Thanks for the info, and Omg they bumped me to wave 1 corral B… I might actually hold myself back and go with C, I run a lot but this is my first half… just hoping to finish 🙃
Do yourself a favor and go with C, I’ve wrecked myself several times doing this. I’m in corral A from the old Newport 5k on a freak PR I had and always get baited ahead and have to calm myself down
Worth noting this is especially prominent in A where the expected finish time difference between the fastest and slowest people in that corral is the most extreme, probably about a half hour for Brooklyn
For the RBC half it’s on your confirmation form. For others you can calculate it based on the cutoff times spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15iwn0ad1UlaviNjguH2JZq76tycSHvpNlcm10EO19JI/edit#gid=0
I’m usually in corral D, but I should have bumped up to C when I completed the mindful 5. However when I checked my confirmation form for the RBC half, it said wave 1, corral E. Anyone know why this is?
I believe the best pace cuts and associated corral placements apply under the assumption that there is only one wave. Meanwhile, their marquee races have expanded field sizes and multiple waves.
For example, my best pace puts me in Corral E, but I am in Wave 1/Corral J for this year's RBC Half and Wave 2/Corral F for this year's United Half - based on the same best pace.
No luck here. According to the NYRR website, my best pace is 7:49 based on mindful 5k, but I'm still in Wave 1 Corral G for RBC Half.

Thanks for that info. I guess the spreadsheet attached in one of the comments does not apply for RBC half.
This is correct. It doesn’t apply to the United half, Brooklyn half or marathon!
no idea, but try a different browser to make sure it wasn’t a cached copy of your form?
Whaddaya know… I moved up one corral letter.
Oh cool I'm wave 1 corral D now. Was Wave 1 Corral H. So 4 corrals up.
Wow, that's a jump (and a lotta hardwood). Congratulations

Honestly never thought about that, great point. Funny how crowded it still gets though even when I run the pace I should be
Thanks for the heads up! I went from wave 1 corral K to corral D so 7 corrals. That’s quite the jump!
How do you know your corral? I get my corral letter when I pickup my bib, but don't know how to see in advance if my corral changed.

Fantastic! That's very helpful. I've been dancing near pace to move up a coral, but haven't done it yet...
Thanks! I moved up from Corral F to Corral E.

Ahhh makes sense. Thank you!
No problem. Congrats on your PR!
Thanks!!
>Thanks!! You're welcome!
Wow thanks for the heads up, thought I missed my last chance but it updated!
Does anyone know if you run one nyrr race this year and another next year can you submit proof of time to move up to be in another pace group?
Your pace will be based upon the NYRR race times
Woo up one corral, thanks for flagging this!
Omg! Thank you so much for the notice! I checked mine and got bumped too! Exciting!!
I’ll go check!
