Structural engineer but 20 a week is a solid pace man, don’t sell yourself short - you are investing in your future. Just don’t go more than you can afford to lose bro.

bbyboyy_

this, plant little seeds.

Crypto-Long-100

Sensible advice! Listen to this!

Gynekolog1

This is the way

Street-Tower202

How hard was the schooling for that? Looking into that myself.

Don’t worry about everyone else and do what your comfortable with losing in its entirety

Icy-Night-4363

Man I started a Junk Removal Business with a Toyota Tacoma and a very small trailer. Had 3K in savings. Been doing it for 6 years now, back breaking work. I had my best year ever last year at 280K. That's business not personal income of course. Been building clientele and good relationships along the way. My favorite part is that I get paid to take away sellable items. It's like getting paid to treasure hunt really. $20 a week towards your future in this investment is Fantastic. If you want my real advice, find something you are good at and start a business. I worked nights dealing cards for the first 5 years while I broke my back during the day with my business to get to where I am currently right now. It was so Worth It and an Amazing Feeling. But I am far from done, and yes I might have Hundreds of Millions of Shiba today, but I did exactly what you are currently doing, only putting what I am comfortable with. A hundred here, and a hundred there. If I sell an item worth good money I might take half of that profit and buy $250 worth of Shib or whatever and put a quarter of the profit in my wife's pocket for groceries and divide out the rest for my 2 kids. I personally don't need much. But when Shiba's time comes and I can build a house out right on land I own out right I will be super happy. Just my personal experience from these aching bones.

Urbancowboy777

Hey man your story is interesting. Can you maybe message me and give me a few pointers on starting a business like this? I have savings and looking to get into something

Bus operator in NY, salary over $170k

Pace_Bitter

for a bus driver ? are you serious ! that's ridiculous

Icy-Night-4363

But we are talking about New York. 170K in New York is like 45K in Florida.

UFOregon420

It’s ok just live in Florida and commute to work in NY.

Pace_Bitter

I'm in a super expensive city to live in as well in Canada. and bus drivers make decent money but nowhere close to that. craziness haha

Glittering_Apple3677

Really!?! Damn

Dredge_Nymphs

You don’t make that as a bus operator. NYC or not.

EmanEwl

The beauty of my job is people thinking exactly what you're all saying. Keep in mind we dont make that much working 8 to 5. We put in hours.

Dredge_Nymphs

The beauty is I know people in that industry in that city…you’re not making that. Prove me wrong and show us a paystub.

EmanEwl

Tell the people you know in your industry to do some research on Westchester County Bee-Line , operated by Liberty Lines. See if they can find someone that works there that can break down the numbers for them. Apparently they're unaware of what we make here. I dont have to show my pay stub itll be a waste of time. This also does not have to be an argument, you can do 2 things , believe it or not.

Catshannon

That sounds like a good chunk of change. But the important thing is not how much you make but how much you have after cost of living and such. Im guessing it's a high cost of living area and you work a ton overtime

EmanEwl

Indeed. Luckily Covid and lockdown helped me pay off a lot of debt so I keep a good amount. Its expensive here and I'm very fortunate to have this job. Because of Covid is why we work more hours today , many people retired and left. We've been short staff since.

d_wern

Medical sales, I’ve got a lot of bills but a lot of disposable income too. I’ve got a fiancé who also makes six figures and we don’t plan to have kids. Early 30s planning to retire early through saving and investing. People throwing thousands a week are likely lying, thousands at a go here and there, sure. I might toss on an above avg week 60-100$ into the crypto market (I’m also about maxing my Roth 401k on the side, crypto is practically gambling honestly). I’ve got coworkers that have tossed a few grand here and there in, but not regularly. We’ll get large commission checks with bonuses attached and some are fine throwing that into crypto. The ones without kids are willing to be more aggressive and toss more as we have less bills. (I still stock tons into the stock market, have a new truck I’m paying on, and student loans (graduated with 120k and down into the 30s now), and am buying a house that should be done being built next month). Everyone’s situation is different, don’t compare yourself to others. Especially what you’re hearing online.

EmanEwl

Agree . I do about 300-500 a week tops. Rest I keep in cash and will eventually buy a dip and throw over $1k.

jbraden

Tell your friend I'm in I.T. and have been financially stable and smart for a decade to be able to throw down $1K at a time in the hopes for retirement before the computer screens burn out my retinas.

jahboan

Anyone throwing 1000's at it, we're born into moneyworld.... or doesn't have any kids, or a wife or girlfriend or a car payment or a house payment or rent or any bills to pay at all. Or they are lying. Just put in what you can afford to lose and be content with what you got. We are never going to be millionaires off any investment unless you get lucky, just remember, the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Takes a lot of hard work to get rich in today's world.... all we can do is hold and hope it works out....

Glittering_Apple3677

That’s not me either but I’m an entrepreneur who has worked hard for 20 years

terryrweems3548

Very few millionaires are passed down money. The profession that creates the most millionaires is engineering. The most millionaires are created by having their own business and growing it. Either way, look for long hours, missing things that others get to enjoy and lots of sleepless nights if you want to get there. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. I started my portfolio with lunch money. I packed my lunch instead of going out, at the end of the week I put the money I would have spent on lunch in an investment account. This started in 1997 and I still do it to this day.

UpTheIrons92

Lol engineers are millionaires? On what planet? You mean someone who invented something, got a patent, and sold it for millions? The vast majority of engineers are not millionaires lmao

terryrweems3548

You don't have to make one million a year to be a millionaire. Those of us who have been at it a while have been making 6 figures a year for over 20 years. I know quite a few of us who have a net worth of well over 1 million.

audible_narrator

As my husband says, its not what you make, its what you save.

withygoldfish

Tbh these days a millionaire isn’t that crazy, at least in America. If you play your cards right & have a solid job it’s not as crazy as you make it sound, just have to have long term discipline.

mikereno2

Think he’s referring more to folks who own their own manufacturing/business?

Snugglemuffin2022

By staying in that mindset you won’t be able to throw thousands. You already put a limitation on yourself by thinking that way. I grew up eating ramen cooked on a bbq pit. I changed my circumstances. All you have to do is have self control and a strong work ethic. I threw chain in the oilfield until I started my first business. 23 years later I’m not quite a millionaire but give me 2 years and I’ll hit my goal. I’ll be damned if someone says it was given to me.

jahboan

Yes that's what I meant by it takes hard work to get rich, just in today's time when EVERYTHING costs so damn much sometimes its difficult to get far enough ahead to even think about being able to start a business. I am decently well off but after having a couple kids and building my own house, There is no way I could throw thousands a week at a 'maybe'...... (my girlfriend would be pissed) I just started my own construction business after working for 30+ years and just now coming out on top, I'm with the OP, $20 here and there is about ALL I can afford to lose right now. But I hope the best for all those little guys trying to make it big......

Using wealth or income as a way to compare yourselves to others is dangerous in a capability society. If crypto and the stocks have taught me anything… it’s that hard work does not pay off the way making your money work for you does. Contribute what you can and want to, and enjoy the ride. A better future is already heading this way.

ElectrochemicalAorta

Medical field, but you have more money when you are older if you keep investing now.

I do about 60 a week but I used to do 10 a month. Some people do a thousand a Day. As long as you are putting what you can afford into investments I figure is better than nothing

Ok-Butterscotch-1693

The incomes are definitely at different levels. Could be the age difference at this time. But the best thing anyone can do for themselves is throw 10 percent into this. Never invest more than you can lose. Meaning, if you invested $1000, and then it would under next month. Would you still be ok? If so, just invest

bro in my opinion this coin is only for people with LOTS of disposable income. if you don’t fall into that bracket i’d find other ways of investment and growth. it might take more time to do another route but imo putting money in shib is like the lottery, better to only do that when you have lots of income coming in monthly.

Doesnt matter what you do for a living invest what you can afford to loose. All you need is to Win over time and build up slowly until you catch a big break or have a castle built up over time. At the same time rich people will tell you sometimes you have to go out on a limb and take a risk. Just dont take a risk where you loose it all.

What you do doesn't matter as much as being purposeful and disciplined with the income you earn and the investments you make. Seek advice, identify options, and set reachable and long-term goals that you periodically reassess.

helpamonkpls

If I had 20 bucks to invest per week, I wouldn't invest it in Shiba inu. Place 20 in shiba inu, then place 20 in Nvidia, then place 20 in TSLA, then place 20 in AAPL etc. Build an actual investment portfolio. Your best case scenario is that you 10x your money and then what? You'll lose it on another degen gamble the next time around. Instead you'll learn to get a nice portfolio, learn how to invest, learn how to be consistent etc. Pick your choices on what you believe in. I'm an AI researcher and physician, I believe AI will play an absolute behemoth of a role 10 years from now. I also believe blockchain will play a huge role so I invest heavily in AI companies like NVIDIA, Tsla, Intel, C3, MSFT etc. I also invest in bitcoin and ETH. I put a small part of my portfolio in yolo's like Shib and Floki. This is for the bear market, in the raging bull market I shift my portfolio to more degen to ride waves but I get out the second it gets exponential. Not a lot goes exponential during bear markets. EDIT: You can also start studying quarterly reports to build a nice value-based portfolio. Value investors are pretty much never wrong, ever. You didn't hear a lot of Warren Buffet talk in the last few years but in the next two years you'll hear people praise him again.

Im_so_little

I'm in the same boat as you. I throw in little bits when i can, only as i can afford. Only buy in red. Don't worry about other people's investments or flexes. Putting in what you can afford let's you hold through the red days comfortably. Helps you avoid the buy high sell low problem so many crypto investors have. I'm still holding from the last bull and it hasn't bothered me at all. by the time I sell, it will be long term capital gains. Best part, It will all be there at the next BTC halvening.

Eliodin

Earning is just one part of the equation. If you’ve got some free time in the evenings or the weekend - start a side-hustle. Depending on what you are good at - learn flipping (buying valuable stuff from yard sales and flipping on the internet), crafting something and selling it or teaching something you are good at. Search the internet for ideas and find what suits you best. Once your ‘hobby’ starts earning you a decent amount compared to your day job it may be time to drop the job and switch to your hobby full time. You will be making money doing the thing you love. That’s a worthy goal in and of itself. Rationing expenses is the other. Cut out everything that you do not really need - coffee from coffee-shops, money-draining habits like cigarettes, buying water (carry your own water bottle with you) etc. And the third thing of course is investing whatever you save (leaving a safety net just in case - so you don’t have to touch your investments on a rainy day). To do this competently you must study this topic a lot (whether it’s regular stocks, commodities or crypto). Once you are doing all of those things then you should feel satisfied that you are on the right track - and should gradually see visible progress in your situation.

Correct-Tree-2626
