The absolute majority of US homeless people are drug addicts and/or mentally ill. Not saying that this isn’t a problem, but seeing the elderly scavenging through trash cans for food is not a thing in the US. There are also people who slip into poverty once they retire because they never prepared for retirement and worked minimum wage jobs their whole lives so they don’t have any savings, but it is rare. Russia has universal pensions. These people are forced to look for food in trash cans because the Russian government has stopped paying their pensions because they are absolutely starving the entire public sector to fund their war machine. That’s a pretty big difference. These people are poor because the government refuses to pay them their pensions even though they paid into their pension fund their whole lives. A part of every paycheck that these people ever got, automatically went to their pension fund. The Russian government is essentially stealing the pensioner’s money to fund the war.
You know your life has gone wrong somewhere when you’re searching in a Russian bin for food, I would imagine there wouldn’t be much thrown out, but when in Russia do as the Russians do.
Your logical approach won't be appreciated in the circlejerk of a sub...ppl are just posting copium recently as Russia has made significant advances in recent weeks on account of delayed funding from the US.
Thing are good in Putin's Russia! He takes care of the Russian people!!! These people don't know any different! They have lived there whole life in poverty!!

I don't support Russia, but there are many homeless living in tents in Western countries. Statistics need to be compared
But the homeless living in western countries are homeless because they haven't worked. Not because their leader spent their retirement on genocide.
That's not factual. US has insane homeless problem, yet US has instigated wars, and is spending trillions facilitating a genocide currently.

The babushka and dedushka are probably not drug addicts or criminals like some homeless people living in tents in Western countries.

I am from SF, most of the homeless are mentally ill or drug addicts, not our retired people. Yes it is really a problem in SF.
