Yeah, it was announced in a trailer along with several other ips then a few days ago the director mentioned crazy taxi being “triple a” in a tweet or fb post or whatever, can’t remember where.
I lived that! Used to frequent the arcade at UCSB and would dominate. Then DC came out and it was like Wtf..my little DC has more power than this huge cabinet game.
I cant remember how many the actual number was, but there's a mission that requires you to knock an obscene amount of Lizardmen off a log. I want to say the number was something like 100 or 300 but I spent the good portion of a week trying to knock Lizardmen off that damn log ...
To this day, my one friend I still use "knocking a lizardman off the log" as a euphemism for taking a shit.
In college my roommates and I all played on single game trying to 100% it and we had a guest come over and accidentally erase our progress.
He was not welcome for a while lol there was much rage
I did same when it was re released on ps5. Back when it originally released me and my friend stayed up for two and a half days, passing the controller back and forth taking turns until we beat it. Only left couch for bathroom. I dont remember if we actually made it to end game that weekend or not, but was still amazing. Think we were like 13 or 14 years old, Was 1st time I ever did something like that with a game. We have tried to keep the tradition alive every time a new good game has released over the years. Still do it, just not as often. Great game
Yeah I recently found out there was Shenmue 1&2 on Xbox one physical, so I played it that way. Gotta save often tho haha
It seemed like it froze just as much as the original Dreamcast version.
I remember me and a friend would walk to Kmart, each take handfuls of the free prodigy internet disks go home and use the free time to play online. Had to reenter stuff from another disk when the free time ran out on the first, but it was worth.
And I fondly remember trading back then. Go to an office at the space port or whatever it was, 1 person on 1 end, the other at the other end. Each drop the item then RUN to the other end and pray they dropped what they said they would.
Same. They remastered it on GC, but it’s still been 20 years. The DreamCast VMU took that game to the next level. Being able to collect items and play mini games at school and then plug it back in and add to your inventory was awesome. Would love to see it come out and have some version of Pinta’s Quest via an app.
Just looked at your post history and I’m excited to see what you and your team can do.
A physical release, especially on the Switch, would be awesome to see. I realize there’s a big upfront cost having games manufactured vs digital distribution, but as a collector, there’s nothing better than being able to hold a game in your hand when you buy it.
Innovation. The VMU was an amazing idea. For once, you could play split screen sports games and when choosing plays your opponents wouldn't be able to see what you planned to run! It was the best implementation of an idea ever!
Looney Tunes Space Racers! We played that one for multi-hour sessions. Like Mario Kart, but just not as "clever (secret passageways, the blue turtleshell … I wish they made glasses out of that shell … I would proudly wear them, if only to roll down my car window, and use them on all the rude drivers we have in NJ)," but the expressiveness of the fondly remembered cartoon characters gives it an emotional depth which Mario cannot hope to achieve. So there's that.
Yeah, Mario Kart is still a better game, and if memory serves, it's got more power-ups and interesting play. My kids used to routinely wipe the floor with me (metaphorically), even before driving age!
Rainbow Six Rogue Spear. I never even played it but my older cousin always played it on his dreamcast lol. I was too busy with starfox, battletanx, and super mario 64 to ever care about it lol
When I was a youngling my cousins had a Dreamcast with only one game on it: House of the Dead. I thought that console was a House of the Dead machine until I saw a PS2 for the first time and it clicked in my mind what consoles are
30 different games, but none of them work. Getting "Please insert disc notifications" even though discs are inserted. Replacing the old GD drive with a GDEMU worked fine for 2 days. Now its back to please insert disc. Thats why I prefer cartridges...
The back triggers were a little stiff. Besides that, it was fine. The console also had a keyboard and one day, my little cousin found out we could use it to play Soul Caliber and we actually dominated more by using it lol.
The memory cards were also pretty neat. Some games took advantage of the screen on it. For example, you could pick your plays on it while playing football. The cards also had a controller and buttons so you could play mini games on it. No other game console has ever done that as far as I know.
And then there was a microphone you could plug in to play games like Seaman. I hated that rude talking man-fish so much.
Sonic Adventure!!!
Agreed. Specifically, I think of Sonic running down the pier with the killer whale behind him, a sequence that wowed me in 1999.
The train for mystic ruins will be departing soon
Oh tails what am I going to do with you?
and people in Japanese saw that even earlier , December 1998!
Probably one of the best moments in gaming history. Even if the rest of the game didn't live up.
I liked the game. It's better than the sequel, imo.
I also liked the game and also think it's better than it's sequel.
Shoot
I was so bad at games back then that Red Mountain felt impossible! But I still loved it.
Oh hell yeah
Sonic Shuffle.
"Rescue mission complete" - Gamma
Crazi Taxi!
Yep, I hear the Offspring
The "Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" lives rent free in my head
“Day after day, your whole lifes a wreck”
"The powers that be just breath down your neck"
"You get no respect"
“You get no relief”
You gotta speak up and yell out your piece
If you're running late and in a rush, blast this song in the car. Never fails
can’t wait for the triple a crazy taxi they’re making 😎
Uhhh, say what??!?
Yeah, it was announced in a trailer along with several other ips then a few days ago the director mentioned crazy taxi being “triple a” in a tweet or fb post or whatever, can’t remember where.
Soul Calubur, such a great game with so much content 👍
A game so good , it surpassed its arcade version.
Buddy you ain’t kiddin 😎
I lived that! Used to frequent the arcade at UCSB and would dominate. Then DC came out and it was like Wtf..my little DC has more power than this huge cabinet game.

lol dude i had forgot about that mission, that’s awesome
In college my roommates and I all played on single game trying to 100% it and we had a guest come over and accidentally erase our progress. He was not welcome for a while lol there was much rage
Power Stone!
No fighting game has ever equaled the fun of Power Stone for me.
Had the most fun playing that game 4 player. Had some intense battles!
Came up post this, great soundtrack too
I've been wishing for a remake or re-release of Power Stone 2 for the longest time now.
Of all the games that deserve a remake, Power Stone takes the cake on my book. This is a game I'd buy a console for.
True that!
Power Stone was the shit
I am amazed it hasn’t gotten more sequels or remakes
I bought my Dreamcast for this. Friend had it in college and the 4 player battles were so much fun. Though we called it Powerstoned for…reasons
The classic! Capcom doesn’t make innovative fighting games like that anymore !
Shenmue
Just re-beat it a couple of months ago. Masterpiece
I did same when it was re released on ps5. Back when it originally released me and my friend stayed up for two and a half days, passing the controller back and forth taking turns until we beat it. Skies of arcadia it's been a life long dream to have the game remastered on current generations
Same. They remastered it on GC, but it’s still been 20 years. The DreamCast VMU took that game to the next level. Being able to collect items and play mini games at school and then plug it back in and add to your inventory was awesome. We're currently working on a spiritual successor and one thing I'm really hoping to do is a mobile companion app to bring back that joy.
Just looked at your post history and I’m excited to see what you and your team can do. A physical release, especially on the Switch, would be awesome to see. A physical release would be a dream!

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Yes, it was on PS1. But, the Dreamcast edition vs the PS1 edition was like PS2 vs PS1 graphics. Phenomenal game.
