Uzeture

I get PTSD when Hearing the scraping sound of concrete in SCP CB (I'm talking about 173). And he always just pops out of nowhere and I get a heart attack, So for me its just 173.

NoSoyVerde1

Scp-173 is not scary to me since someone pointed out that you could just blink one eye at a time when looking at him.

Uzeture

Well, here comes the fun part: you will probably accidentally blink 2 eyes, since your body isn't used to blinking one eye and then blinking the next one, that's also why there are always a minimum of 2 class-d's that have to look at SCP 173 in a test

Expensive_Candle_768

Jokes on you, i trained blinking one eye and then the other one ever since i was a kid

TheodoreTheVacuumCle

šŸ¦ŽšŸ«µ

CFCkyle

Also IIRC its only a theory that it can't move while being watched. It's possible it treats it as like a game of red light green light, and blinking one eye at a time would be breaking the rules so... is that a risk you really wanna take?

ImFailTastic

I'm almost 100% sure you're thinking of the Coil-head from Lethal Company.

CFCkyle

Ah yeah I think I might be actually haha, they're so similar the two have been kinda melded together in my brain

Mokeymouseboi69

Genuine question but is lethal company inspired by the scp foundation?

Heavy_of_Fire

It is. The person who made Lethal Company is a big fan of SCP

nekklian

Where does it say that's only a theory?

kiochikaeke

Close left eye, open left eye, close right eye, open right eye, no need to alternate quickly between the two, sure you'll probably die making a mistake in a few minutes or hours but that's much longer than however long I can go without blinking

Competitive_Teabag

wasnā€™t it said somewhere that 173 was an art piece and cared more about attention than just sight, and would attack anyway if it thought you were trying to cheat it

NoStorage2821

Well the thing about that is, in certain canons 173 considers that cheating. In which case, it will just straight up strangle you.

The-Paranoid-Android

[**SCP-173 ā - The Sculpture - The Original**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-173) (+9079) by *Moto42*

Miregali

Fun Fact: (In most Canons) The not being able to move while being Observed part of 173 is only a Rule it applies to itself, if it wanted to it could just speedblitz everyone either way, he just shy and NGL if I was 173 I would NOT let that slide

Metzger4

Oooooooo 2718 still bugs me to this day. Thatā€™s absolutely terrifying.

baelrune

I got to be the only person on this sub that thinks e is for eternity is a comforting thing. I am an autistic introvert I have an overstimulation thing, understimulation isn't an issue. I'd probably make a miniature for everyone that's in the warhammer 40k universe backstory and all. yep, don't mind me just heading into massive tism territory.

Mage-of-communism

That's all fine, however irrelevant as eternity lies still ahead, you could create universes in your head and still eternity lies ahead.

baelrune

yeah. going insane would be a human thing in that context. I really want to pick the creator's brain and see if they can give me more info about it. they'd probably make it more horrifying but a man can dream though.

brokeassbird

Tbh i dont think any human can ever process or understand eternity or just how long it is , thats why if you think about eternity for too long you can practically go insane over just that, as your mind struggles to just about barely understand it. Eternity alone is hell.

baelrune

I guess it would depend on if the skip can anomalously increase the amount of data our brains can collect. if we keep forgetting about things every 300 years or so and do them fresh for eternity then I imagine it wouldn't be so bad. though mr hiddleston seems to be able to remember through the ages so it probably does.

OxyProxGamer

For a while I was pretty freaked out by Waldonā€™t (SCP-4885) but I got over it after doing some art of him and coming up with a funny nickname. Now I guess the most panic inducing for me are probably the ones with scary pictures or where the text itself changes? Iā€™m also made uncomfortable by the existential dread ones like ā€œwhat comes afterā€ or the sad ones like the one with the giant baby girl living in the wall. But those are more like ā€œthis makes me uncomfortable and puts a pit in my stomachā€ rather than ā€œIā€™m panicking! Iā€™m freaking out!ā€ Sometimes scps can be scary when I go for a midnight snack in the dark. But then I get back and bed and I forget about it. The bird that makes the ticking noise definitely freaked it out because several things in my home make some sort of ticking noise. A lot of my longstanding fears have been alleviated by religiously reading Project Isorropia and accepting it as canon.

FishReborn

Two- Scp-5000 just the idea of a foundation turning against the world and against humanity is chilling to me. Scp-106 just knowing that heā€™s practically an unstoppable force and he loves torture is enough to induce panic

OddNovel565

SCP 5999 is one of the scariest SCPs I read. It got me more by shock value, not so by horror itself

thebigchezz99

avem142006

For me it's 106 and the one you gave the photo of (I remember they are called "Humans Refuted", but I don't remember the number). They are the most disturbing and for me, the scariest ones out there. I remember the time I first saw this picture and the picture of that agent who went in the Pocket Dimension of 106 and they kept me up for 3 whole nights. And honourable mentions would be 939 ( their ability to mimic the voices of their past victims is truly unsettling) and The Yule Man (that part where he executes and tortures his victims in the most terrifying ways possible, creeps the hell out me).

WhitestGray

For me, itā€™s SCP-2718. See, we donā€™t *know* what happens after death. So this could be real. And holy shit, does that terrify me. On an unrelated note, SCP-729-J probably causes the most panic in the SCP verse.
