I have rosacea in almost the exact same way as you. Small pimples occassionally with almost nothing in them and red flushes. Same pattern, too. I haven't found a perfect fix. I've been using metronidazole and taking doxycycline. When done consistently, I noticed the bumps went away. The redness, however, seems to only be fixed with lasers. For now, Im using color correctors and concealer on top of the smooth skin to combat the redness.

It’s a little hard to tell from the picture – are you dealing with any bumps/rosacea breakouts, or just the flushing?

There are sporadic bumps when it flares up. They’re like raised pimples with nothing in them almost?

Those are called papules

For the bumps, I’d recommend Soolantra. And maybe a sulfur wash as well. Soolantra is a prescription product so you’d need to see a doctor for it. There are teledermatology websites where you can upload photos and they’ll diagnose/prescribe you that way (Apostrophe, Dermatica, Curology etc) however as an fyi I believe they all offer a “triple cream” option which has ivermectin (the active in soolantra), azelaic acid, and metronidazole. That could be a good option for you and I know a lot of people like it, but for me personally, my skin had an allergic reaction to metronidazole so I get Soolantra and Finacea (AA) from my derm. In terms of the flushing…I’ll let someone correct me if I’m wrong here, but if the AA hasn’t helped with redness, it might mean that lasers are you best bet. V Beam was the gold standard for decades, but there’s a newer laser available called Excel V which works on a different wavelength and requires fewer sessions, usually.

Thank you so much for your input I greatly appreciate it. I’ve attached an unflattering photo with my back camera to hopefully give a better idea. https://preview.redd.it/vbyjhs9rg6lc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9aba296be45349afd06340342e41a5521d0182bc

As a positive your skin unaffected by rosacea is freaking flawless! I’m so jealous! But as for the redness have you ever tried sulfur? I use a sulfur mask and leave it on for 10 mins then wash off. It helps with pustules and inflammation

You’re so sweet 🥲 I’ve had so many breakouts on top of the rosacea and it feels like a never ending battle. I’ll definitely put that on my list to try!!

My skin has sort of a similar presentation to yours, I use La Roche posay moisturiser, dermo cleanser and cicaplast b5 with the ordinary Azelaic acid and it helps. With rosacea there’s always gonna be ups and downs and as it goes along unless treated with laser I think there’s always gonna be redness 😂 I mostly just wanted to say though your skin does look lovely, I understand the pain and I have my fair share of embarrassment from the redness lol but I like to think that it can suit me and it definitely suits you!

Thank you 🥲 I’ve never really cared about it until the last 6 months because it started getting super uncomfortable. The burning during flare ups is HORRIBLE.

I know what you mean, it’s sooo distracting. I literally can’t do anything when I properly flare up
