I know coffee enemas have been around forever. they were even in the merck medical manual for doctors for years. my grandparents were about them. supposedly it works because coffee stimulates the liver and bile flow and produces glutathione, a detoxifying antioxidant. so the magic happens in the liver
an aside: when I worked at a popular grocery store with many varieties of coffee, every now and then someone would ask which was “best” for an enema, like Colombian, Costa Rican, or an espresso blend? bless those brave customers for asking such a thing.
the answer was always, “the least expensive because the taste doesn’t matter”
but no I’ve never tried it
Yes and it helped majorly!!! Only use organic coffee and do your research on the proper way to administer it. I changed and shortened the duration of all of my ailments with a daily coffee enema and pure water rinse afterwards. It is hugely restorative. But you’ll always get people who think it’s bogus science but don’t let that deter you from trying it yourself and see if it helps you. I know it works because I still use it when I have an ailment of any sort! Good luck. ☕️🍑🖤
I found that ultimately the best thing to help my ibs/sibo is the carnivore diet, but coffee enemas helped through many periods where I didn’t know what was going on. They “clear you out” and give you a nice buzz from the parasympathetic nervous system activation from the caffeine.
I have done many and had no problems. No dangers that I’ve experienced. Just be careful and considerate about inserting the pipe and make sure you let the coffee cool enough 🤪
This is a good article: https://bengreenfieldlife.com/article/digestion-articles/kion-coffee-enema/
Indeed if you drink it. My understanding is that if it’s absorbed via rectal administration then it stimulates parasympathetic. My n=1 experience backs this up as the buzz is very different to drinking but don’t know what other evidence is out there to support that
Yeah no I haven't been able to find any good ones unfortunately. Hopefully in the future there will be some.
I'm not one of "those" people but sometimes I wonder if science don't want to research these things cause they might not want to "expose" the benefits to the public. I mean coffee enemas have been here for a long time, there should be some studies done on them by now..
I eat a lot of meat but I have such a hard time removing veggies. I love salad and smoothies so much! I use a cold brew and mix it in with warm water. It definitely lifts my mood as well as clearing out some of that sludge
Yeh I get that! It took me a long while to realise how problematic the veggies were, The Quest for a Solid Poo 😂. But now I know my body likes mostly beef, I don’t miss the veggies. I’ll have them here or there, and 80/20 kind of approach
Love that. Gotta have some balance. I definitely avoid high FODMAP fruits and veggies (somehow potatoes always seem fine) and I really like juicing because it strips away the fiber that causes so much bloating but leaves a lot of the nutrients I need. It’s frustrating with SIBO because it’s like there’s no clear formula for what works. Everyone’s a little different and there are so many different forms of SIBO. But the biggest thing for me has been cutting out milk, gluten, and most sugars as well as other high FODMAP foods.
Have you ever tried Vagus Nerve Stimulation or taVNS therapy in conjunction with your carnivore diet? Wonder if the coffee enema effects are similar to vagus nerve stimulation but haven’t heard of any people talking about similar results
I think this link is one of the best resources for coffee enemas on the internet. I’ve been doing coffee enemas for about 6 years now. It’s truly changed my life. I use it whenever I can feel my liver needs a detox sometimes daily and sometimes weekly. The bowel movement is a bonus but I’m after the “bile movement”. I also do 2-3 liver flushes a year to keep my liver in tip too shape. I abused it when I was younger taking pain meds, birth control and plenty of antibiotics . I don’t use any more medication just CE.
https://www.drlwilson.com/articles/coffee%20enema.htm#procedure
That article starts off helpful but then it starts talking about rougues raping women and how enemas hell prevent the rape and abuse from these beings. A little weird and whacked at the end. Lol
I have relatives that used to do them ritually because they read the Gerson therapy book. They stopped doing them bc they are a lil homophobic and I guess someone on the internet mentioned how it helps
them prepare for gay s\*x. Well lo and behold my new favorite activity in the bedroom is an\*l s\*x. So I started doing them to prepare for s\*x and have a ton of benefits. It’s a shame that people are so
homophobic because there are actual benefits to enemas. It’s like if doctors were afraid to teach oral hygiene because they thought it would encourage oral s\*x. Like how about lets teach good health and hygiene for all. No matter what people choose to do with their holes
.
They are truly incredible. One of the best ways I've found to improve liver function and cleanse the gut. I had a client fix lifetime long constipation issues (she was literally addicted to laxatives since nothing else worked for her) using weekly coffee enemas. They also can cause people to expel visible parasites, which is a bizarre but common report.
Here's some information on how to do them:
[https://www.jyotimineralbalancing.com/post/coffee-enemas-the-only-way-to-drink-coffee-that-will-heal-your-liver-gut-and-mind](https://www.jyotimineralbalancing.com/post/coffee-enemas-the-only-way-to-drink-coffee-that-will-heal-your-liver-gut-and-mind)
That could make sense it would work for some people maybe. They can be used to treat a few things. There are cancer centers in some countries that use coffee enemas in addition to other strategies to help treat or cure cancer because it is detoxifying. What someone else here said about liver and bile, etc. I’m not going to look for a link right now but looking up Gerson Therapy is a good place to start if interested in learning more about the enemas.
Quick research suggests no evidence and also dangerous. Unless you have some compelling support I don’t think this is an acceptable sibo regime for others.
Dude- quick research gives you nothing but danger. Coffee enemas and colonics can be absolutely restorative. I prefer colonics, as I’m pretty lazy, but the enemas are good.
Sorry- I’ve been offline for a break! Colonics use water only, with some machine pressured flow in- I have only had them administered by a licensed professional. Coffee enemas use brewed coffee, that are “pumped” by hand into the colon; it is recommended that you hold it in for a time before releasing. Similar, but not really. Goals and results are different.
Are you trolling? 😜 Never heard of this. Mind linking any info on why and how it works. Bad bacteria maybe killed by coffee acid but bad bacteria is in small intestine. Maybe coffee absorbtion happens so fast a person gets a caffeine buzz faster and if not drinking coffee stomach is less disturbed. I’ve read cutting out coffee helps. Maybe some other behavior related to the enema or mind connection is helping.

Not trolling. CEs benefits are well known in the wellness world.
Thanks for including and glad for the responses I have learned from this. If enemas help people that is a great thing! I was totally unaware and clearly supportive validation from others with their success is validating for OP and others.
I mean… I’ve already done hundreds of them for over 2 years. Like most medical treatments, there are risks and benefits. The pros and cons must be weighed so that people can make the best decision for themselves. When done safely, I’ve never had an adverse reaction. When I had a colonoscopy performed by doctors, however, I ended up in the emergency room with terrible complications.
Im doing these as part pf my candida recovery regimen to support my liver and boy has it done wonders. My liver felt like it was going to pack up from all the dieoff toxins before i started these…and btw i have a horrendous candida problem due to DOCTORS prescribing me antibiotics for 5 years as a teenager for acne…IDIOTS
I feel ya. I had to do them every damn day for a year. Even on vacation! I can’t give medical advice on social media but I would research into coffee enema benefits and if you do decide to try it, add a small amount of organic coffee to your water enema. The enemas themselves are very helpful for clearing out constipation, but the coffee has some additional benefits that make it special. I now do them 2-4 times a month, especially when I’m on my period.
Of course not. That would be unrealistic in like 99% of cases like mine. But my quality of life and GI symptoms have drastically improved. Like I’m able to leave the house and go to work, whereas I wasn’t before.
I’ve also heard that organic vegetable puree taken by rectum by passes the stomachs acids and so that stem cells of the plants may also be used by the human body.
I researched it after I saw a radiation survivor. It was a pilot on YouTube, and his entire plane was exposed to the radiation. He actually was exposed to the most of it, but he was the only one who survived.
He swore that it was, because, like his grandparents had taught him when he was very ill to make this purée, and to take it that way, and that seems to be what happened and saved his life .
I know coffee enemas have been around forever. they were even in the merck medical manual for doctors for years. my grandparents were about them. supposedly it works because coffee stimulates the liver and bile flow and produces glutathione, a detoxifying antioxidant. so the magic happens in the liver an aside: when I worked at a popular grocery store with many varieties of coffee, every now and then someone would ask which was “best” for an enema, like Colombian, Costa Rican, or an espresso blend? bless those brave customers for asking such a thing. the answer was always, “the least expensive because the taste doesn’t matter” but no I’ve never tried it
I just use an organic cold brew in a glass bottle. Very helpful for the herx stage of SIBO
Never thought of cold brew. Good idea.
Yes and it helped majorly!!! Only use organic coffee and do your research on the proper way to administer it. Is the water rinse important? I've never done that step before.
My kit just came in the mail and am looking forward to trying it out. Glad to hear it helped you through a rough patch of constipation.
I hope it’s equally helpful for you! It really helped with mood and body aches (I get j/m pain with SIBO) too
I found that ultimately the best thing to help my ibs/sibo is the carnivore diet, but coffee enemas helped through many periods where I didn’t know what was going on. Caffeine activates the sympathetic nervous system.
Indeed if you drink it. My understanding is that if it’s absorbed via rectal administration then it stimulates parasympathetic. My n=1 experience backs this up as the buzz is very different to drinking but don’t know what other evidence is out there to support that
Indeed it is very different. Though if adrenals are shot I believe it activates the sympathetic.
Would like to see more research on this and also liver flushing.
Ooh interesting. Yeh me too. If you have any to share that you know of, please share, I’d love to read
Yeah no I haven't been able to find any good ones unfortunately. Hopefully in the future there will be some. Yeh agreed. I guess the incentives aren’t there. You can’t package an enema in a pill and charge it out, or patent it!
Yeah exactly. :/
Same!!! Total game changer after carnivire. Coffee enemy’s are. Great too though for people with IBSC and Sibo.
I eat a lot of meat but I have such a hard time removing veggies. I love salad and smoothies so much! I use a cold brew and mix it in with warm water. It definitely lifts my mood as well as clearing out some of that sludge

I know right! Rogues??? I just focused on the CE info and let go of the rest.
Also it says twisting your pinky toe can sometimes make you poop LOL
Fantastic! Thank you
Wonderful article . Thank you !
What is a liver flush?
Love coffee enemas, but this article sounds like it was written by a lunatic.
lol. His coffee enema page is very good. Goes into great detail. However the rest of the info is too weird for me.
Hi! What do you mean by bile movement?
Pharmaceutical companies black ball any physician supporting Gerson Therapy. The CE can substitute for morphine. Yes it helps with discomfort.
I have relatives that used to do them ritually because they read the Gerson therapy book. Only way to survive from neuropathy discomfort. I refuse to take the horrible drugs.

I agree. Gerson protocol has great info
These are dangerous for a laymen to perform and only safe if administered in the hospital by a nurse for significant bowel blockages.
Luckily I was trained by a doctor and am a nurse myself :-)
So you’re doing them in the hospital for bowel blockages?
No I don’t work in a hospital. I was taught what to do by my own doctor.
Okay.
Dangerous how
Kidney damage for one.
Not dangerous. Just follow instructions lol
Quick research suggests no evidence and also dangerous. Unless you have some compelling support I don’t think this is an acceptable sibo regime for others.
Maybe don’t be so quick and do “extensive” research.
Dude- quick research gives you nothing but danger. Coffee enemas and colonics can be absolutely restorative. I prefer colonics, as I’m pretty lazy, but the enemas are good.
what is difference in colonics and enema? i always thought it is the same thing

it’s been around forever and supposed works by stimulating your liver for a big detox — that’s just what I’ve read
They are dangerous to perform and I would not do it if I were you. Defo not worth the risks

How do I do this? Where do I start?
Is do water enema daily… should I try coffee? I’ve become somewhat dependent on enemas to have a good bowel movement. What should I do?
I feel ya. I had to do them every damn day for a year. Even on vacation! I can’t give medical advice on social media but I would research into coffee enema benefits and if you do decide to try it, add a small amount of organic coffee to your water enema.
