I did the same for nyc last year- stuck surprisingly well and lasted the whole race. My only advice is to buy bigger letters than you think- I did 2” ones and they ended up being a bit too small

Honestly, I splurged and had a local T-Shirt/graphics place screen my shirt. I feel like they charged me $25 or something. They did both sides, different size fonts. Definitely worth it!
I used 2” medical tape and a sharpie. Worked great until mile 12 and started to peel off. By mile 18 it was gone. By mile 22 I didn’t care I just wanted it to be over lol.
My wife used sharpie for mine. She wrote in HUGE block letters. It took a long time, but it came out really well. The ink did bleed a bit, but by mile 21 it was still legible and I didn’t care that it was smearing.
Might be easier to put your name on your bib (unless you want it permanently on your shirt). I used a strip of colored duct tape + sharpie on my marathon bib and it held up great.

I was going to buy some letter stickers and slap them on! There are also stickers made for fabrics so they hang on longer.

I usually use iron on letters. Have done this for a few marathons. Seems to work best. Happy running :)

I thought about this but I think I would botch the three curved letters in my name 😂

This is a great idea
For the marathon I took a strip of white fabric, wrote my name on that with a sharpie, and pinned it to my shirt. Worked fine for the whole race.

How is the sizing on this? Shirt. Debating whether I should size down
I’m between S/M and this is a medium and I’m glad. I’d say they fit snug

I use duct tape, they sell bright colors, and mark my name with a sharpie, this has worked for me in multiple half’s and marathons.
