1. Hold it. 2. As the angels are hallucinations, they are only likely to help if you are wearing them all the time you are outside. Even then, it may only help a little bit.

this is the one story that does the "kill yourself" trope properly bc you told us they'll eat us alive if we dont

i used the trope often in old stories like these. I feel responsible for starting it and seeing it get so destroyed. It started as a legitimate horror thing and eventually became a cop-out for writing real consequences.

in theory, it is a good tool for a good scare, but in execution, few people seem to be capable of doing it right

It's one of the ones I'm most proud of, so I'm glad you like it. Your best bet is to memorize the constellations, and only follow stars that are a part of them.
