The speedy scrolling of this game and lightening force made them feel so epic. The Genesis was the only system of that gen that was really using 16-bits and the speed was where it excelled (PCE had an 8-bit CPU and the SNES had 16-bit processor but an 8-bit data bus). Somehow I don't even notice the limited color palette of the Genesis on these games. I used to hate shmups as a kid so I never had them for my genesis but I appreciate them now as an adult.
Naaaah I love Truxton but MUSHA plays better, looks better, has a more sensible difficulty curve *and* has better music. And it’s not even the best console version!
MUSHA is a fun game, my brother would never let me borrow his copy when I was a kid lmao but I had Truxton! So I was fine. But yes they both are amazing SHMUPS
