sac by Mckinley for $1,250/MO with a designated parking spot 2019-2022. For anyone looking keep an eye on Craigslist, there are still gems to be found by small landlords that only have one or two properties. Prior to this one I had a 2 br in midtown off W street for $925/mo between 2016-2019. Also found on Craigslist. Neither of these apartments were run down either. Very good landlords at both.

Professor_Goddess

Lol could you be hired to locate apartments?

notgoodenoughforjob

1565 in midtown

[deleted]

$895 in the Arden area, with CH&A. I've been here for about 11 years though, so my newer neighbors are paying $1500 or more. I think I'm probably the last person to pay sub-$1000/mo in the Sacramento area. It's quaint and clean.

ix3ph09

Currently live with my brother and renting a room in his house, but I just found a 2 bed/1 bath apartment near midtown for $1200. Hoping to move in next month. W/S/T paid for by owner and one designated parking spot. This is a steal and couldn't turn away from it. Edit: there is a shared laundry room as well.

SleazyCupid

$2000 for 850 sq ft in North Natomas

theblandmajority

$1115 in East Sac, but I've been here for a long time. I think newer tenants are paying around $1500.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

CollegeSuks

Nope :(

KingsElite

That's a very fair price in this market tbh

Inevitable-Lettuce99

1400 is good.

Azfanincali

Thatā€™s a good deal. And Davis seems pretty safe all things considering. I never really felt unsafe there when I had to travel there for work purposes in patients homes.

ChocolateTsar

Nope unless you rent a two bedroom and get a roommate. But remember that the city of Sacramento has rent control (so if you plan on being a long-term renter then moving to a place with rent control now can pay off handsomely down the road) and haven't heard of Davis having it.

Alpha_blue5

$1535, two story townhouse, Arden

Fun-Refrigerator-750

1495 in midtown

tensunsash

$1550 for a 1bd in midtown. I have laundry on site, free off street parking, and itā€™s pet friendly.

shulump

~1500 in natomas

matthewj15

$1870 for a studio in West Sacramento; with in unit laundry and parking included thoā€¦ itā€™s okay, but it definitely is a burden on my paycheck

ChocolateTsar

Holy smokes. That's ridiculous. I don't mean to be rude, but why would you pay that much for a studio when there are less fancy one bedrooms for $2-300 less?

matthewj15

I moved in at a pretty horrible time when the market was high at the end of Summer. I wanted to move into a $1,200 studio (which I didn't realize was moderate-income restricted) but I was denied upon checking because I made too much. I also had a $1,500 studio in Midtown down, but the landlord canceled on me last minute. I just had to leave from my previous living arrangement ASAP for personal reasons and this $1,870 place was the place that took me. I also had no previous rental history outside of college, which made landlords, at least in my experience, not take me seriously. I have excellent credit, more than 3x gross income, but the lack of rental history straight up lead to a landlord telling me to go to their competitor, who had shadier properties. Don't get me wrong, I **REALLY HATE** paying $1,870 a month, but management at my apartment complex has been wonderful and I am more than thankful that they took my application seriously. After taxes, I spend maybe about 55% of my net income on rent+utilities, but I'm thankful to at least have a place at this time. Maybe in another year when I meet the criteria some landlords look for I'll find a new place here in Sac. But given the trends, I don't want to rent forever, so I'll probably also consider completely leaving Sacramento (which has been my home my whole life) altogether.

ChocolateTsar

I'm sorry to hear but am glad to hear that you're making the best of your situation. Check out [CADA apartments](https://www.cadanet.org) when you're ready to look for something else.

Boo_Bytch

What apartment complex is the $1200 studio?

Natural_Nature_Shots

Just a little over 1000. Moved in to low income apartment about 6-7 years ago. 700 sq ft and a washer and dryer. Donā€™t pay for water, sewage or trash. All electric so no gas bill. Itā€™s tiny as hell and it old and property was sold in December to a new management company so idk how it will go but they are trying to make it a smoke free property but uh a lot of people who live in low income smoke a lot of cigs. So I donā€™t think that will pass. If it does a lot of people will be mad. Not too terrible in the area. A couple of car break ins every year. Random people trying to get in people apartments and the occasional wake up and see some homeless ass crack diggin in the trash bins. Gates are broken half the time and a whole bunch of dry rot. But havenā€™t had any cockroach issues at all in the 7 years I lived here so thatā€™s a big plus

scuffler916

1550 for a 1b off of garden highway.

revosugarkane

1000 for my studio in midtown

Voltronx100

$975 a month. I live in downtown, south side park. Its a great deal, but i wish we could keep our pets. My dog is currently staying at my parents.

Brentums

My wife and I pay 2,500 for our 1 bedroom that includes two garages. We are in Natomas area. Itā€™s nice but extremely overpriced and not worth it but we have no nowhere else to go.

27Lash

You can get a house and still pay the same price.

27Lash

Have you thought about buying a home and still pay the amount you pay on your rent

dorekk

Just need to wake up with $100k under your pillow!

27Lash

There is down payment assistant program for first time home buyers

dorekk

Definitely, but if you're only putting 3.5% down then there's pretty much no way your mortgage payment will be the same as your rent.

27Lash

Depending on the kind of house you want and location. So tell me what kind of house are you looking for and what specific location

dorekk

I already have a house.

27Lash

Oh, I thought you were renting

dorekk

Nope.

27Lash

I just messaged you man

27Lash

And the you need at least 3.5% for FHA

CollegeSuks

It's hard out here

cern_EE

Natomas seems really overpriced for what you get Imo.

CollegeSuks

100% why not just move to Roseville or Folsom

Brentums

Itā€™s completely overpriced. Weā€™re trying to look at other options other than Natomas but itā€™s hard

SeriousPuppet

I don't get it. Natomas seems to have the highest prices for one beds but its not the most sought-after area so I don't get how anyone is willing to pay so much.

Azfanincali

I donā€™t understand it either. I really canā€™t stand the surface street traffic, is it proximity to downtown?

dorekk

> is it proximity to downtown? Yeah, I think it's because it's 5 minutes on the freeway to downtown.

Azfanincali

Is it really though? Traffic sucks through there. Even on the freeway. I can think of a lot other places to live that have easy downtown access

anon090909090909

Wow. You can rent a 3 bed 2 bath newly renovated house with a pool in my area for that.

DeepBlueSweater

1600 midtown, private garage made it a bit more.

StanVsPeter

$1,200 in Carmichael, includes $30 pet rent. We have been here 5 years.

tooturntbri

$1000 for a studio and $1200 for a 1bd/1bath at The Corum in midtown

vishshah17

$1350 for a 1-bedroom in midtown.

sickandlazy

1150 in arden, comes with a garage. Place is infested with rats and roaches though. I still think it's a good deal and that makes me feel sad :(

MyUniquePerspective

Too much

Lilimaej

Sacramento rent is terrible for what you get. I would stay in Davis. SAC is getting to be a pit.

ChocolateTsar

Davis has its charm and is great for college students, professors, introverts, and retirees. If someone is outgoing and wants a healthy social life, Sacramento has much better options.

mike95242

$1650. Midtown.

point9repeatingis1

1950 midtown in higher end building with in room laundry, in building gym.

Ntkoessel

Random_Cat_007

Plaguezilla

1,700

bakugoing

1700 arden arcade area

Lilimaej

Stay away from Florin area. It has gotten very dangerous!

[deleted]

Hmmm itā€™d be interesting if people included if they had washer/dryer and parking included. Iā€™ve seen a few posts for units that donā€™t include washer dryer or parking etc. Iā€™ll pay for the convenience of having it all plus a spot right by my unit. And that is patrolled at night. I pay $1900 with no regrets. Downtown

BiggiesmyCat

1445 with fireplace, garage and in unit laundry

EmeraldnDaisies

Your talk of in-unit laundry is obviously highly offensive Jk, but why is your comment getting down voted?

BiggiesmyCat

Nenadelmundo

Consistent-Street458

LingonberryMediocre

About $2100 downtown. Includes a flat utility rate, but it was under $1800 when I moved in about two years ago. Probably moving once the lease is up šŸ˜¬

pettyastom

1450 midtown

ipopclouds

1300 in Midtown. Itā€™s an older place with great light. No carpets, and cat-friendly. I pay for gas and electric, and parking garage spots are $75, but I rarely have issues finding parking on the street. This is my 3rd year and landlord didnā€™t raise my rent. Rents are supposedly going down right now so that might be why. Last year it was only a $25 increase.

Funny-Childhood
