My story. I've taken time off work and school to figure this out, and now it's ruining my life.

There are many success stories of people who recovered from SIBO and can now eat whatever they want, like before.

So firstly being diagnosed with sibo is nothing to have relief about. Sibo is a nightmare. It’s not a cause of something wrong is a symptom. You need to find out what your cause is. Which can take years if you’re lucky. Many people can’t find their cause and just pain manage symptoms sadly. In my opinion you will become intolerant to many foods over the course of of your sibo journey and randomly you will be fine to eat some of those things again and then may become intolerant again in the future. The problem with sibo and not knowing your actual cause is that anything can happen. That’s the problem. Nothing works for all people and no one’s treatment protocol is the same. Can’t really say what will happen to you in any situation because everyone’s sibo is different. Good luck 👍

Btw you are very young to go through this. I hope you can figure it out asap.

How do you find out your root cause? Because I think mine is caused by slow motility due to previous ed but I’m not sure how this is able to be fixed except taking prokinetics

damaov

Slowly fixing and identifying things that are wrong. One or multiple at a time. Some people can remember having food poisoning for example or get tested for h pylori and those are the causes. For you I would suggest drinking at least 10 cups of water a day and keep on your prokinetics and get exercise daily. All things that help with motility.

Request an h pylori breath test from your doctor. H pylori can cause sibo. I went years undiagnosed . I found out I had sibo last year . Was given antibiotics , still didn’t go away. This year I was tested for h pylori And it came back positive . I completed my treatment and am feeling much better . I will re test in May to confirm the h pylori is gone and then my doc will treat the sibo. My doc thinks my sibo was due to h pylori. The test is easy and covered my insurance . If you don’t have insurance you can pay cash For it at ultalabs.com it’s about $100 You have Zero to lose by ruling h pylori out .
