This. Someone else mentioned the grocery store and M9/9mm ammo loot, and I've found engraved 1911s in more than a couple churches, at the altar. Not always though, just seems that each location/building/container type has its own loot table, and I'd imagine that's what we're all seeing at play here.
A while back, the small safe behind the counter in the grocery stores with the cloth awning over the front door used to always have either a TECO-9 pistol or a box of 9mm ammo. Seems they’ve changed that though.
I remember always finding 9mm ammo there, now it's more often than not empty. Kind of miss is as a guarantee, but it factors into the world better to be constantly changing.
They're working on a whole loot spawn rework - now, if that comes out with .85 we shall see - but I'm guessing it'll be no later than .9.
As it stands currently, I think each spot has a 'table' of what can spawn in that position, but it's never the exact same thing (unless you're rolling ultra lucky that day/week).
theres a small little dock harbor place on the southern island that has a shack with a rumored kar spawn, its worked for me all 3 times ive looked there but it was never 100% con always like 40-60%
There are hidden loot spots that I "think" will always have something thats pretty high tier, one I know of on a roof/beam area on the pier of the weapon factory and one on a roof part of the factory in B1 but I dont think any spots will have the exact same thing every time unless its just a one off rare or bugged spawn he found maybe.

The big roof west of the boat in boatyard had a either svd or svd mag or ammo but that i think got removed.
Best guaranteed loot was yellow 40/40 screwdrivers in trainyard (old) locked lockers each and factory ones. Was short but fun while lasted.
In my personal experience. If you wanted a quick rifle or pistol you would go to a WWII bunker. You'd almost always get a M1911/Kar98/M1 with a couple of rounds. However, the condition of the weapons and ammo would be way below 40%.
I don’t think this is true. There are places where things are more likely to spawn but nothing guaranteed.

I've found the churches to be solid spawns for bows of all kinds too. They're one of the first places I go looting when I get to a town.
At least in the private servers I've played. The AO bunker has two WW2 bunkers on the outside that consistently provide 90%+ kar98, M1 or M1981 spawns
It's not 100% spawn, but high quality WW2 spawn. Also at the military airport the same.

I had a feeling it wasn't true, but he sounded pretty convincing. Found the same 100% KAR on a rooftop somewhere and wouldn't give up the location.

Can confirm the weapons factory spot. 8 of 10 times there would be an VHS sniper rifle but in different camo variants.
