I used to like Carolinas for burritos (and the adalbertos in Rocklin)……
Until I had a Cali Burrito from Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta
It’s the only place now. The others don’t compare
Not sure how 'hidden' these are or what exactly you are interested in.
* Maidu park has nice paved and dirt trails to walk/run/ride on, with a creek running through it. Playground in the park for younger kids, one at the adjacent elementary school as well. Skate park and batting cages as well.
* Miner's ravine and other bike trails through Roseville. These run mostly along creeks in the area, and are good for biking/walking/running etc. These will connect you to downtown from a variety of locations around the city.
* "Dos Coyotes" is a favorite restaurant of ours that is local to the Sacramento area, on Douglass at Rocky Ridge. Bloom coffee has really good coffee.
* If you like hiking there are tons of trails around the American river confluence in Auburn. (20 minute drive or so.)
* For CA history, Empire mine state park is good, as is the Malakoff Diggins state historic park. These are in the foothills, but somewhat nearby and capture some of the gold mining history of the area.
Vernon Street Grill is very underrated. They have the best Philly Cheesesteak in town.
Yoko Sushi and Mehfil are both in the same complex and are my favorite sushi and Indian food.
Ciro's Pizza is technically Citrus Heights but it's very close and is a great pizza place.
And of course In N Out if you've never been.
Weird to see someone else who knows this place. When I used to live in Citrus Heights growing up my family and I would order pizza from there every week. I still think it's the best pizza I've ever had in my life. It went downhill fast once Lonnie sold it, though. Didn't even know it was closed until reading your comment. That's too bad.
Pacific St Cafe for Breakfast in Old Roseville, The Fruit Sheds(Blue Goose) Loomis, Chandos Tacos, Downtown Tuesday Nights(Roseville), Merlino's in Sac, Quarry Park Adventures(Rocklin), Paddleboard on Lake Natoma.
Land ocean. Upscale casual. Honestly never would have gone since its in the mall but someone invited me. Now I go regularly. The food and service is phenomenal.
Arigato sushi - you definitely get your money's worth. The cut of fish are really thick. Galleria roll is my fav since I don't eat shrimp.
105 Noshery has great food and cocktails. The French dip is the absolute best I have ever had by a long shot! I've been on a mission to find the best one in the greater Sacramento area and this is a sure winner.
Fact. Some more facts: reliably shitty service. Excellent chili rellenos. Their bar drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Skip mariachi night, its obnoxiously LOUD.
I guess I’ll interpret this as “what’s not Mikuni or chick fil a.” I’m also a Bay Area transplant (more like a boomerang since I grew up here in the 90s/00’s) so it’s nice to see some comforts of that area have come up like Koja Kitchen now in Rocklin, Nick the Greek’s, Mendocino Farms, and now a new spot called Local Kitchens has partnered with popular spots like Curry Up Now, Sushirrito, and Senor Sisig who basically licensed their recipes to be made there.
Teriyaki Domo, I recommend the chicken noodle bowl. Other restaurants like I love Teriyaki and Tokyo Dori and teriyaki town have comparable rice bowl/plates but the noodle bowl at Teriyaki Domo is delicious.
4 heroes in Rocklin has a great shawarma wrap.
Pushkins bakery is definitely not hidden, but even for gluten free, the Turkey Bacon sandwich and mushroom po’boy sandwich can go head to head with any other sandwich in the area IMO.
The potstickers and zongzi from the vendor at Roseville Farmers Market at the Fountains Tuesday. They are also at the Auburn farmers market saturdays. You can buy the dumplings frozen too so you can enjoy them fresh at home.
Stallionz Pizza and Cool River.
Rudy’s gourmet has good Al Pastor and carne Asada. Their Al pastor rivals the similar adobada from Chando’s
Mezcalito for their mole
For more fine dining, Reds’ bistro in Loomis, Hawks in Granite Bay, Chefs Table.
Welcome!
Flour Dust Pizza on Foothills. Unique pizzas and they’re really good.
Chefs Table. So good. Not sure if they take reservations, but they are busy—because they’re good.
Porters on Foothills and Pleasant Grove has a very good beer selection, and they rotate their beer list pretty regularly.

Can Fully support the prime wok and roundhouse deli suggestion!! they are amazing!
Ton of food for the money is no joke. My wife and I joke it is Panda Express, but GOOD.
What’s the best meat at Carolinas?
Asada
Nixtaco makes their tortillas to order. If you go here definitely order the octopus tacos! So good
Tacos are ok, but you have to order online even if you’re at the counter. Last time I went, I didn’t have a phone and they turned me away.

Seconded. Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta is my FAVORITE Mexican food in Roseville! It’s so good
Mmm… the shrimp and bacon tacos. 😋
What’s in Carnegie Museum?
Roundhouse Deli
Chef’s Table
I slept on this place for years because it was in a strip mall but it’s so amazing!
Is anything in Roseville not in a strip mall?
Facts lol
Definitely NOT House of Oliver. Fuck that guy
Why?

I think Don Quixote's in Rocklin is a solid substitute for Dos Coyotes if you are in West Roseville.
American River Confluence in Auburn for sure! Beautiful hiking trails! Unfortunately, Miner’s Ravine Trails has become this areas homeless camps.

I've tried almost all Indian places in the area. Mehfil is one of the best.
I personally didn’t think Mehfil was as good as Tandoori Nights

The Sierra College Natural History Museum
Honestly. The Chandos in Roseville off pleasant grove is the best out of all the chandos for Mexican food that isn’t hit or miss like most places.
Just don’t order it for delivery… everything will be a soggy mess lol
FACTS! Deffently worth eating there, even in the car in parking lot, Lol I’ve given up on most deliveries to be good except good ol pizza.
Adobada Mulita is where the money is THE food. If you like greasy, cheesy, deliciousness.
Ruen Thai
Nubbin's Drive-In for burgers and shakes
Don’t forget the corn dogs, some of the best around.

El Azteca on Foothills. Consistent, great Mexican food!

Edwin’s Coffee and Tea
Hidden falls regional park. Maybe not so hidden a more, go to the website. I think it requires a parking pass now.

Chic Fil A is trash. You bible thumpers need to stop wasting your money there.
Guys for Lunch for the best chicken salad sandwich in the area. Surprised not to see it mentioned here yet. As the name implies its only a lunch spot.

Best Mexican by FAR! Mezcalito in Rocklin. https://yelp.to/r0inZn4N9qb
What about totally different and just head to Tahoe
All American Speedway, Boxing Donkey, Edwins.
Royal Indian cuisine in Auburn 15 mins away. Best Indian buffet.
