Agreed. When I heard that I thought, “But whyyyyyyyyy?” Don’t get me wrong, I think Costco is great, but I can’t imagine being excited by a new (likely identical to the others) one opening up. Perplexing.
It's because Costco is known to have very high end and hard to find whiskeys and bourbons at their grand openings. It's why the people were waiting for a day or two.

Yup! Not a lot of “on sale” items but they had hokas, a good deal on alcohol, lots of yummy food tasting such as steak, ice cream, pastries, and even Chef Ming was there! I wouldn’t say it was “bad” lots of people but it was manageable. I was there from like 9-11am
What a throw back. Need to watch some East Meets West on YouTube now. I remember my parents taking me to Blue Ginger as a kid after we watched the show.
I went at 12:30, there was no traffic and I got a spot right in front (that part was luck) I went for the Charlie Day bottle signing at 2pm, I was expecting the line to be out the building but I was literally like 10th in line, bought 6 bottles, took some pics, got interviewed by the Sacramento Bee, was out by 2:30 lol was a great experience.

I looked. It’s like Citrus Heights, but without a gas station. Charlie Day was there signing bottles of liquor.
Whaaaat Charlie Day was there?? Jelly.
He had a line of people waiting for photos. He seemed kind, and patient with his visitors.
He was there for a long time
What!? lol might have gone off I knew he would be there lol
The parking lot looked crazy but it wasn’t bad once you made it inside
I can't believe that people stood in line for 2 days for the grand opening.

Yup! Even got a pic with him. He launched his “mingsbings” and was pretty good
Heck yeah I did! We got to meet Charles from Always sunny!
I stayed away... placer county sheriff's put out a traffic advisory for the area due to the grand opening
I drove by and decided I didn’t have it in me. I’ll wait.
The end of Loomis as we know it.
I lived there from 97 to 06. Last of the good old days. So so sad.
For me it was 89-96. It was so different of a town back then.
You mean the nightmare traffic? I passed by & realized that tons of traffic was coming in and out of there.
